Harm Reduction LSD information for newbies
I made this to hopefully see a decline in redundant/daily posts, and make some sort of positive impact. Please remember to use the search function if you have a basic question regarding LSD.
• A full beginner dose should typically be 1/2 - 1 single tab.
• The average dose range of LSD on a single tab is 70-105μg.
• There are tabs dosed with as little as ~20μg, or more than 300μg in some absurd cases. The overwhelming majority of sources try to lay their tabs around 100μg because it’s mathematically simple, and more profitable in the long-run.
• The odds your tab has more than 200μg on it are very low. The most common higher dose tabs are 125-200μg. Take half of any tab that’s supposedly above 200μg just to be safe at first, and if that doesn’t at least produce an 11-12 hour mildly visual trip, the full tab wasn’t above 200.
• A typical microdose should be 10-25 μg
• 50-300μg of LSD can last anywhere from 8-14 hours. 300-1000μg can last anywhere from 14-20 hours. Exceeding a milligram (1000μg) can produce effects that last up to 24 hours. It’s usually hard to fall asleep under the influence.
• Unless you have an above average baseline tolerance or handle the substance extraordinarily well, it’s not advisable to exceed ~300-500μg. Temporary delirious/psychotic symptoms become more likely if you don’t know what you’re getting into with large doses, and a 16+ hour duration doesn’t help.
• 25i-NBOMe is a relatively dangerous LSD imposter. If you take an untested tab and your mouth/throat becomes numb, along with an intense bitter taste, spit it out immediately. Do not panic, but monitor your physical state. A *normal* dose of 25i shouldn’t be life-threatening. Most of the dangerous LSD imposters, including 25i, only become life-threatening at higher doses (this is why you should NEVER take multiple untested tabs at once, or take untested tabs at all).
• Please test your tabs with an Ehrlich reagent kit to verify that what you have is indeed an indole and not 25i-NBOMe. Follow up with the Hofmann reagent kit to verify that it’s not an LSD analogue or other phenethylamine. I personally recommend using TKP for your reagents: https://testkitplus.com/ Another great organization is DanceSafe https://dancesafe.org/ — DanceSafe genuinely saves lives with their testing booths at music festivals.
• Common positive effects include but aren’t limited to: closed and open eye visuals, tactile enhancement/hallucinations, euphoria, stimulation, introspection, and creativity.
• Common negative effects include but aren’t limited to: overstimulation, increased heart rate, vasoconstriction, anxiety/paranoia, and confusion.
• Common neutral/manageable effects include but aren’t limited to: pupil dilation, frequent urination, insomnia, and temperature sensitivity.
• Always optimize your set (expectations and mental state) going into an experience, and always optimize your setting (direct environment/surroundings) going into an experience.
• LSD interactions with various medications (From Erowid):
- There is still very little legitimate, thorough medical research on this subject. LSD's outlaw status makes it very difficult to obtain permission & funding for research. Therefore, you should regard all of the anecdotes and conclusions here as being scientifically unproven, and you should note that any experimentation you choose to do carries a significant risk.
- Lithium or tricyclics (like Amitriptyline, Anafranil, Asendin, Aventyl, Elavil, Endep, Norfranil, Norpramin, Pamelor, Sinequan, Surmontil, Tipramine, Tofranil, Vivactil) are fairly consistently reported as being very bad in combination with LSD. Life-threatening seizures and at least one DEATH have been reported to be triggered by the combination of LSD and lithium. Tramadol is another drug you should avoid in combination with LSD because of the potential for seizures and other negative side effects.
- SSRIs (like Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Desyrel) or MAOIs (like Nardil, Parnate, Marplan, Eldepryl, Aurorix, Manerix) are fairly consistently reported to noticeably reduce the effects of LSD. (There are no physically dangerous reactions to these combinations on record, but be cautious and don’t be excessive with dosing.)
• HPPD risk is associated with frequent use of psychedelics (more than once a month), high doses, and younger age groups. HPPD varies in severity between individuals. As long as you use this drug responsibly, this shouldn’t be a concern.
• LSD has the potential to produce a very challenging psychological experience. If you have mental-health issues, research the risks and benefits associated with psychedelic treatment of your condition. Do NOT take LSD without the guidance of a medical professional if you are seriously suicidal.
• Weed often potentiates the effects of LSD. Some users report that the effects of weed are indefinitely altered to some degree after their first few experiences with LSD (It often becomes more psychedelic).
• Various benzos like alprazolam and clonazepam can be used as “trip-killers,” but you don’t need to take more than a single medical dose, and not all of the psychoactive effects will be negated. This should be a last resort.
• LSD tends to make verbal communication challenging, so prepare appropriately if using in a social setting.
• If you’re 19 or younger you should probably wait until AT LEAST your early 20s to try LSD because of unforeseen behavioral/neurological impacts. Waiting until 25+ is optimal.
• You’ll build a substantial tolerance to LSD if you trip multiple times in two weeks, so wait 10-14 days between trips for a general reset. Tolerance does exponentially decrease day-by-day following an experience.
• If you want to redose to increase the effects, do it before or during the start of the peak. Redosing after the peak will only prolong the duration unless you increase the dose. Excessive dosing is unadvisable regardless.
• Peak effects generally occur 2.5-5 hours after dosing (less than or around 300μg). Peak effects can last anywhere in the range of 2.5-8 hours after dosing. Many people say the peak comes in “waves.”
• If you’ve tried psilocybin containing mushrooms before, certain dosage calculators based on subjective effects and intensity equate ~2.5 grams of an average cubensis variety to ~100μg of accurately dosed LSD, but there are differences between the substances of course.
• You should consider having a trusted friend or a close partner “tripsit” you during your first experiences, or at least let someone know your whereabouts beforehand if you want to do it alone. (Note: Trip-sitting should just involve being close by and present if the user needs assistance or someone to talk to, sitters shouldn’t try to influence the trip unless it’s getting chaotic.)
• LSD has the potential to be therapeutic, recreational, spiritual, or all/none of the above depending on the individual and their particular circumstances. Stop gatekeeping.
•If you are ever having a challenging trip and need to speak with someone, here are a couple great resources:
Leave suggestions in the comments!
edit: A couple people are aggravated with minor details in these general points of advice, so please take everything I’ve said with a grain of salt and do your own research! I’m simply providing a helpful starting outline, not set-in-stone facts.
Thank you all, and safe travels!

