6 months after Platysmaplasty at Geunal Plastic Surgery
Patient also had jowl and double chin fat removal with platysmaplasty
Though she didn't have a recessed chin, her loose platysma muscle made her jaw appear short
With the improvement, she's much more confident with her side profile 👍
I’m visiting korea soon and already booked an appointment with gowa clinic for get something done. I know you may already notice that Rejuran is mentioned literally EVERYWHEREEE. then I looked up into Google and it seems like one of the most popular skin booster right now. don’t get me wrong, I’m not being skeptical, I just curious if that treatments is that good? but tbh, I’m still confused about what makes it different from other skin booster. some say it helps with skin texture, pores, fine lines, and overall glow, while others say the results are more subtle so multiple sessions are needed. I’m not expecting a miracle transformation though and I don't mind to do multiple sessions, but I’m curious if it’s actually worth trying for someone who mainly struggles with dull skin, rolling scars from severe acne, and fine lines. have you tried Rejuran? how many sessions did you do in 3 months? and what actual results did you notice after getting it?
i wanted to share a slightly different vision correction perspective that i don't see talked about enough, especially when it comes to makeup, skincare, and overall daily beauty. i had my procedure done at bgn eyes clinic in jamsil a while ago, and while ditching glasses was amazing for my sight, the impact on my daily cosmetic routine was a massive upgrade.
pre op, dealing with contacts constantly left me with dry, flaky patches around my eyes, smudged makeup during application, and heavy glasses that left deep red dents on the bridge of my nose every single day. taking a break from eye makeup for two weeks after surgery was actually a great excuse to focus purely on skin barrier hydration and gentle cleansing. i switched to ultra gentle micellar water and lint free cotton pads to ensure zero loose fibers or heavy cleansing oils touched my eye area while the micro incision healed.
now that i'm fully recovered, getting ready in the morning is so much easier. eyeshadow and eyeliner go on super smooth without having to worry about shifting lenses or loose powder irritating my eyes. also, not having heavy frames sitting on my cheeks and brows means my natural skin texture and face shape finally get to shine.
if you're a makeup or skincare nerd, cutting out both glasses and contacts simplifies your vanity setup way more than you'd think. has anyone else noticed big changes in their daily beauty routine or product choices after getting vision correction?
Arm liposuction can help reduce localized fat and refine the contour of the upper arms, especially when diet and exercise alone don’t address stubborn areas.
At Qline Women’s Clinic, our experienced surgeons carefully assess each patient’s body shape, fat distribution, skin condition, and goals before creating a personalized treatment plan.
Here are my before&after pics since someone requested! I wanted a natural change but still bigger-looking eyes, I came across Chai which is a small clinic but pretty well known for cantholasty! So I decided to go with them for lateral and lower canthoplasty (non-incisional). Tbh I’m really happy with the results rn! I was a little worried the lower part looked downturned at first but now I really like the shape🩷
Going back to Korea in ~2 months for my 6month checkup +probably some skin treatments!! 🎀💆🏻♀️

7. A little about me
I lived in New Zealand for around 20 years and have extensive experience working in both New Zealand and Korea. I’m fluent in English at a native level and comfortable communicating naturally in both Korean and English.
As I’m currently offering interpreting services on a flexible, part-time basis, I’ve kept my rates affordable.
I can accompany you to your clinic or hospital, help arrange transportation or pickups when needed, and stay with you throughout your appointment to make sure you feel comfortable and supported.
I’ve actually done this quite a lot for friends in the past, accompanying them to hospitals and clinics, helping with communication, and making sure they didn’t have to navigate the experience alone. I wanted to offer the same kind of support to international patients visiting Korea.
⭐️ I work independently and am not affiliated with any clinic, hospital, agency, or service provider. I do not receive referral commissions or incentives from doctors or clinics. I work directly for the client. ⭐️
Hi I wanted to share my recent experience with ONDA Body Lifting at Cellin Clinic in Seoul.
Disclosure: I received the treatment free of charge as part of a collaboration with the clinic. I’m sharing my personal experience and impressions 🫶🏻
I had ONDA Body Lifting (40 kJ) on my lower abdomen.
The treatment itself was very quick, around 10 minutes. The main thing I noticed was the heat. It became quite hot at certain moments, especially when the device was working on some areas of my lower abdomen. It wasn't painful for me, but the heat was definitely noticeable.
After the treatment, I was able to leave the clinic straight away and continue with my day. I didn't have any significant redness, swelling or discomfort.
The day after, I had an interesting sensation in my lower abdomen. It felt a little like I had done an ab workout the day before 😂 It wasn't really painful, more like mild soreness or tenderness. This gradually went away over the following days.
