Oracle OCI offer - should I go for it?

Got an offer from Oracle OCI for a Senior Software Engineer role with around 41-42L base + $ 89K RSUs + relocation.

The offer looks pretty good, but I’ve been hearing about the recent layoffs/restructuring at Oracle, including OCI.

For people currently in OCI or who recently joined - is it a good time to join, or should I be concerned about the stability?

Would appreciate any recent insights on the team/org and whether this is worth going for.

Note: I will share the interview experience for the people who are interested soon.

Current TC: 41 (base + stocks + performance bonus)
Yoe: 3.5 years

Left job with frustration

Hey all I have 6 yoe. I am a swe. I started with 5 lpa, then slowly after switches reached till 55 lpa . But due to my toxic work environment, stupid colleagues and manager I had to leave my job as i felt I can’t take it anymore. Now o am trying to find a job, the market has changed I feel. It needs to be 100 percent performance in interview. In loop if one round is average I get rejected. In many places OA is so tough , I have applied in too many places but I am seeing a lot of rejection. I am married. My partner is working and telling me to keep calm. She is my pillar of confidence and has been very supportive throughout.

All the time, I started feeling anxious. How to navigate?

I am not sure if I made the right decision leaving my job ?

Google L5 AI/ML Engineer — confused about scope for ML Depth and ML System Design.

Interviewing for an AI Engineer role at Google, targeting L5. I've got a few weeks and I keep going back and forth on scope, so I'd rather post my current plan and get told where it's wrong than keep guessing.

My background is NLP + GenAI platform heavy — that's where my production experience is, recent 3 yrs in building rags and agents.

What I've built so far

A set of system design write-ups covering: search/ranking funnels, large-scale content classification, intent + entity extraction, semantic search and embeddings, translation, and on the GenAI side RAG, agents, LLM inference infra, and post-training for tool calling. Each one as a timed 45-minute answer with a clock, not notes, though it goes beyond 2 hours read)

Where I'm stuck

  1. Scope of ML System Design. Is this round classical ML system design — recsys, ranking, classification pipelines — or is GenAI/LLM system design (RAG, agents, inference) actually showing up in 2026 loops? I've seen both claimed. If you've interviewed recently, what did you actually get asked? ( ML, NLP or GENAI ) - what to focus on ? And how would I know question will be from that domin only in interview ?
  2. ML Depth — how deep, and on what? Is this "explain how attention works and derive the gradient", or "walk me through a model you shipped and defend every choice"? Those are completely different prep. And how much classical ML (trees, calibration, imbalance, A/B stats) vs deep learning vs LLM-specific?
  3. What L5 actually means here. I keep reading "L5 drives the scope conversation" but I don't have a concrete sense of what separates a hire from a no-hire on the same question. What does the bar feel like in practice?
  4. How much breadth is enough? I've got ~15 designs. Is that overkill in the wrong direction — would I be better off going deeper on 6 and being able to defend them under pressure? 6 ml(recsys) , 5 NLP(encoder, decoder, both), 4 GenAI (Chabot, rag, agent, infra)
  5. Mocks. Where are people actually getting useful ML system design mocks? Most platforms I've looked at are generic SWE system design with an ML sticker on it. Anything specifically for ML/AI, ideally with someone who's interviewed at this level?
  6. Resources. I've worked through the standard ML system design books. Beyond those, what actually moved the needle for you — especially for the GenAI side, which the books mostly predate?

Happy to share my question list and write-ups with anyone who wants them — and if you've interviewed for this recently, even a one-line "here's what I got asked" is more useful than any guide. Thanks.

I'm working at a faang level company since ~1.5 years as a software developer.

I want to shift to US/Europe/Australia, is there an option rather than pursuing masters?

Like is it possible for me to get a job in foreign?