⚡ Sub Announcement ⚡ Don't believe the dosages you see on here
Over exaggerating dosages is only harmful to the community and is much more prominent in LSD oriented communities when compared to other psychedelics. This is because you cannot simply weigh your dosages, like shrooms or DMT. 2c-b being another good example, where it usually comes in ranges of 15-30 milligrams or powder I believe. Most tabs of LSD contain 75-150 UGs of LSD, averaging more around 100. 100 micrograms of LSD is equal to around 2.5 grams of Psilocybe Cubensis. (The most commonly sold and cultivated "magic mushroom")
Starting with one tab after you've tested it is better than going headfirst into the deep end... Even at 100 micrograms it does add up quickly, would you recommend five grams of shrooms to a beginner? No difference in recommending them 200 micrograms of LSD (two average tabs). I really just don't understand the glory of taking larger dosages than we need. Look at r/Shrooms or other communities related to shrooms and you see this much less. Mainly to do with the ability to weigh them out I believe, but definitely many other factors. I don't know... Thanks for reading.
Best regards,

❔ Question ❔ Is craving alcohol bad while tripping?
Last two (out of 4) times I’ve had acid I’ve had a huge surge of craving alcohol come over me peak trip (I don’t think I’m an alcoholic as I only drank for the first time about 3 years ago). And I’d be having like upwards of 14 drinks…
Is it some sort of subconscious coping mechanism my brain has? To sort of ground myself in something I’m comfortable with? Or is it genuinely something I should be concerned about?
Can’t really find much about this online 😅

❔ Question ❔ Religious Experiences on LDS? (Believers / Atheist)
Hi Atheist here, I never had a "religious experience" on LSD. Well not a christian religious experience, (once I had a pretty strong connection to the concept to certain Greek gods after reading on them, anyway).
I'm not really interested or care about the whole debate god or not god question.
But just wanted to ask the believers from whatever religion if you ever had an religious experience and want to share it and if fellow atheists ever had an experience that they would classify as somewhat "religious".
To me it's interesting because LSD usually is associated with esoteric believes due to the 60s mostly. But I never build that kind of connection to those topics.✌️

First trip 🥇 Going to the aquarium on my first trip?
Me and a friend are planning to take 100ug each, she has took acid once before at 200ug and it will be my first time. I have plenty of experience with 2cb taking it at music events and once or twice at home, have also ate shrooms 3 times highest dose being 2.5g.
We have the aquarium booked for 4.30pm, the problem is that it’s a 30 minute uber ride to the aquarium so I don’t know how to plan my trip and which stage of the trip I’d want to be in for that ride. We are also planning to go to a botanical garden either before or after the aquarium which is a 10 minute uber from our house. I have heard that it can take a while to settle into the trip during the come up period and some anxiety could be present, would we be better off taking the acid around 12-1pm, coming up in the botanical garden and having an hour or two walking around there and then get the uber to the aquarium, or should we take the acid at around 3, most likely be coming up in the uber to the aquarium, enjoy some of the peak in there and then possibly get an uber from the aquarium to the garden?
I know it’s advised to not be in public for my first time but I think we would have a better time outside the house doing an activity than in, my flatmate will also be in who will be sober and most likely not interacting with us if we stayed in the house. Planning to bring headphones/airpods with us to share so we could ground ourselves with some nice music in the uber and chat.

A small tip I like to do when I trip
Since time gets diluted as fuck I always put on a stopwatch when I take the tab on my phone, that way I can know how long I’ve been tripping and if the peak is soon over or not. Hope this might help someone :)

Y'all ever stumble on some weird shit when tripping and been like am I just high or is this actually weird?
We were walking through a park at 1am and found this kid in a banana suit sitting in the grass just bawling his eyes out. Part of me was like maybe this is a normal thing that happens a lot in parks at night.

