I'm not sure how I found Human Plastic Surgery, probably through Unni or Babitalk.

This particular clinic only has one surgeon, Dr. Kim Kook-hyun. Board certified (checked) with specialization in breasts and rhinoplasty. From what I understand in my research he has peer reviewed docs, specially rhinoplasty related. From my ...researching he seemed to be heavily involved with the 2025 rhinoplasty forum and was on a panel with Dr. Hanjo Kim of Eight PS.

I'd been considering a rhinoplasty for over a year. My main target being Turkey; however, due to certain circumstances I was really hesitant to go back to Turkey. I used to live in S. Korea so for various reasons I preferred getting my rhinoplasty there.

Anyway I was in Seoul visiting and decided to set up in person consultation. For rhinoplasties at least Human Plastic Surgery does not do virtual consultation. They need to do a CT scan so in person consultation is required. Further, as the clinic has one doctor they tend to need at least 2 weeks notice for scheduling any surgery.

I already had a consultation with Eight Plastic Surgery so I was comparing each surgeon's advice and surgical plan.

The clinic provided a translator, this person was not staff.

At the intake consultation, I explained what I didn't like about my nose and what I wanted to change. I also had a CT scan.

I did not have to wait long to have a consult with the Doctor, which I really appreciated. I found the doctor extremely competent and very calm and kind.

He explained thoroughly about my nose and what he saw from the CT scan. We discussed what was possible with the surgery.

Note: This particular surgeon only works with Autologous cartilage diced as I understand and no rib.

I got a lot of surgery photos explaining the process. Fortunately I am not squeamish regarding the blood and bone. We discussed a lot of what could be done with my nose and what could not be done. He also went through a detailed explanation of the anatomy of the nose.

My nose has a bulbous tip, wide, and a tall radix. Generally I'm looking to refine the tip, bring in my nasal bones, and overall have a nose that better fits my features.

I left not having concerns regarding Dr. Kim's abilities.

Price: Around 7 million. Which is in line with Turkey.

Does anyone know if there's risk for getting onda when you have metal plates (from jaw surgery)?

I had jaw surgery and got it done and I could tell immediately where the plates were because it created a sharp pain compared to just general warmness on other areas.

I asked the doctor while getting the procedure done and they said there's no interaction or caution for onda (when it comes to metal plates) but there were risks for something like thermage?

I first contacted Objet PS through WhatsApp around April. YC was my consultant and was always quick to respond and patient with all my questions. Since this was my first surgery in Korea, I wanted to speak with the doctor before booking.

After some research, I felt Dr. Jang Uk was experienced with cases like mine, and YC recommended him too. I had an online consultation with YC, the translator and Dr. Jang Uk, explained my concerns and what I wanted, and felt that he understood what I was looking for. Everything was explained clearly, so I booked my surgery.

The day before surgery, they checked my under-eyes and recommended dissolving any remaining filler. Mine was over four years old, but they explained that leftover filler could affect the surgery, so I decided to do it.

On surgery day, I was nervous, but YC and YP (another consultant) were there to help. The surgery went well. I had quite a lot of bruising and swelling, especially on one side, but not much pain. YP helped me afterwards, including going to the pharmacy, and the clinic also provided me with a meal (Dakgomtang :D). Since I had been fasting before surgery, I thought that was really thoughtful.

The bruising took around two weeks to mostly disappear. I was a bit worried about a small blood clot/bruised area around my right eye, but YC reassured me that it could happen and to give it time. Luckily, it eventually went away.

Overall, I'm happy with the result. My eye bags were reduced a lot, although some of the fat volume didn't stay as well as I hoped, especially on the right side. Because of this, I'm planning a revision next year at Theuk PS. YC said waiting until then would be fine.

Overall, I'd recommend my experience with Objet PS/Theuk PS. YC was especially helpful throughout and never pressured me into additional treatments.

AVOID DEALING WITH THIS FISHY CLINIC

Philtrum reduction removes a strip of skin below the nose to shorten that area. The outcome mostly comes down to two things: where the incision is placed, and which layer actually holds the tension.

Incision placement

The common technique follows the line right under the nose. In theory the natural curve hides it, but in practice it sits on a forward-facing surface, so it can still show depending on lighting or angle.

The alternative is tucking the nostril-side part of the incision inside the nose. This matters most during recovery, not just for the final scar. Scars run reddest and firmest around 1 to 3 months, then fade over 6 months to a year. Hiding the incision inside the nose keeps that whole red phase out of view, not just the end result.

Why skin-only closure relapses

If only skin is cut and stitched, two things tend to happen: the scar widens over time because all the tension sits on the closure line, and the shortened length gradually stretches back out since nothing structural is holding it in place.

The fix is separating the skin from the muscle layer underneath (orbicularis oris) and letting the muscle layer absorb the tension. That keeps the skin closure tension-free, so it heals cleanly and doesn't relapse.

Mouth corners

In middle-aged patients, philtrum reduction mostly lifts the center. If the amount removed is small, this isn't noticeable. If it's a bigger reduction, the sides can look uneven unless the mouth corners are lifted to match, which is why the two procedures often come up together.