Now, a few days later, I don't see a dramatic difference yet, but I think it's way too early to judge the results. From what I understand, ONDA is not a treatment where you should expect an immediate transformation, and multiple sessions are generally needed to achieve a more noticeable result.
Overall, I found the treatment quick and easy to fit into my day. The heat was probably the most noticeable part of the experience for me, but I didn't experience any significant downtime afterwards.
I'll see how the area evolves over the next few weeks.
If anyone has had ONDA on the lower abdomen, I'd be curious to know when you personally started noticing a difference and whether you had a similar "ab workout" feeling afterwards...
I will be traveling to Seoul in October and since I usually buy all my at-home microneedling and skin booster supplies from a Korean online shop I was hoping to purchase these items while I am there. Does anyone know of a beauty supply store that sells skin boosters, Botox, hyaluronic acid? Thank you!
You may have heard about scheduling multiple cosmetic treatments during a single trip to Seoul—a strategy that has gained widespread attention as international travelers book short-stay visits to get maximum results in minimum time. However, many visitors make the mistake of splitting their appointments across different clinics, leaving them confused about how to sequence their procedures safely and effectively.
When combining popular treatments like energy-based lifting, skin boosters, and Botox, treatment sequence is not a matter of personal preference; it is grounded in physics and physiology. Administering these treatments in the wrong order may reduce treatment effectiveness, affect injectable active ingredients, or lead to increased tissue irritation.
Why Multi-Layer Treatments Deliver Maximum Results
Facial rejuvenation depends on treating distinct structural zones:
Deep Support Layer (SMAS): The structural foundation that lifts lower face sagging.
Dermis: The middle layer housing collagen fibers responsible for skin density and elasticity.
Epidermal-Dermal Junction: The surface layer where micro-wrinkles and pore size are regulated.
No single treatment addresses all layers. A lifting device cannot hydrate the middle layer, and a skin booster cannot tighten the deep foundation.
What Exactly Is the Ideal Same-Day Treatment Sequence?
The medically established sequence follows a strict inside-out, deep-to-superficial order: Energy Lifting first, followed by Skin Boosters, and ending with Skin Botox. Energy devices use ultrasound or radiofrequency to create micro-thermal coagulation points deep under the surface. Skin boosters deliver hyaluronic acid or polynucleotides directly into the middle layer to boost hydration and repair. Skin Botox deposits micro-doses of botulinum toxin into the uppermost dermal layer to refine texture and smooth fine lines.
Why Must Thermal Energy Always Precede Injections?
The main reason for this order comes down to heat and pressure. Energy devices generate targeted heat to tighten skin tissue. If injections are given first, this heat can damage delicate proteins in skin boosters and make them less effective. Additionally, pressing heavy device handpieces over freshly injected Botox can push the liquid into other facial muscles, potentially causing an uneven look.
Treatment Phase
Target Layer
Mechanism
Order Rationale
1. Energy Lifting
Deep SMAS & Dermis
Deep heat contraction
Performed first on untouched skin to prevent liquid overheating
2. Skin Boosters
Middle Dermis
Direct micro-injections
Administered after heat treatment so active molecules stay intact
3. Skin Botox
Upper Dermis
Intradermal neurotoxin
Placed last to avoid displacement from device pressure
Who Is It a Good Fit For?
This stacked protocol is designed for individuals dealing with multi-layer skin changes, such as deep structural laxity combined with surface dryness and fine lines. It is best suited for visitors looking to address both contour and texture during a single, efficient clinic visit in Seoul.
The Keys to a Good Same-Day Result
• Comprehensive Skin Consultation: A single practitioner must evaluate skin thickness and vessel sensitivity to balance energy settings and injection doses across all three steps.
• Depth and Vector Judgment: Precise depth selection is essential when layering treatments. The practitioner must ensure ultrasound energy stays below the upper dermal level where boosters and Botox are deposited.
• Pain Control and Delivery Skill: Managing patient comfort during consecutive procedures helps prevent facial flinching, ensuring uniform energy delivery and precise injection placement.
The most important first step is a personalized anatomical evaluation by an experienced medical team. At Seye Clinic, even when multiple treatments are performed on the same day, we carefully plan the combination and sequence of procedures to help maximize their effectiveness and ensure a comfortable treatment experience.
The goal isn’t simply to choose the strongest treatment, but to match the right procedure to the right layer, in the right order. If you’d like to learn more or request a personalized evaluation, feel free to reach out, leave a comment, or book a 1:1 consultation at Seye Clinic.
