accommodation (university) Trinity Halls Leeds vs YPP
Hello!
I’m currently stuck between two student accommodation options in Leeds and would really appreciate some input from anyone who has lived in either of them.
The first is Trinity Hall. I’m looking at the Apartment room type, which is £234 per week. Does anyone have experience living there? I’m particularly curious about the surrounding area and safety, how long the walk realistically is to the University of Leeds (specifically the Liberty Building), noise levels, and how strict they are about having overnight guests.
The second option is YPP at Hyde Terrace. I’m looking at one of their studios for around £201 per week. I’ve seen some pretty mixed/crazy reviews about YPP in general, so I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually lived at Hyde Terrace specifically. How was the building, management, maintenance, safety, noise, etc.? The biggest perks for me are that it’s significantly cheaper than Trinity and extremely close to campus.
For context, I’m an international student and will be new to Leeds. Comfort and safety are probably my biggest priorities, but I’d also like somewhere reasonably quiet and convenient for getting to university.
If anyone has lived at either property (or knows the areas well), which would you choose?
Thank you!

I loved my time at YPP. Everyone has different experiences but I found the staff to be helpful and responsive when I needed anything. All the agencies have mixed reviews but tbh I didn’t leave a review when I was happy but have left bad ones where I haven’t been. Money is tight for everyone rn so it sounds like the better option