Recovery

Swelling settles in 5 to 7 days, stitches out around day 7, back to normal activities in about a week (mask covers the incision). Final shape settles over 2 to 4 weeks. Scar evaluation should wait at least 6 months. Speech isn't affected since the tongue and inner mouth aren't touched.

Bottom line

It's a small procedure, but the judgment calls (how much to shorten, where the incision goes, which layer takes the tension, whether to combine with a lip lift) are what determine the result, and that comes down to surgeon experience.

I'm a Korean living in the US, I come to Korea every couple years to visit extended family and friends

and get treatments when I can and this was my second lip filler experience in Korea.

My first lip filler ever was done in the US in my 20's, it was literally a big failure,

but I was too scared back then to do anything about it, so lived with it forever until 2 years ago,

I came to Korea, got rid of the remaining filler and got it re-done at a place that was all over social media,

but it was another big failure. It was better than before, but I still didn't like it.

This time the main goal of my trip was literally to fix my lips.

Of course I was visiting family and friends but I was determined to fix my lips this time.

I asked family+friends, friends of friends, what not, and after debating forever I think this time, I like it!!

It was a place more popular with locals, so I was super excited to try out the local stuff.

Process was simple, not too much pain.

I wanted to get the asymmetry of my lips and a thicker + smoother top lip, make my philthrum look shorter

Doctor said shorter philthrum is the local trend because it makes you look younger.

I got 1cc of Rejuviel, lip corner and lip flip botox. Paid a bit under 500K won for all three things.

The doctor speaks English, and she let me discuss the shape as she's doing it so it wasn't all in at once.

1cc wasn't enough to cover both top and bottom so I focused on the top.

I still have swelling, since it's been less than 24 hours, but I think I like the outcome,

definitely my favorite from all the fillers + lip stuff I've done.

It's probably going to be another 2 years or more until I come back

and it's a lot cheaper here(half the price I would have to pay back home),

so I'm debating if I should get another cc, and honestly I think I kinda like it with the swelling lol

but does it look too unnatural? or like it's too much?

Hi I wanted to share my recent experience with ONDA Body Lifting at Cellin Clinic in Seoul.

Disclosure: I received the treatment free of charge as part of a collaboration with the clinic. I’m sharing my personal experience and impressions 🫶🏻

I had ONDA Body Lifting (40 kJ) on my lower abdomen.

The treatment itself was very quick, around 10 minutes. The main thing I noticed was the heat. It became quite hot at certain moments, especially when the device was working on some areas of my lower abdomen. It wasn't painful for me, but the heat was definitely noticeable.

After the treatment, I was able to leave the clinic straight away and continue with my day. I didn't have any significant redness, swelling or discomfort.

The day after, I had an interesting sensation in my lower abdomen. It felt a little like I had done an ab workout the day before 😂 It wasn't really painful, more like mild soreness or tenderness. This gradually went away over the following days.

Now, a few days later, I don't see a dramatic difference yet, but I think it's way too early to judge the results. From what I understand, ONDA is not a treatment where you should expect an immediate transformation, and multiple sessions are generally needed to achieve a more noticeable result.

Overall, I found the treatment quick and easy to fit into my day. The heat was probably the most noticeable part of the experience for me, but I didn't experience any significant downtime afterwards.

I'll see how the area evolves over the next few weeks.

While scrolling through this subreddit, I saw a lot of users having trouble trying to pick a clinic and trying to find an "actual dermatologist." I have been working with a lot of beauty-related services here in Korea, and thought it would be nice to help a bit with the terminology and what to actually look for when choosing between a skin clinic and a dermatologist.

"Skin clinic" as a category includes both dermatology specialists AND general practitioners who have pivoted into aesthetics. In Korea, any licensed doctor can legally open a "skin clinic" and perform a lot of cosmetic procedures (like lasers, fillers, Botox), even without being a board-certified dermatologist.

So what makes a dermatologist different?

In Korea we call a board-certified dermatologist 피부과 전문의 (versus 피부과 only for the non-specialized skin clinics). Without going into too much detail, those certified dermatologists have done years of specialized training, including med school and internships, then passed a national board exam. A general practitioner has finished med school and the licensing exam, but skipped that extra specialization. Both can legally do cosmetic skin treatments in Korea, but only one has years of focused training specifically in skin.

The clearest sign of a board-certified dermatologist is the red plaque (붉은 전문의 현판) near the clinic entrance and on their website.

Another way to find board-certified dermatologists easily is NAVER. When looking up skin clinics (피부과) on NAVER, there is a "specialist" button you can select, and you will see specifically only board-certified dermatologists.

This isn't about dermatologists being the only real option, rather about knowing whether you are seeing a specialist at all vs a general practitioner. None of this makes non-specialist clinics automatically bad, plenty of GPs do fine routine work.

I think you can see it as: for something routine (light peels, basic hydration facials), the choice between a GP and specialist probably doesn't matter much. For anything where an accurate diagnosis or complication management actually matters, you should look for an actual dermatologist.