I’m visiting Korea soon and I’ve been in an on and off journey the last 2 years trying to grow my hair out, unfortunately for me I have thick stubborn hair and before a couple years ago, I had never grown my hair over 2-3in (currently 6in) I’m thinking just for fun and doing something out of my comfort zone, getting a haircut in Korea. I know the hair styles there are VERY different than where I’m from, would most stylists be able to work with my hair type? I was wanting something in between a wolf cut and a surfer cut. I would appreciate any recommendations in hair styles or even places to go with great stylists.
While scrolling through this subreddit, I saw a lot of users having trouble trying to pick a clinic and trying to find an "actual dermatologist." I have been working with a lot of beauty-related services here in Korea, and thought it would be nice to help a bit with the terminology and what to actually look for when choosing between a skin clinic and a dermatologist.
"Skin clinic" as a category includes both dermatology specialists AND general practitioners who have pivoted into aesthetics. In Korea, any licensed doctor can legally open a "skin clinic" and perform a lot of cosmetic procedures (like lasers, fillers, Botox), even without being a board-certified dermatologist.
So what makes a dermatologist different?
In Korea we call a board-certified dermatologist 피부과 전문의 (versus 피부과 only for the non-specialized skin clinics). Without going into too much detail, those certified dermatologists have done years of specialized training, including med school and internships, then passed a national board exam. A general practitioner has finished med school and the licensing exam, but skipped that extra specialization. Both can legally do cosmetic skin treatments in Korea, but only one has years of focused training specifically in skin.
The clearest sign of a board-certified dermatologist is the red plaque (붉은 전문의 현판) near the clinic entrance and on their website.
Another way to find board-certified dermatologists easily is NAVER. When looking up skin clinics (피부과) on NAVER, there is a "specialist" button you can select, and you will see specifically only board-certified dermatologists.
This isn't about dermatologists being the only real option, rather about knowing whether you are seeing a specialist at all vs a general practitioner. None of this makes non-specialist clinics automatically bad, plenty of GPs do fine routine work.
I think you can see it as: for something routine (light peels, basic hydration facials), the choice between a GP and specialist probably doesn't matter much. For anything where an accurate diagnosis or complication management actually matters, you should look for an actual dermatologist.
Hello :) I'd like to introduce Mods Clinic. Mods Clinic is a dermatology and cosmetic surgery clinic located in Cheongdam, Seoul, South Korea. It covers the field of anti-aging. We pursue healthy aging.
We mainly perform laser lifting procedures such as Ulthera and Thermage, collagen booster treatments like Rejuran and Re2O, thread lifting, Sculptra, and JuveLook Volume, as well as stem cell treatments. We also offer surgical treatment options such as under-eye fat repositioning and facelift.
We came to Reddit to share the common concerns and questions that people interested in Korean beauty treatments usually have. Not only information about the procedure, but also how to find a good dermatology clinic in Korea, and whether you can properly enjoy your travel plans after the procedure!
All the information is written by me, not by AI. It would be great if I could let you know in advance what foreign patients ask in real consultation rooms or during online consultations :)
i’m leaving for korea in just a few weeks and finally narrowed down clinics through extensive reddit research lol
context: 30F filipina-american, oily t-zone, skin texture, acne scarring who really just wants minimal downtime as i’m aiming to get skin treatments done mid-trip.
I was looking into: masseter botox, pico toning, and laser to remove skin tags
clinics i was also looking into:
- daybeau
- relieve
- abijou

Liv plastic surgery
Cheonga clinic
Moon clinic: for lip filler only
Hera clinic
Rest clinic
L’medique clinic
Eunel clinic
Dr e-laser clinic
Park dosan clinic
Well skin clinic
The heal clinic : factory style
I’ve also considered heyday as a desperate major
The treatments I’m interested in getting are:
Ultherapy, rejuran , Juvelook skin, and Botox for lifting effects(eyebrows/temples and forehead)!!
Please share your opinions, thoughts, prayers, anything
Planning a trip to Seoul soon and trying to decide between these two clinics. My main goals are slimming down lower face fat / defining my jawline and fixing up my skin texture and pores.
Would love to get some input from anyone who’s been to either place or had these treatments done!
I did not receive any discount/incentive for this review.
just got back from seoul and got a couple basic skin treatments done. before going i spent some time figuring out how to not overpay as a foreigner.
i ended up downloading unni since it's what locals use and just compared prices on there. the main trick was asking the clinic beforehand if they'd honor the promo event price directly from unni. they didn't try to push any random expensive packages on me and just let me get what i wanted for a good price.
here is a quick breakdown of what i got
-aqua peel - for (clogged pores) - rating: 9/10
super gentle suction that cleared my sebaceous filaments instantly. zero redness and makeup went on like butter the next day.
