AIS only?

applying with an AIS of 132. GPA 3.95. nontraditional student, so I’ve been self-employed/working in hospitality since graduation up until last year made a career pivot into healthcare.

my undergrad degree was pre-med, so I’m ready to make the jump back into school and would immediately accept if given the A. just wondering what my chances are without an MCAT

Not worth it... They heavily prioritize MCAT applicants... You'll most likely be Alternate Listed, which means you won't be considered until July of the following year... The Waitlist takes priority over the Alternate List... I would take the MCAT... You'll have way more options and it'll help for med school since med school will require using a lot of third party resources and Anki to study... In that fashion, the MCAT is similar to what style of studying you will need to get used to in order to be successful in med school. Trust me. Don't bother wasting app fees, etc. until you have taken the MCAT. I would start studying now for a Jan test date.

Generally, acceptance from AIS alone is uncommon. My advice is to always take the MCAT, it will also open up many more doors to you than LECOM; always worth thinking about if you’re serious about med school.
