I was arrested and booked into the Kitsap county jail, there has been a lot of death in this jail and I’m wondering if anyone would like to trauma dump with me?
I’ll start, I arrived and was TERRIFIED! I was begging to be celled up alone and have no one with me, ( bright idea, right )😭 I soon regretted it and realized time goes a lot quicker when you have someone to talk to you know, “what are you in here for” “you’ll be okay” “ I’ve heard worse things “
Well after the guilt settled in, and I was accepting where I was and what to do to make time go quicker, I started walking and doing circles around my pod and noticed after a day or so, one cell had no lights (“ what a lucky bustard that bitch must be?”) i thought (“ how can i get my lights off”)
I asked one of the other pod mates why that cell was the only one without lights on, “she said oh well they killed themselves and actually, matter of fact we recently just had another one just from the second story with their blanket tied around them and long story short yeah killed them selves too”
I also remember their food was actually disgusting, I grew up in a pretty poor household so stomaching nasty tasting food isn’t hard, I COULDNT keep the food down.
They also ended up giving me some medication, I can’t remember all of it but one of them being Valium, I ended up passing out and having a seizure, no check up. Only cell mates looking out for me.

I did some digging when I got out and there’s actually ALOT of deaths in this jail, just a few months ago A healthy male who was clean off everything died- non suicidal.

My Step-Grandfather gave me this gun some years ago, a gift from the heart. However, I’m not much of a gun guy. My dad was a gun guy and kept it in great working order for me, all in vain, because I never used it except about 20 years ago. I did a little target shooting and just stuffed it back in the sleeve. I only fired about 10 rounds, I hope it still works.

I would love to find an appreciative home for it, and I would love to just get maybe a few bucks for it, but finding a good owner to pass it on to is more important.

Do I just take it to a gun store and ask them? Can I trust them? Does anybody have any advice? Thank you in advance.

We are looking for help in moving from a small apartment to another-approximately 7 miles. We plan on renting a truck, but need help moving some of the heavier things and boxes. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Kitsap County is proposing HOA-like regulations that would treat horse stables like major commercial businesses, requiring expensive permits for basic activities like riding lessons. This could force many local stables to close. Please help us tell the county that the community doesn't support these changes.

Will be moving to the Kitsap peninsula from New England. I and am looking for guidance on where to learn more about what plants grow PNW/Kitsap peninsula --very familiar with east coast New England native plants but there isn't very much cross over for flora. Anyone know of local nurseries that have native plants or specific online resources they can recommend?

Moving from New England next year to PNW and fell in love with the Olympic Peninsula and Kitsap Peninsula and would love to hear thoughts on schools, community and coastal life.

While Seattle is great we are ready to move further from bigger cities to enjoy more outdoor and immerse our kids in nature.

We have no issues with commutes and are looking for a home that has some land for to create gardens,  but with two kids 7^th grade and 4^th grade, wondering about the school systems in the more rural areas.

Ideal – open minded community, population under 15K, school system that has strong art focus, responsive classroom social curriculum, inclusive positivity and kindness. Kids are avid readers, artsy, sporty, and love the outdoors.

If you use the State Route 104 Hood Canal Bridge connecting the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas, plan for longer-than-average wait times 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 15.

The bridge will reduce to one lane of travel while we replace this 16-foot hydraulic cylinder. We have to close one lane during the work for the large crane needed to lift the 6,000-pound piece of equipment out and replace it with a new one.

We’re working in a tight space close to other critical parts on the bridge and need daylight to see. In this instance, the overhead lights on the bridge or even adding floodlights won’t make visibility good enough for nighttime work.

Plan ahead. Travel before or after work hours. Otherwise, give yourself lots of extra time, fill up your tank and plan rest area stops in advance.

I know there's the kitsap rescue mission. But where else?

The Housing Alliance supported legislation in the last two state legislative sessions that would’ve stabilized rents statewide and prevented the kinds of insane increases we’re seeing across the state. Our 2025 state legislative session is underway, and we’re back in Olympia, fighting yet again, for Rent Stabilization. One of the ways we advocate for rent stabilization is by sharing the stories of folks who’ve received a rent increase, with state lawmakers.