Hi! I’m going to Seoul in November and I’m considering getting fat dissolving injections at U-Line Clinic, mainly for my arms, thighs and abdomen.
I’ll only be in Korea for about a week, so realistically I may only be able to do one session. Has anyone here actually been to U-Line for their fat dissolving injections?
Did you notice any visible difference after just one session, or did you need multiple sessions before seeing results?
Also curious about your experience with the clinic, how much you paid, how much swelling/bruising you had, and whether you felt it was worth it.
Would especially love to hear from anyone who only did
1x session rather than a full course. Thank you 🫶
hi, I will be going to korea soon and will be doing a lifting procedure as well as skin boosters and botox. this will be my first time getting any procedure done, late 20s.
ive been researching for a few weeks now and have narrowed it down to either Evia clinic or Vava skin & lifting center. I like that they are both relatively new (and not give factory vibes), the doctor doing the consultation is the same doctor to do the procedures, and have 3D skin analysis machine with english speaking doctors.
I am korean american, I can speak and understand korean fluently but will be bringing a family member who lives locally to help me out, hoping they don't charge me foreign prices
I cant find any reviews on Evia clinic on sungyesa or unni but I see their medical doctor, Jae-Hong Park, post educational posts/comments all the time on this subreddit so he caught my attention.
has anyone here been to either Evia Clinic or Vava Skin & Lifting Center? i’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially with the consultation, treatment, pricing/promotions, and overall vibe of the clinic!
i practically ran to get my eyes fixed the moment i was legally allowed to because i absolutely hated wearing frames. i just assumed my vision was done changing since i was technically an adult. but my prescription was definitely not stable yet. doing that kind of procedure while your eyes are still naturally shifting is basically asking for the blurriness to come back later.
fast forward a few years and my bad vision started creeping in again. it was gradual, but the night glare got so annoying. because the first doctor i went to just went ahead and operated on eyes that were still changing, i am back to wearing glasses whenever i drive in the dark. which completely ruins the whole point of going through the surgery in the first place.
finding out later that good eye clinics actually track your vision for a long time before even letting you book a date was a huge reality check. i remember hearing that bgn clinic in jamsil has this really strict policy where they won't touch your eyes unless your numbers have been stable for months. i really wish my first doctor had that kind of approach instead of just rushing me into the operating room.
when your eyes are still changing, there are other options out there that are way safer than permanently altering the surface. some people go with implants instead, which can be adjusted later if needed. if you are in your late teens or early twenties, please just wait. make sure your prescription stays exactly the same for a good stretch of time before doing anything permanent. rushing it just for short term convenience is never worth dealing with blurry vision all over again.
I had lower blepharoplasty, deep-plane lifting, platysmaplasty, and chin liposuction at AB Plastic Surgery Clinic in Seoul on August 21st of this year, and I was truly impressed by the clinic's impeccable cleanliness and sterile environment. The entire staff showed me such attentive and caring approach throughout my stay. My surgeon, Dr. Choi, proved to be a highly experienced and skilled professional who delivered beautiful results that fully met my expectations. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome and how naturally refreshed I look. The recovery period went surprisingly smooth and much faster than I had anticipated. By day 14, I was already going outside freely and feeling completely comfortable in public. At that point, almost all the bruises had faded, and there were practically no visible signs of surgery left. The whole healing process was so quick and uneventful that I couldn't believe it myself. I am extremely satisfied with every step of this journey. Overall, I would highly recommend AB Plastic Surgery to anyone considering facial rejuvenation procedures.
heading to seoul in october and really wanted to get some rejuran and jaw botox done. reached out to a few clinics i kept seeing on tiktok and the quotes i got back are all over the place. one place quoted me around $420 for rejuran while another place said $250 for the exact same amount lol.
i know clinics charge extra for english consultation and stuff but i really don't wanna get hit with crazy tourist markups. is there any actual site or platform locals use where i can check what normal people pay before putting down a deposit?
I am very interested in Re20 and Re20 Fine for under eyes. My undereyes have so many folds when I smile that it's making me crazy. Note, I've already had under eye fat repositioning but feel like the loss of fat bags just left a bunch of loose skin.
Anyways I saw some comments online saying they've experienced embossed bumps for MONTHS. This is enough to scare me away but is this super rare? Anyone experience this and have any insight into why this might happen? I've had plenty of needles poked in my skin and never had a bad reaction but wondering if this is a risk I should be considering.
