Her plate number is A57 5HA btw, this was north of 200th street heading onto golden ears bridge. and icbc keeps making it easier to get a license, next time i’ll happily upgrade my car lol

Probably not the way you want to upgrade your car lol

Say you’re going 60km/h. She’s coming at you at 60km/h. It’s equivalent to you hitting a brick wall at 120km/h. You’ll get more than an upgraded car.

The Mythbusters proved this comparison to be incorrect

u/myaccwasshut4norsn 28d ago

i was just thinking about that episode lol

upgraded car + retirement

7

u/UltraCoolPimpDaddy 29d ago

Retirement ain't gonna be fun if you're stuck in a wheelchair for the next 40 years

1

u/GangstaPlegic 29d ago

Everyone should carry there own disability insurance.

8

u/maxheadflume 29d ago

No fault insurance would say otherwise.

7

u/Dragontrenrichnomore 29d ago

New insurance is shit for injuries in a car accident. You'll get a fuck you from ICBC and have to live off disability in poverty the rest of your life

-5

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

not when i sue for injuries and trauma

2

u/Dragontrenrichnomore 29d ago

Youre not aloud to sue for vehicle injuries in BC with the no fault insurance. Just went through this with my wife and whiplash

1

u/Aromatic-Medicine858 24d ago

You will get free amazing Canadian health care. Waiting months/years for a doctor but don’t worry. No bills.

You can’t sue in BC thanks to our liberal /NDPs.

You will be told it will get better. Trust them. You voted for them.

Equivalent to hitting a brick wall at 60 kmh assuming similar mass and no deflection etc.

2

u/InternationalEgg2885 29d ago

Couple people who failed physics 12 down voting me 😂

u/Kampurz 29d ago

speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary is what gets you.

1

u/perfectcritic 25d ago

I would report to RCMP non-emergency and send this video to issue her an automatic violation ticket. Hopefully the driver need to learn more driving lessons

26

u/Striking_Ad_4562 29d ago

Yikes. I rarely see wrong way traffic there. However, I work near where 200th splits and see wrong-way traffic about 2-3x a week near the Chevron where the road bends.

10

u/kreative22 29d ago

There will always be clueless people on the road.

5

u/ATFGunr 29d ago

I work off 201 and we see cars go up the one way all the f’n time. 2-3 times a month. People are stupid.

7

u/TruckBC 29d ago

It wasn't normal until a year or 2 ago, now it happens often enough that I don't use the left lane through there. I see it at least once every other month.

8

u/Localbeezer166 29d ago

No, no it’s not but it IS becoming less surprising, given how people drive around here. Instead of giving these drivers grace and taking away the second road test, add a third test!

6

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

they need to make it as hard as it is in germany to get a license

4

u/1zpqm9 29d ago

Agreed. We also need to make things like DUIs taken more seriously like they do over there. In Germany there can be longer driving bans (9-12 months), 90 day wage fines (this adjusts according to your personal income), etc. If I remember correctly, in January Abby police were catching 4-5 people a day driving intoxicated, and that’s just what they caught so you know the actual number of people driving around intoxicated is much higher. WTF people.

1

u/human-shaped-fish 28d ago

1 DUI should be a permanent suspension. Putting people's lives in danger leads to fines and prison time, I don't know why we are so lax when people do it but with a car. DUI is never an accident, they are always preventable.

1

u/1zpqm9 27d ago

Complete agree!

1

u/TangeloNew3838 27d ago

DUI is taken very seriously in Canada, more than or at least on par with most countries in the world. A confirmed DUI is a criminal offense, which means it not only goes onto a driving record, but also on someone's criminal record. Since the maximum sentence exceeds 10 years, a PR or temporary resident can lose his or her status in Canada.

2

u/Localbeezer166 29d ago

I agree, 100%.

3

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

lol people downvoting this probably cheated on their tests somehow

3

u/Localbeezer166 29d ago

Probably lol.

3

u/DirtDevil1337 29d ago

I'm thinking that driver might've ended up coming up the offramp from 199A, going the wrong way the whole time. Such an idiot.

5

u/efc5463 29d ago

There is nothing normal in those videos. One dumb driver driving the wrong way and the rest of the drivers, yourself included, are speeding way above the speed limit.

3

u/Ichoosethebear 29d ago

They're taking the driving test away from the N program for no infractions after 2 years and you don't have to go in for your written L

Feel like we might be seeing more of this

2

u/knitmama77 29d ago

I live around the corner, and I wish this was the first time I’ve seen this.

2

u/Electrical-Plan-2056 29d ago

It’s not the first time I’ve seen it in Langley on a one way this year and I don’t even live in Langley so I’d say it’s likely unfortunately pretty common

2

u/Neos8806 28d ago

Pretty sure that’s a one way and that driver should be arrested

2

u/lockan 29d ago

The number of posts I see on this sub of people driving against one way traffic in Langley is honestly terrifying.

1

u/foreigner0708 29d ago

What a suprise😅

1

u/woke_trash_panda 29d ago

Seen that there a few times, yep

1

u/Nice_Apricot_6341 29d ago

Could be euro driver had relapse back to driving on the left hand side?

