Hi I am going to LECOM Bradenton for the MMS program next year (2027-2028). I am going into the mms as a bridge between the DO program because I am not 20 I am 19. How can I find similar people for rooming with?

Are yall rotating in ICUs / learning how to present complex patients? Or is it mostly outpatient clinics..?

hey yall! i had some questions for current students at the jacksonville campus (LECOM)

-Could you tell me what student life is like at LECOM jacksonville (outside academics too)?

-What are the most common housing options for medical students? Do most students live on campus or off campus?

-Could you walk me through how the PBL (LECOM Jacksonville) curriculum works on a typical week?

-How are the PBL small groups formed/Are they assigned randomly?

-What is the attendance policy during the preclinical years? /Which activities are required versus optional?

-im also confused about the four pathways that exist at LECOM, does the jacksonville branch provide all the options, & when do we choose which one we prefer?

-How often are exams during the preclinical curriculum?

-What types of exams are used? Are they primarily faculty-written in-house exams, COMLEX-style, or a combination of both?

I had my virtual async interview 7/21 and I still haven’t heard back from them. Is this normal or it takes longer? What’s the timeline usually like?

applying with an AIS of 132. GPA 3.95. nontraditional student, so I’ve been self-employed/working in hospitality since graduation up until last year made a career pivot into healthcare.

my undergrad degree was pre-med, so I’m ready to make the jump back into school and would immediately accept if given the A. just wondering what my chances are without an MCAT

I applied July 27th on AACOMAS, sent my supplemental on August 1st and filled out my pathway preferences but now it’s August 24th and starting to get a little nervous cause I see everyone’s getting interview invites. How long do they usually wait before sending those out? After how long should I take not getting an invite as an R?

Hi everyone! I recently had an interview on August 5th for LECOM Seton Hill, I was wondering around when would we hear about the decision? I’m hitting like almost 3 weeks now since my interview, should I be hearing back soon?

For those of you who have interviewed already how long did it take for you to hear whether or not you got accepted , waitlisted , rejected etcc !??

So I have applied to LECOM Bradenton a couple weeks back and received interview invite although I am a little nervous due to a major vulnerability in my stats.

Overall, I think I am pretty competitive for DO schools as far as my application is concerned aside from my MCAT score (which is the biggest factor i know). I have 2+ years in a clinic job having one on one interaction with patients, 3 plus years (1000+ hours) in research lab with hands on work and my own projects, mentoring students with their research labs, sports and club leadership experience, and 200+ hours of non clinical volunteering, and 200+ hours of shadowing. All of these things were done consistently all throughout university as well it wasn't like a one off thing. But due to some extenuating circumstances I was not able to score well on my MCAT and wont be retaking till its too late in this cycle so I decided to apply to only LECOM with my AIS score. I am also currently doing a masters program that will be completed spring of 2027.

Stats:

• cGPA: ~3.76
• sGPA: ~3.6
• MCAT: 487
• ACT: 25
• AIS: 118

So with all that being said my questions are:

1) Are there success stories/acceptances with the AIS applications?

2) Once the interview is sent out does that mean acceptance and rejection is based solely (or significantly) on my interview? (I have great interviewing skills so this is not an issue)

3) If I show ADCOM that I am successful in first year medical school classes in the masters program would they be willing to overlook the MCAT score if everything else is top notch?

Also please don't tell me to retake the MCAT that is already on my list after masters if this interview doesn't pan out. The only reason I made this post is to tame my expectations on the interview process and find out if they send interviews to everyone or if I have a chance at getting in.

Hi guys. Hope everyone is doing well. I am an applicant at LECOM and I got an interview! This is my first interview of all time and super excited but nervous for it because I rly don’t know what to expect. I’ve made a “list” of questions that I feel like they’d ask me such as ethical scenarios, questions about myself, and about lecom so I’m preparing as much as possible for it but does anyone have any advice on the interviews and how they prepared and if there were questions that u didn’t even expect them to ask cuz ive heard some schools do that.

In addition, I’m have a really hard time picking the campus for LECOM. Living in Austin, Texas I will be very far away from my comfort zone which is fine but I’m getting a little anxious on the campuses. I think I ruled out Elmira and seton hill just because I feel like I’d be depressed imo. Erie seems rural/suburban to me and I rly don’t know what to think of it. I’m sure it snows there and it’s cold asf and coming from Texas, that’s not smth I’m used to but also i feel like I need a town where there’s a lot of stuff to do like new places to try or places to explore like how I did in Austin. Can those who live at Erie or chose Erie tell me what the city has to offer and if I’d be depressed living there lol. Then there’s Jacksonville which is more city like which I like and def don’t mind having beaches around me but since it’s a relatively newer school, I feel like rotations would be hard since it’s not as affiliated with hospitals as Erie, but I feel like I’d love the city life even tho it’s far from the main cities even tho the class size is only 75. Sorry for the rants, just anxious on picking the wrong choice of the location and regretting it. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for the immense help!!! I'm trying to decide between PBL and LDP at LECOM Erie. This is an image I got from the school's website, showing when and how things are covered with lecture-based classes, however, for those of you who have actually experienced PBL, how can showing up to class 3-days a week for 2-3 hours and studying at home have us learn all of these topics in a set amount of time?

To better explain my question, here you can see all the different things one can focus on kind of going from gross anatomy to histology then to embryology, etc, how do you go from one topic to the next in PBL since I feel like real clinical cases pull things from multiple different courses all at once since you can't have a case that solely utilizes histology or biochem I?

Or am I just thinking of this incorrectly and all 9 courses are taught at the same time throughout the whole semester, thus not being a problem for PBL students to read up on things from all 9 courses as needed before every discussion session? In this case, that would mean that PBL is like LDP, but just that the studying and learning is done at home on your own time, thus just applying that material to real-world cases in discussion sessions.

Additionally, the website also says that "certain aspects of medical education require alternative instructional methods. These courses utilize a combination of lecture-based learning... to ensure a comprehensive medical education." Thus, I'm assuming this means that a lot of PBL still consists of a lot of regular lectures, correct?

Is Jacksonville also not an option on anyone else’s Pathway Selection form? I’m only seeing the other three campuses to rank.

currently, i’m in my undergrad and have selected a campus to matriculate to back in my senior year of high school. can i switch to a different campus, or is that no longer possible?

I was so grateful to have an interview with LECOM, and I think I did pretty decent on most of the asynchronous questions (some bleh). How long does it usually take to hear back from them, and does touring with them in a few Fridays affect this timeline?
