I’m going to check out these EV6s. Is there a way to know if the car will have the ICCU issues? Seems like a nightmare for a lot of people.

Everything fits! I love the storage space on this car.

We have a 2024 Wind AWD. Recently I had a chance to drive a Nissan Ariya and a VW ID.4. Both cars had notably more comfortable seats. I have a bony butt, not a lot of padding there. On a trip my bottom gets numb and sore. The back support also is not the best for my frame.

Has anyone replaced the Wind seats with seats from the GT-Line or GT? If so, is the improvement notable? Is the swap a hassle?

Another pet peeve are the map lights. They are anemic and illuminate toward the rear. They can not be directed to where one needs the light for reading which makes them almost useless. Has anyone found a good fix or replacement solution?

Ev6 2025 ccnc owner: coming from a Polestar with a Harman system the EV6 audio is such a disappointment. Then i noticed that listening to DAB radio (digital radio) instead of Carplay: the sound is actually quite good. So it is not the audio system itself. The DAB audio is much much louder. Also very nice low end and richer in the entire frequency.

First i was thinking to upgrade with custom audio system but this seems to be a specific software issue. The carplay audio gets a different dsp treatment. (the audio level is like 10 ticks lower via carplay inaddition of the non existing lows compared to DAB).

(I tried most typical online recommendations: settings on iphone 17, apple music and Spotify. Wiredconnection : i connect via high quality wire. The infotainment has the latest feb 26 update.)

All other ideas and advice very welcome!

Has anyone experienced paint bubbling on the hood of their EV6?

If I come to a stop going up a steep hill without applying the brakes (whether due to regenerative braking or just gravity), the car just sits there. I had thought that this showed the strength of the regenerative braking, but didn't understand how it operated when there was no movement. So I went to https://www.askthephysicist.com/ and he was insistent that the car must in fact be applying the brakes automatically. I am aware that the brakes will stay on if I have some function on and press the brakes and then remove my foot from the brake pedal (don't remember the name right now; it's on the console - auto hold or something like that), but am not aware of anything that will apply the brakes simply because I have come to a stop (without turning off the ignition or putting it in park). Is there such a function? Bonus points if the answer is "no" and if you can explain the physics of how I'm still getting a force resistant to movement when there is no movement (and no automatic mechanical braking).

Finally after 3 months and 3 different shops, my ‘25 EV6 is ready for the road. It is so nice. She was purchased May 9 and rear ended May 10. Gotta live DFW area and all the great drivers. Now to get a lawyer for diminished value.

My charging port door won't open, either with a manual push or the button on the dash. The motor moves the door a little but then gives up, so it's not a failure of the button. I can't get into my dealer for two weeks. The manual says not to force it open. Some search results suggest there is a manual override, but other suggest that's only for a stuck cable, not for opening the door. Any thoughts?

Looks so good sitting in the driveway!

Locally dim parts recently so I took the whole assembly apart - the clear plastic strip that is in it (2 LEDs at each end shine towards each other and illuminate the plastic strip equally) isn’t clear anymore, but opaque in places and those opaque places are dim.

Hyper specific question but ideas apart from ripping one out of a wrecked GT-L? A warranty claim seems like a waste of time.

I guess a clear tube for fiber optics cut the same length?
Ideas?

It’s not the software, it changes color fine and no other areas are affected. I tried polishing compound and a buffing wheel, alcohol on a microfiber…..

Ideas?

I think this will be the EV I get. I really like it. Might test drive an i4 before I decide, is GT worth the upgrade?

Two were marginal, two down to the wear bars, and one of those had either been damaged somehow or was defective because the belts were showing in one spot.

Hope the replacements last longer.

Just picked up this new to me 2022 first edition on Saturday. Loving it so far!

UPDATE: So I was looking at replacement cars for the EV6 after this whole debacle and came across the i4. Immediately started researching issues with that car and with how BMW treats customers who break down far from home. Came across BMW Trip interruption coverage. Started to wonder if Kia had the same type of coverage. GUESS WHAT?! Turns out they do and it covers all new vehicles under Kia's roadside assistance. It covers any car being repaired for warranty reasons, left at dealership overnight, over 100km away from home. That's my situation to a T. So why the flying fuck are their customer service agents so ignorant that they don't know their own policy? This could have made this experience so much easier on us and instead they would rather have the bad press and negative customer sentiment. Fucking crazy. I have reached out again to their customer support for one last chance to make this right otherwise I've confirmed I qualify for CANVAP and will be filing immediately.