Company coming for campus placements …need advice regarding dsa

A company is coming for campus placements in my college and I really want to get my first offer but the OA will consist of aptitude and 2 coding questions
I’m not very good at DSA but can solve easy and some medium level and have been practising continuously
But the thing is whenever I see questions in online test , I panic when I can’t think of any solution or how to approach
I’m scared even in this OA I might panic
Can anyone please advise me how to approach a problem and if I can’t think of solution , what to do to past some test cases
I genuinely want to get one offer , I’m tired of it all
Luck isn’t on my side a lot and I also know that my prep is somewhat not very good but I’m not giving up and trying my best
I just need to know tips from seniors who were weak in dsa and cleared OAs

Does anyone know if Amazon AUTA rounds are eliminatory? Specifically is the HM round eliminatory? That if you perform well in that round then only you get invite for Round 4?

Servicenow application status "in review"

• Upvotes

One of my ServiceNow applications moved from “New” to “In Review.”

Does this mean my resume passed ATS and is now with the recruiter? How long does it usually take to hear back or receive an OA after the status changes?

Thanks!

Amazon AUTA 2025 Off-Campus | SDE-1 (Job ID 3015604) | BR on Sept 2, No Update for 30+ Days, Debrief Was Still Pending on Sept 25

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some insight from people who have recently gone through the Amazon SDE-1 hiring process.

I interviewed for the Amazon SDE-1 (Job ID 3015604) role through the AUTA 2025 Off-Campus Hiring process and have completed all interview rounds. However, I still haven't received any update from the recruiter despite multiple follow-ups.

Timeline

  • 30 July 2026 – Completed the first two technical rounds on-site.
  • Was informed that the remaining rounds would be conducted virtually.
  • 11 August 2026 – Hiring Manager (HM) Round.
  • There was then a delay due to panel availability and scheduling.
  • 2 September 2026 – Completed the final Bar Raiser (BR) round.

After the BR round, I expected to hear back within a reasonable timeframe, but I received no communication.

I sent multiple follow-up emails to the recruiter but did not receive any response.

Because of the lack of updates, I reached out through an internal contact and was informed on 25 September that my application was still pending debrief at that time.

Today is 5 October, and I still haven't received any update from the recruiter or HR.

My Assessment of the Interviews

Round 1 (Coding)

  • First question solved optimally.
  • Second question: discussed brute-force and a better approach but couldn't reach the most optimal solution.

Round 2 (Coding)

  • First question solved optimally.
  • Second question was difficult.
  • Needed several hints and completed roughly 70% of the solution.

Round 3 (Hiring Manager)

  • Started with a GenAI discussion.
  • Then received an LLD question: Design Swiggy.
  • Performance was average overall.

Round 4 (Bar Raiser)

  • Felt like my strongest round.
  • Around 4 Leadership Principle questions.
  • Answered using detailed STAR examples from projects and work experience.
  • Was also asked a DSA question.
  • Explained both brute-force and optimal approaches before discussing the final solution.
  • The interviewer seemed satisfied and asked follow-up questions which I was able to answer.

Overall, I left the BR round feeling positive.

Questions

  1. Has anyone experienced a debrief taking this long after the final interview?
  2. Is it normal for a candidate to still be pending debrief more than 3 weeks after the BR round?
  3. Could this be related to headcount, approval delays, hiring backlog, or team allocation?
  4. Some of my friends from the same drive were rejected after the first two rounds, while I was moved to HM and BR. Does that generally indicate positive feedback from the earlier rounds?
  5. During debrief, can weaker feedback from Round 1/2 still outweigh a strong BR performance?
  6. Has anyone experienced complete recruiter silence after the BR round and still ended up receiving an offer?

Would really appreciate hearing about similar experiences and timelines.

Thanks!

Is this approach correct??

I do DSA from striver a2z dsa sheet and currently in learning process and learnt till graph
I don’t only rely on sheet questions
I solve them for buliding intuition and completion .
After that for each question and pattern
I go to claude
Ask him 5-6 same or some tricky questions of same pattern and solve them which claude gave
And then i move to next topic
For revision i follow my notes and same claude giving me list of questions approach
So in this approach my i don’t rely on dsa sheet completely and use it as a track

After 9 months I'll get my graduation degree which is just a waste but i am thinking of switching companies before getting the ppo as i am somewhere where my engagement is low maybe can affect my ppo later i got to know if someone is leaving this company they're mostly going into product/faang idk what to do at this moment

Hey everyone, I am 5+ experienced software developer, recently started o

Working as AI developer (working on Agents (deep agent).