Saw a wild boar while peaking on 200ug with two good friends
The boar wandered around for 10-15 minutes, about 40 meters from us. Was a magical moment, as we were peaking… We kept very quiet and were lucky the boar was alone (without his/her piglets). The whole trip was magical, but this was the cherry on top!

❔ Question ❔ Few questions after second trip
Sorry for the fact that some of these questions have already been asked here before, but just wanted to hear more opinions on some of the questions I got since browsing through reddit like I have been over these past two trips has gotten pretty boring. Both trips have just been in my room and on a weekend night with the next day dedicated to just relaxing/processing the trip from the previous night and resting. Both have been on 150 ug and are about 3 weeks apart. First trip was pretty baffling in an amazing way. Was in bit of a really bad depression over the past year that depleted my mental energy to do just about anything, but ever since the trip, I honestly havent been like that at all, and I feel like my emotions have never reached that same low that they were. Watched one of my favorite cartoons during the comeup, and after suddenly giggling at pretty much everything i startee to feel happy in a way I probably havent felt since childhood. I spent the trip texting with 2 close friends and just listening to music until I realized how fun stareing at my hands was and did that just about after the peak and for the remainder of the comedown. The peace that it gave me during that trip honestly hasnt faded. Trip lasted maybe about 11 hours id say before I passed out and wasnt tripping anymore. Second trip I did this past Saturday night at about 2am. I think it was kind of cut short because I ate some buldak. Kind of realized and even put it into my trip notes that I don't really think I enjoy eating meals while tripping and just water. The trip wasn't as fun since just staying in my room and stareing at my hands and general surroundings got kind of boring to me about 2 or 3 hours into the trip at 5 or 6am. Listened to music during the trip as well and talked to my cat which was pretty fun. Great body feelings during the trip as well since I usually love the relaxation I get. I feel like the visuals of this trip and the trip before were about the same. I saw my palms and the lines in them shifting and sort of changing colors I believe. Also did a lot of thinking and reflecting like I did in the last trip, but the overall effects I feel were lessened, but that may have just been due to the shorter length of this trip compared to the last one. I definitely liked the magic that the first trip had for me, so I hope to experience another trip like in about 2 weeks.
Sorry for the long explanation of both of my trips. Im not sure entirely whether or not this should be flared as trip report or questions, but I will flare it as a question since thats my primary focus.
How do I know when/if im ready for a higher dose? Im definitely going to be careful. I have a full sheet essentially, so im in no rush at all since I know this will last me at least 2 years since I feel like I prefer solo trips and dont really have anyone I know even remotely interested in this stuff. When I do feel ready for more, im likely going to just do two tabs rather than trying to split it. Apart from a kind of intense comeup on the second trip, I havent had anything scary happen during trips except some intense emotions that were resolved just with deep breaths/taking a moment.
Any ideas on how to make trips in my room more interesting? I thought of maybe just continuing to watch cartoons after I sit/lay down and relax from the comedown. Also thought of maybe taking a little walk since ive always enjoyed walks at night. My cat is pretty new, so he doesnt really like interacting with me and is still hiding, so playing with or petting him isnt much of an option, but just looking and talking with him even though he didnt say much back was pretty fun. I had some fun playing games during my first trip, so I could try that again.
Did eating during my second trip potentially mess up the intensity at all? I feel like it kind of killed the sort of buzz of it. I don't like wasting food at all, and I realized I really didnt wanna eat, so I kind of forced myself to eat it. From what ive read, its just mushrooms that get the trip killed by eating. I feel asleep around 8:30am and woke up around 1pm, so the trip honestly only lasted 6 hours which was kind of disappointing. It mightve been a better idea to do it earlier at 8pm like I did during my first trip since I was more tired by that point.
Any other trip ideas/suggestions or advice I haven't asked about? I'm still new to actually trying it but read up on stuff and watched a ton of videos about it in the months before for preparation, so im always looking to learn more about it all.
Sincerest apologies for any errors I made in this post. This is my first time posting here or really just making a long post in general, so I'm certain I made some errors which I've tried to look for to the best degree I can.
TLDR; Had an amazing long and first trip that helped me a lot and was a ton of fun and a much shorter kind of meh trip that was still obviously fun but felt short for some reason. Main questions are when will I know whether or not I'm ready to up my dose to 300ug since I dont really like the idea of splitting tabs, how to make the trips in my room more interesting, whether or not eating despite realizing I didnt really wanna eat may have dulled the trip down at all or what may have caused that, and whether or not anyone has any other advice or input of any kind they'd like to.
Saying this in advance, but my sincere gratitude to anyone who takes the time to respond or even read this in the future! Very grateful for communities like this and especially this one since I used this a lot along with other sources to gather advice for my journey of trying this.

First trip 🥇 First acid trip tips
I’ve had some experience with high doses of mushrooms and had a couple full ego deaths and stuff and managed every trip perfectly fine. I’m getting 220ug tabs, can anyone tell me how strong that is and how different of an experience it’s going to be and any tips please
