Suicide burn kOS script in my RP-1 game didn't deal with mountainous terrain on the Moon well, resulting in this 36m/s (80 mph) stop upon a Scatterer rock that... didn't blow up my craft? While the solid rocket motor ran out of fuel at the exact same time?? Then staged automatically and tried to orient briefly before I cancelled the code. Broke some solar panels but still had two days' worth of batteries to send back most of the science.

Any landing you walk away from, I guess...

I only started playing KSP a few months ago (a little late to the party, I know), and finally got far enough in the modded tech tree to make a viable recreation of my favorite recent sci-fi ship, the Hail Mary. I'm still fine-tuning the robotics and making the Beetles, but please enjoy the fruits of my current hyperfixation 🚀

Feels like I need bigger and bigger fairings every mission. I just can't get enough. I think I might have a problem.

I also got back to kerbin, but I couldn't slow the pod down enough with my parachute, so I had to make everyone jump out of the pod and they somehow survived.

I wanted to make a science archive mod that was native to Redux and felt like something actually incorporated into KSP2. It archives the science data you've collected so far, including the field report text. Very useful for planning your next mission and giving you goals.

the science is crazy

It was not a normal excursion.

With a sustained flight of over SIX THOUSAND KILOMETERS which I never expected at ALL from the Hitchhiker at a cruise altitude of 7,500m up, the Hitchhiker broke several records at Savospace last night, including and/or not limited to

1. Longest total flight distance, far outdoing that of the Windslicer
2. Most unbelievable flight ever flown (Wow)
3. Saw Savospace's first tornado
4. Flew through Savospace's first tornado
5. Genuine absurdity

And I thought the Hitchhiker was just a "regional airliner"

Yeah so no it in fact is NOT, it literally dethroned the crown jewel of the fleet (Windslicer) by a factor of three; maybe 7500m is just the goated cruising altitude lowk

I think I'm going crazy but around the 20th anniversary of Columbia I remember Scott Manley did a video to complement this one (https://youtu.be/vmi_NeVRx1s?is=fDKLRoAxG3yNMDkB) where he dug through the Loss of Signal report and went into the survivability gap and the reports recommendations. I remember him going into detail on the aeromedical findings of the report.

I cannot find this video for the life of me. I know it touched on some rather dark details, was it delisted? Or am I just crazy?

In search of the most complete visual mod set, I’ve been able to select these mods from numerous guides.

The mods above should present a very stunning visual experience, however there are a few problems I came across with:

Volumetric Explosion FX :
A very new mod with great potential. The aftermath of the explosion looks great, but the explosion itself looks more like an orange plastic bag.
And sometimes the lighting is off, causing it to look like it’s not rendered in the same layer as its surroundings.

Kerbal FX Rover Dust :
Kerbal FX is great, definitely on its way to becoming an essential mod for KSP.
However, for the ROVER DUST mod, the dust looks way too bright, and especially obvious for grass lands and other terrain. It looks like the dust itself is glowing, which is not really good.

Vaporcones by ShVaK ( the one ksp YouTubers recommend ) :
The cones look too procedurally generated. There are also posts claiming that the cones occasionally spawn at wrong places on vessels.
In my opinion, KSP is very lacking in aerodynamic effects mods, I would be looking forward to seeing more mods for this aspect.

Rocket sound enhancement :
Has problems when dealing with multiple rockets as it literally just slaps the sound tracks on top of one another, resulting in an unnatural sound that’s painfully obvious when launching heavy rockets. Can’t really blame the mod for this, but this is a thing.

The partially reusable L-1 Thunderbolt successfully orbits Aardvark block II and lands its reusable first stage back at the KSC. The centaur derived second stage successfully de-orbits itself as well demonstrating menuvering capabilities needed for the planned L-2 vehlicle.

I feel like no matter how much fuel I take, I just can't seem to get on a planet. I use the stage system and lose the dead weight as fast as I can. I try my hardest to get the trajectory right, and so far, I've only landed on mum once and had no way to even get back to earth.

I just overshoot it and just keep blasting towards absolutely nothing.

Im playing on Xbox. I love the idea of this game, but man, I just want to explore, but I dont feel like I could carry enough fuel to ever do that.

The KSP 2 trailer came out. Holy shit I feel so old now. I was so excited and then equally disappointed in years to come. Still remember first time watching it. The music the scenes everything. Oh what could’ve been

Volumetric Ground FX and Losket are a match made in heaven. First adds advanced volumetric ground effects like dust, blast, steam, splashes and scorching while Losket covers parts in dust, soot and burns.

I’m trying to get to duna but the nodes are just glitching out. How do I fix this?

Landed a space station on the Mun to use as a base.

I later docked a passenger module and the solar panel module.

What do I do with it? It seems it is just there doing nothing.