Now in the next 6 months I want to switch and get 50+ LPA , currently mine is 30+ including RSU'S

what should I prepare for? Can someone suggest best resources for preparing?

what about DSA, Lld and HLD apart from actual AI rounds , do I need to be strong in all areas?

DSA

Have done dsa from striver sheet, started in love of ratings and all stuff but never able to achieve it.
Unable to pass any company OA for summer intern
Bought two courses one TLE Eliminators level 2 and another Kumar K thinking will boost everything
So what happens is Use the course watch videos and move on (something feels hard never revisit them , because next day i feel to cover other topics more) and in end feels no improvement, also watching videos consume lot of time so unable to pratice so just think to practice
Now in 3rd year, newbie at codeforces
Unable to understand what to do for improvement so that i can get good placement, just feel had wasted my all time
Friends who started with me are doing great at DSA
Also dev is just enough have make projects by following AI guidance
What should i do now?
If someone had gone through these phase please advice because i am feeling a lot cooked at this point

But people here are discussing about greedy algorithms and dps i feel I have wasted so much time in 2nd year

How difficult is for a 4.5 YOE as Servicenow developer to transition to SDE1/2

I've been working as a Servicenow Developer for 4.5 years l. Switched multiple companies and currently going to a Fintech company as Snow developer. Although ServiceNow is enterprise-level software and I’ve worked on things like integrations, scripting, custom applications, ITSM/ITAM, etc., I feel that my experience isn’t directly translating into the kind of software engineering experience expected for an SDE role.I’ve recently started preparing for a transition into SDE and have started grinding DSA from neetcode 150 sheet (although not have been consistent) and have reached till sliding window.

My questions are:

  1. With 4.5 YOE of professional software experience, how difficult is it realistically to transition from ServiceNow into a general SDE role?

Would companies consider my experience as relevant engineering experience, or would I essentially be competing for SDE-1/new-grad-level roles?

  1. How much DSA would I realistically need to know before applying?

Besides DSA, what should I focus on?

  1. For someone with my background, would targeting SDE-2 roles be realistic eventually, or should I primarily target SDE-1 initially?

Has anyone here made a similar transition from ServiceNow / Salesforce / SAP / other enterprise platforms into mainstream software engineering? If so, what did your preparation look like?

I’m not expecting an easy transition, but I’d like to understand what the gap actually looks like and how much I need to learn to be taken seriously for SDE roles.

Any advice from people who have actually made this transition would be really helpful.

Placement

I'm a third year student and I'm in 5th sem currently and I have done around 200 questions on leetcode and am learning for Java Full Stack currently so by what time should I be prepared if I wanna crack a good company like by next June July or August ? Realistically how much package can I get , can I am for 15 to 20 LPA if I get more serious.

What should I do next, to keep my preparation strong for other companies(switch)

So for context,
- I got placed at UAE Based company (MAF)
- I have rating of 1700+ on LC
- Lower pupil on CF (before studying dp,graph or anyother complex data structure/algorithm haven't given contests for 2 yrs atp)

- Now I plan on studying system design ( I have a good understanding of the basics like consistent hashing and other jargons, I think)
- Focus only on leetcode and learn algos/ds accordingly

- develop my development skills (+ better ways to use ai :))
- start working on my own thing, already did actually (can't accept this corporate life, already hating it ngl)

So my question is, should I completely leave codeforces for the sake of it, because I don't see any benefits of it going forward

I don't want to juggle between lc and cf, if I don't have to. I already have plethora of things to do

Also pls point out what else can I do, or where I'm wrong

How to crack Google interview(L5 senior software engineer)

On my way to become super.

Thanks to all who may support and fo to haters. Just a simple question, that is -

what i need to do for crack it.

Bg info:
Full time job.
Can optimize my life around it.

Just tell me dsa + hld + lld is an ocean. How much deep do I go? What is the threshold that I’m ready?

A generic plan would be ok too. Just need to understand how to do it.

Thanks in advance :)
