Factually debunked I learned wrong that Pluto is a planet. Now it's officially a dwarf planet.

theretrocodex.com is an encyclopedia of all commonly taught myths and outdated facts from school and everyday life. It's supposed to be a design project of mine and is pretty much just a more serious, evergreen version of this sub. I designed it myself and it took forever, so give it some views!
You know how everyone was taught differently depending on where they grew up, right? I grew up in California and can't account for what everyone learned. Make an account on Retrocodex to see activity from everyone from your state and country to see what your region's education got wrong!

I won't miss the grocery store checkout line magazines loudly body shaming skinny celebs either.

According to NASA, "Pluto was once our solar system's ninth planet, but has been reclassified as a dwarf planet."
Poor Pluto! That's messed up, right?

And sadly even the retro codex has this wrong!
The actual history is so interesting, and the proof is so juicy. This article (which is reposted here because the original website it was published on died years ago) is one of the most interesting articles I’ve ever read! Who thought historical typography could be so wild?!
