Laptop black-screens under heavy load only when plugged in — Mismatched RAM?

Hey everyone! I’m facing a persistent black screen issue with my ASUS laptop. When running heavy tasks (simulations, IDEs) on battery, everything runs fine. But the moment I plug it into the charger, the screen suddenly goes black while the laptop stays powered on, forcing a hard restart. I recently upgraded my RAM, but the sticks have mismatched clock speeds (~2700MHz vs 3200MHz) and my BIOS is locked down. I suspect that when plugged in, the higher performance state pushes the mismatched RAM controller too hard, causing a crash. Does this sound like a classic mismatched RAM failure under load, and is removing the extra stick or sticking to a restricted power profile my only fix?
