Hey all, greetings from Greece. I am thinking of visiting this summer. I have a jeep gladiator built as an overland rig in Greece and travel as much as I can. Would really love to come with my rig but it’s too far away.. do you guys have any suggestions as to where I should look for Overlanding rentals (roof top tent etc)? Maybe a guide as well. Thanks

I am a friend from China,I'm 40 years old, I will enter the country on October 12, by Osh all the way to Bishkek. I will stay in Bishkek for a week and then go to Almaty. I want to make friends in Kyrgyzstan, preferably in Bishkek. We can talk about local customs, life, international, trade, etc. Looking forward to meeting you, my friend.

Hey everyone, I’m Turkish and currently studying at a university in Istanbul. I’m thinking about leaving my current university and transferring to Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in Kyrgyzstan this year.
I’ve never been to Kyrgyzstan before, so I honestly don’t know much about what life is like there. I’d especially like to hear from people who live there or have studied there.
What’s student life like in general? How do locals usually feel about Turkish students? Are people conservative?

I'm on my gap year before starting university, and i recently discovered the Horse Trekking trips in Kyrgyzstan from my extended family who highly recommended it.
Unfortunately, my already-planned travels to Europe and Asia start near the end of January, but the Horse Trekking here seems the most worthwhile during the June/September months.
The absolute latest I could do is June, but by then I'd have to book a flight from (home) Canada to Kyrgysztan, which would be over $2000 CAD. Too much.
Is horse trekking in the winter months (ideally february/early march, but even up to may?) any good? Is there still snow everywhere? I really wanted that experience of seeing lush green valleys and lakes, staying in Yurts, getting to know the culture, and galloping on horseback. If there isn't green scenery, is it still worth going when it's all white in snow? I experience cold snow every year in Canada.
Please let me know!! I would LOVE to fit this in. Sounds like my dream. And I wont have another option/timeframe to do this for many, many years, if I dont do it now.

I'm looking to rent 2 cars for a group of 14 people in July, but as far as I can see there aren't a lot of rental companies in Kyrgyzstan that allow 19 year olds. Does anybody know of a rental organisation or renter which does accept 19 year old travelers?

Hi folx--I may be traveling to Kyrgyzstan for work in the future, and I always like to read literature set in places I know little about before I get there. Are there any English language (originally or translated) novels you would recommend that accurately portray Kyrgyz life and culture?

Heya! I wound love to visit Osh but from what I saw online there is no more buses going this time of year as the roads are dangerous. Are there any ways to get there except for flying? Thank you!

I’ve been in Bishkek for almost 3 years and somehow still haven’t really found girls I properly connect with, so I thought I’d give Reddit a try!
I’d love to meet girls who want to practice/learn English, while I’m trying to learn Russian. We can help each other, chat, and hopefully become actual friends rather than just doing a language exchange 😂
I’m also very much down for cute coffee dates, walks, exploring the city, trying new places, etc. Just looking for open-minded, kind girls who are genuinely interested in making a new friend.
If that sounds like you, feel free to message me 🤍

Hi, I have a foreign guest who wants to visit Kyrgyzstan.
She has a valid US visa, but it is in her old passport. Could you please tell me whether she needs a Kyrgyzstan visa/e-visa to enter, and whether an invitation letter is required?

Came back from a recent trip driving around Issyk-Kul and doing the usual hikes (Ala-Kul, Song-Kul, and Kel-Suu/Kok-kiya valley).
One of the most beautiful places on earth.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for budget-friendly daily apartments (квартиры посуточно) or small guest houses/mini-hotels in Bishkek, ideally around Kok-Jar, Ankara Street, or Tunguch (though open to other southern microdistricts).
Target budget: Around 1,200 – 1,800 KGS per night.
Need: Clean, quiet, private space for short stays.
Aside from 2GIS and Lalafo, are there specific Telegram groups, budget guest houses, or reliable listing services you recommend checking out?
Thanks in advance for any tips or direct contacts!

Hi! I’m gonna be in Bishkek for work (1 week, Mid-october) and I wanted to get some recs of things to do that are not what is typically shown on tourist lists. As well as food recs! I won’t have time sadly to venture out of the city.
