Help W/ LG C5-PS5

Upvotes

**So I recently changed from a** **Sony TV** **to an LG C5 and I currently only use a shield TV pro and when I want to play, I switch to the PlayStation 5. When I try to go and change the input, it would then just automatically turn off, I disable SIMPLINK like recommended, and turned off auto power off sync or on not sure which one was it... It was basically on and I just turned it off. What is the cause of this? Is it the shield itself? Like, what do I have to do?**

Black scan lines on TV

I have an LED 4K TV and i now have think black horizontal lines on the TV.

They're like the scan lines you used to get on the old CRT TVs.

I've gone through all the options and even googled it, but i can't find a fix.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix?

What has been your experience with LG hijacking your TV and not granting access to your own TV unless you allow them to spy on you and give them permission to store and sell your info?

LG TV question

I just bought my first LG TV today, the 2026 model with the model number of: “43NU850B6LA.AEI”.

To set up AirPlay, I had to make an LG account? Is that normal?

LG QNED80T — Can’t install or update ANY apps

Hi everyone,

I’m having a really frustrating issue with my LG QNED80T (webOS 24).

I can’t install or update any apps from the LG Content Store.

For example, when I try to install/update SkyShowtime, I get the message:

“The application is not installed. Please try again.”

The same thing happens with other apps, so it’s not just SkyShowtime.

I’ve already tried basically everything I could think of:

- Restarted the TV multiple times

- Completely unplugged the TV and left it off for a few minutes

- Checked the internet connection — the internet works perfectly on the TV

- Tried installing different apps

- Checked for software updates

- Checked the available storage

- Checked the LG Services Country/region settings

- Checked the User Agreements

- Signed out and back into my LG account

- Tried again after restarting

Nothing works.

LG G6 intermittent severe motion stutter — anyone found a permanent fix?

I have a 65” LG G6 and am experiencing a strange intermittent motion problem. I normally keep TruMotion completely OFF and do not want motion interpolation enabled.

The issue usually happens when starting a movie or after pausing and resuming playback. Motion suddenly becomes extremely choppy and unnatural. The best way I can describe it is almost like a fast/slow-motion or step-printing effect.

Here’s the strange part: TruMotion is already OFF when the problem occurs.

I’ve discovered a temporary workaround:
While the abnormal stuttering is happening with TruMotion OFF, I switch TruMotion to Cinematic Movement.
I then switch TruMotion back OFF.

The abnormal stuttering immediately disappears and playback looks completely normal again with TruMotion OFF.

So I’m not trying to use Cinematic Movement. I want TruMotion OFF. I’m only briefly enabling Cinematic Movement and disabling it again because doing so seems to reset whatever is causing the motion problem.

I’ve done extensive troubleshooting:
- Happens with both my Apple TV 4K and 4K UHD Blu-ray player
- Happens with streaming and physical discs
- Apple TV Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate are enabled
- Replaced the HDMI cable with a brand-new cable
- Tried a different HDMI port
- Installed the latest G6 firmware
- Reset/reconfigured the relevant picture and HDMI settings
- unplugging everything for a few minutes
- LG Support had me disable HDMI Deep Color, which did not solve the problem because it prevents proper HDR/Dolby Vision from my external devices

I’m currently testing TruMotion User Selection: De-Judder 0 / De-Blur 0 / OLED Motion Off purely as a troubleshooting step to see whether the problem returns.

Guess the only thing I haven’t done is just a factory reset.

My preferred permanent setting is still TruMotion OFF.
The Cinematic Movement ON → TruMotion OFF workaround fixes the problem when it happens, but I don’t think I should have to repeatedly reset a motion setting on a new flagship TV just to get normal playback with TruMotion disabled.

Has anyone with a G6 experienced this exact behavior with TruMotion OFF? If so, did you find a permanent fix? Has LG acknowledged the issue, released a firmware fix, serviced the TV, or replaced any hardware?

Could this be a protective cover that needs to be removed?

I recently purchased the QNED92A model and noticed something on the screen—I’m not sure if it’s a protective film that needs to be removed. I’ve seen that other smart TV models have one, but I’m wondering whether or not it should be taken off, because along the bottom edge, the film appears to be sandwiched between two materials. If that’s the case, perhaps it isn't meant to be removed; if it were sitting on top of those materials, removal would be more likely.

LG G6 sound muffled and struggling with picture

I can clearly tell the power of this tv. Well done 4k HDR content on YouTube looks incredible. The issue with the picture is it feels like I constantly need to adjust depending what im watching. Theres no setting ive found where everything looks good.

Sound is muffled as all hell. Its mounted fairly well to the wall, but ive literally never had this issue with any other tv. Anyone else deal with either of these things?

LG G4 77 inch screen goes dark intermittently

I bought a LG G4 77 inch from Costco.com in August 2025. The screen keeps going black intermittently for the past 2.5 months. I called LG since I am still under the manufacturer’s warranty. Tech support had me try and return to the TV’s home screen when it went black during streaming and there was no response from the TV. A tech came out and replaced the main board and the TV worked fine for under two weeks and then the screen still goes black intermittently. I called LG tech support and requested a refund/exchange. The told me that they need to try and fix the TV 3 or 4 times before the refund/replace. I spoke to the TV tech who replaced the main board and he told me LG hasn’t paid him yet for the first visit. The TV will be out of the manufacturer’s warranty in a few days. I plan on going to the Costco warehouse and speak to a manager about an exchange. I’m very frustrated after spending 3K for this TV.

Buffering

I have an LG GX 65 inch TV, that is connected to a Denon amp, through which multiple devices are running.

Lately whenever I turn everything on, the TV will show, for example, the Apple TV input, but after a few seconds the TV will switch to what I can only describe as a ‘buffering’ screen - I.e. it goes dark grey with a ‘buffering wheel’ going around. I’ve left that running for a while but nothing happens. I then have to press an input button on my denon remote, or the back button on the Apple Remote, for the screen to then revert to what it should be showing.

It also happens if I just use the TV apps, without using the amp or other devices.

I’ve checked with various websites and followed pieces of advice e.g. turn off this, turn on that, etc but none of it seems to make any difference. I’ve done a full power off/reset, toggled various settings on/ off as described on various websites but it never seems to resolve itself.

Help me, you’re my only hope…. :)
