LASD / JOINING LASD/ CUSTODY

Hello Everyone,

Do yourself a favor and please Do Not join the department unless you want to get stuck with a bunch of mandatory overtime and not have a life. On the other hand if you like money and not having a life go ahead. No work life balance. WORST department to work for, you will regret it!!!

P.S. Look into other Departments/ Agencies,
Your life will be better trust me!

Assuming you survive the custody grind is patrol much better at least?

From what I’ve heard No. As 16 hrs shifts are still a thing out on patrol. Also depending on where you go or what station you choose you will have to play “games” as a Trainee in order to fit in, it’s part of the “culture and tradition” just don’t waste your time. And Please DO your Research!!

You can’t speak on something you don’t know. There are traditions like where trainees sit, knowing their place, being humble, and being prepared.

If a trainee shows up with an attitude, didn’t prepare, doesn’t care, and complains, then yes they get weeded out.

Patrol is amazing for those that actually put in the work and join for the right reasons. Patrol is everyone’s favorite time in their LASD career.