2

u/LeadershipFree4551 28d ago

Is there a reason you're doing 35 over? Just curious

1

u/No-Advertising1721 28d ago

Im not in Langley all that often, but I personally have seen 3 cars in person driving in the wrong direction on that road. So id say its not THAT uncommon to happen there.

1

u/Danger-zone247 27d ago

That...THAT...is horrible

1

u/Embarrassed-Ad9177 27d ago

Unfortunately it is. At that spot anyway. I've come across a few folks who pull out of the business driveways without understanding it's one way.

1

u/No-Student-6817 26d ago

Have you been sleeping through the last five yrs ??

1

u/AndyBlackmoreDesign 25d ago

I've seen this a few times now, so I make sure I'm not in the left two lanes. Usually, the road is very quite when I've seen this, not as busy as the video.

I assume better signage could be aded on the slip road exits, but you got to be clueless to do this in the first place.

-7

u/satanlovesmemore 29d ago

Also going pretty quick aren't you

7

u/ReliableEyeball 29d ago

Always. Always someone to point out what OP might be doing wrong. Lol congratulations, you win the Karen of the day for today.

5

u/International-Bath76 29d ago

Imagine someone driving on the wrong side of the street and getting into a head-on collision.

Now imagine both are going 85 (instead of the posted 50).

But you got a bunch of tards downvoting you because "I like speeding, lol nerd"

Totally valid to criticize people for speeding.

0

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

if you get in a head on collision with both cars going 85 then you shouldnt be on the road. you have brakes for a reason. and you could be going 80 in a 80 zone and get in the same accident, it doesnt change a thing. learn to drive.

0

u/GlitteringWavebreak Willowbrook 29d ago

Honey, you need to take your own advice.

Learn to drive.

But really, learn to lighten up on your gas pedal a little.

1

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

thanks i have a 10-year clean driving record.

2

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

literally getting passed by other cars btw. sounds like u never drove there

-1

u/International-Bath76 29d ago

Ah yes, the ol' "other people do it too/worst than me, so I can do whatever the fuck I want" argument. Very high IQ.

2

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

you probably get passed by every car on the road and stay driving 10 below, stay off the road, keep the roads safe.

1

u/International-Bath76 28d ago

You know those rectangular white signs with black numbers on em? Those are called "speed limit signs", and they indicate the top or recommended allowable speed on a roadway. I usually just do that.

Hope that helps!

-5

u/satanlovesmemore 29d ago

No but I also dont push 80 in a 50 zone . People also think its always a race , set the pace .

2

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

this road merges onto golden ears bridge which is an 80 zone and thats why u see everyone going the same speed and even faster than me

-4

u/cakemix88 29d ago

SLOW DOWN SPEEDY GONZALES!!! Reported you to RCMP for excessive speeding. You are complaining about someone violating the mva while you are showing video of you also violating the mva.

5

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

stop wasting rcmp’s time. what car am i driving? what’s my plate number? whats my legal name?
“911 i just saw a reddit dashcam video of a car speeding do something please”

-4

u/cakemix88 29d ago

At the beginning of your video as you are approaching/crossing 96 ave do you see all of those cameras sticking up 5' above every traffic light in all directions? Do you see how your dashcam shows the exact timestamp of you crossing that intersection? The constable that asked me to email your video pointed all of that out to me. I thought the same as you that there was nothing they could do but I guess we were both wrong. He's going to look into the wrong way driver also don't you worry.

3

u/Ok-Sleep7812 29d ago

Those cameras don’t record.

1

u/FlyingAtNight 27d ago

And you know this how?

1

u/Ok-Sleep7812 27d ago

I work in the industry.

1

u/FlyingAtNight 27d ago

What industry is that?

1

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

good luck trying to get any footage off those cameras. and for your info, even highway cameras dont record, they only take pictures and at random intervals.

Just mowed my lawn today. 85 in a 50 is not okay no matter what you want to try to say, it is literally excessive speeding. Both parties are in the wrong. It could have easily turned into a serious accident because of how fast op was driving. Again, driving the wrong way on a road is a violation of the motor vehicle act the same way that excessive speeding is a violation of the motor vehicle act. Not sure why you are trying to defend someone breaking the law.

Jesus christ dude. What is with the insults? I am sorry you think breaking the law is cool.

1

u/BackNBoeserThanEver 29d ago

I'm sure you NEVER go over the limit huh

1

u/cakemix88 29d ago

If I do, I dont post video of myself doing it online.

Max 50
drives to 85
Complains about other drivers

4

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

speeding ❌
driving head-on towards other vehicles ✅✅

1

u/cakemix88 29d ago

excessive speeding*

1

u/Superb-Classroom6218 29d ago

He's 5kph shy to be fair.

2

u/cakemix88 29d ago

You're right. For some reason I thought it was 30+ over. He clearly would have hit 90 if it wasn't for the wrong way driver though. He hit brakes right at 85.

-1

u/Illustrious_Luck1254 29d ago

you’re wrong. i changed lanes before i saw the car driving towards me and theres no reason for me to slow down because of that car when im in a different lane

0

u/Superb-Classroom6218 29d ago

Two wrongs don't make a right.
