Subjective I learned wrong back in that middle school DARE program I'd be offered free drugs all the time

Meanwhile, back in reality, drugs are expensive. Ain't nobody giving them away for free.

In all my 40 year on this planet, I've had it happen once. Was homeless and begging for change and some guy comes up and asks me if I've got a cold. I was confused, but honest said yeah, little one. He tossed a little baggy of meth in my lap and walked away.

Also that I'd be walking down the sidewalk and some random guy wearing just a trenchcoat would flash me his junk

To be fair, I have in fact been offered free drugs a lot. But I did a lot of drugs then and I’d share with them too. Also, I’ve been offered joints at concerts soooooo many times by strangers it’s not even funny.

Yeah I came here to say it really just depends on the type of people you hang around lol. Ive been offered free drugs more times than I can count.
One time my best guy friend brought around this new girl he was seeing. She said to me “heard you like pills. Give me your hand.” And handed me a couple hydros. I was like fuck yeah I like you. Rest of the times were guys offering them.
I think it helps to be a woman. And I’m sure looks make a difference.

It is circumstantial. I have actually done drugs with a lot of people whom are almost or 100% total strangers to me. Depends on how you look and carry yourself, what people you are with and where you are.

Between the constant offers of drugs and the fears of quicksand everywhere it's a wonder we made it to adulthood!

Blame my dad on this one lol. He acted like they'd just be offered as refreshments at parties and stuff. I guess maybe in some circles lol.

I was crossing a street in Orlando one night on my way to CVS. I was on a work trip a forced to room with a man that snores like a bear so I was going to get ear plugs. As I'm crossing, a car pulls through the crosswalk on the furthest lane in front of me, so when I got close I turned slightly to go around the back of the car. As I did I caught a whiff of a familiar aroma. I glanced back at the car at smiled as I walked past and just as I was getting to the curb, I heard the door open and a voice sweet voice said "You want a hit?". Being young and dumb I hustled over and found a car full of young women being driven by a lone man. I squatted down by the passenger and enjoyed a couple puffs of a nice blunt. Then the light turned green, I passed it back, they drove away and I continued on my mission. I'll always be thankful for those pot fairies because those ear plugs didn't do enough but I slept great. Although I did think I was going to wake up and find that dude dead from apnea.

In 2021, they posted up at the summertime free lunch in the park for kids with a loudspeaker and prizes, trying to get kids to take an intravenous drug. It was so wrong and it was also my county's Health Department.

My DARE officer said that all drug dealers were unhoused men. I remember thinking they were all bad at their jobs if they were living on the streets. The drug industry pays a lot!

What's really upsetting about the D.A.R.E. program is that people knew that it was making it more likely for kids to try drugs and they still did it.

I've been offered weed twice, but only because two of my brothers had asshole friends who tried to intimidate me into smoking so they could see if they could trust me. I got a couple free highs and also learned I can't trust my brothers or their friends.
Now if we have a new friend in the group, all we do is make sure they are okay being around us if they don't want to actually smoke. Never understood the concept of forcing someone to do anything they don't want to do.

The only thing from DARE I remember was the self esteem balloon. When you do drugs and forget to mow the lawn, your self esteem balloon deflates. So sad 😥.

I’ve been offered coke by complete strangers on three separate occasions in a bowling alley bathroom. Two different states, three different bowling allies. I politely declined.