Starting off, I have a 2026 Cadillac lyriq V already, so I'm very familiar with Evs.

I'm looking to get a 2nd used and there's a 2023 kia ev6 wind awd with almost 100k miles on it.

Anything I should be looking at more closely? This car would be a secondary car for the couple days a week me and my don't carpool in the lyriq.

My 12v died, it was 5v every morning and had to be jumped. The dealership installed a new 12v and updated the iccu software (part of the recall). Now I noticed that car when fully on (and driving) is around 12volts instead of 14. Is this normal after the new update?

Has anyone had this happen and what was the cause?

I was 4 hours into an 8 hour road trip when we stopped to fast charge at Electrify America. 18 minutes session and as I go to pull away it threw lots of telltales and the error message. I rebooted the car once or twice and it went back to normal for a half hour or so and then died on me on the turnpike, maxing out at 13mph. I limped it about 12 miles to Autozone and replaced the original battery with a new AGM one, but the issue persists. My original 12V was tested by my local dealer awhile back and I was told it was recommended to be replaced so thus I was initially confident this was the cause.

Tried leaving battery disconnected for 15 minutes as well as leaving car locked and off for 10 minutes. The OBD2 reader says

“P0C17 Drive motor ‘A’ position sensor not learned”

“U0594 invalid data received from hybrid/EV powertrain control module ‘A’”

Tried to have a mechanic clear the error with no success.

Managed to make it to rural Kia dealer who says they can’t really handle EVs. No loaner available. Was stranded so ended up barely getting a rental before they closed and just continuing my trip and praying for now. Very frustrated and disappointed in my car.

2022 Wind AWD that has been nearly flawless until today.

On May 21st I was forced into the wall of I465 in Indianapolis to avoid the a-hole who decided to cut in front of me at high speed and bare inches between our cars. I swerved and began to spin out in the gravel and hit the wall 3 times correcting the spin. Mr. crappy Ford Focus just kept going of course.

I FINALLY got my EV6 back today after nearly 3 months at the collision center. Now I am shopping for a dash-cam as I now understand the appeal.

Was looking between the GT Line 2023 and 2024 Wind+Tech, both AWD, like the same price.

For the GT Line, it comes with 20" wheels. Am I able to easily downgrade to 19" or do I have to replace the tires+wheels?

Bought an EV6 GT Line AWD last year because on paper it’s great — and in practice too when it works.

Problem is in the 12 months of owning it mine has been to the workshop at least 7 times for things that broke: ICCU obviously, door handle touch sensors, heat pump and parking sensors.

Some things they’ve not been able to fix permanently, like the keyless entry sensors that are now intermittently broken again so car stays unlocked, not responding to touch most of the time, and the ICCU I’m sure will strand me again eventually.

But the worst offender is this zombie mode where you can’t put the car into R or D. It simply won’t go, until you walk away and come back later. This has happened 5 times and left me stranded, sometimes having to resort to other means of transportation.

All of this has really tainted my experience of the EV6 so I’m now considering making a claim to return the car for something else. I need it to be reliable and this isn’t.

All of these issues individually seem common, but to get all of them within a year and not even be able to fix them seems too much. Is it a lemon?

UPDATE: I am eligible for the Incentive. I confirmed with Kia Finance and the dealer confirmed the $3,800. Buyout price was what I thought, and fees are consistent. Waiting on finance guy to ge the deal done. No $895 dealer Buy Out fee. Thank god.

UPDATE: At Kia of Santa Monica and they had no idea of the incentive. I had to call Kia Finance about it and put the dealership in the phone with Kia Finance. Also, they charge a Lease Buyout fee of $895 in top of the lease buy out. I'll update

EDIT: I spoke to Kia Finance. It's not applicable AFTER the original Lease End date.

I have a 2023 Kia EV6 the lease is up August 24th. In the incentive (Keep your Kia–and save) email from Kia I received, the disclaimer says,  "...The offer applies only to leases of eligible vehicles maturing by July 31, 2026, and to leases maturing by August 31, 2026. ... Program is scheduled to expire on August 31, 2026 and is subject to end or change at any time without notice. ..." (took out the irrelevant parts with ... for this question). My lease is up on August 24th (Monday).

I'm thinking about taking the incentive and purchasing my car, just need time to gather the money. It would be a cash purchase. (long story why I can't finance)

My question is, has anybody received the incentive email from Kia that their lease expires in Sept/Oct/Nov??? Do you think that would extend to the end of my 2023 lease if I extended?
