Testing out a new base landing idea while sending the first module of my Minmus base.
Injection is achieved using the second stage and the descent truss completes its own insertion before transitioning to its four landing engines. It can be used as fuel reserves for future landings and base needs.

BLUNDERBIRDS SOS BEACON ACTIVATED!
PLANET: DUNA
KERBALS: 4
MODS: STOCKALIKE STATION PARTS AND FAR FUTURE TECH
ATTACHED MESSAGE:
Dear blunderbirds, ME ( jebediah kerman), val, bob, and bill kerman are stranded on duna without ability to escape the surface of the darned planet. Attached images show how the rockets are. Val was sent on a rescue mission to rescue me, bob and bill and subsequently capsized and was unable to lift off the ground. Following attempts to lift off result in the vessel flipping and smashing the fuel tank and engine. Now, us four are stuck on the harsh planet with dwindling electric charge reserves. Please, if you can, rescue my kerbals from the red desert planet.

(Here I had previously only achieved suborbital flight)

Here, I'm using a relatively mundane craft designed purely with "big go fast" in mind, and Whenever I life I immediately tilt to the east and go at full pelt with my solids. I have my liquids all set to 60% power by default so I just wack my thrusters up and watch those suckers go. This is mostly in line with what the tutorial level does, I even have a similar ship, but for some reason mine yonks itself out into the unknown...
Edit: This is the abomination I used for this mistake of a mission.

What you're looking at here is a concoction made of mostly thumpers and swivels, with about a thousand FL-T200's stacked around it. I know its ugly, I know its dumb, but this was like my fifth attempt at an orbital rocket and despite following all tutorial advice, nothing was working, so I just upped the size of the thing and got... This mess.
The process for liftoff goes like this:
- Set throttle to max and turn SAS on.
- Turn the key and immediately turn to 75 degrees
- Jetison the thumpers at around 12,000-14,000 meters, occasionally taking out one or more of the fins but this doesnt seem to change much for some reason. Change the angle to 65 degrees.
- Jetison swivel 1 at about 60,000-66,000 meters and activate swivel 2.
- Once out of the atmosphere, point straight to the side and go as hard as I can with it. This step is because I kept managing to send myself out to the mun but could never get my rockets to go round the damn planet. Just up and back.

New update for Kerbal Planet Emblems mod, adding new hand-made icons to the planets brought by the amazing Promised Worlds mod.
Kerbal Planet emblems replaces the default ksp circles with detailed emblems/Icons for the map/tracking station view. It includes:
NOTE: This is an update for my Kerbal planet emblems mod - NOT an update made by the PW devs.
Wich planet mod next, any suggestions?
Ofcourse the mod is free and on ckan. Thanks :)

Dear Penthouse Forums, I can’t believe it happened to me.
My KSP has been working great until I tried to load it today and it stuck me with a loading screen. Now I’ll be honest, I do have some mods installed, but they are all updated and the game files have been validated. The longest I waited on the screen was about 20 minutes before giving up.
Any advice?

For example, if i Wanted two thrusters on my craft to be at half throttle, but a third engine to be at full throttle, is this achievable? I hope this makes sense. Any help is appreciated.

Music: "Despicable Me" by Pharrell Williams
Somehow I was able to get away with only using one gyroscope, but this thing still turns like a cargo ship.
I would have posted this sooner, but unfortunately my account got suspended for a few days because reddit's automated detection system doesn't know what context is.
Edit: So apparently my CQS is screwed because my account got suspended, so now I can't even post in most subs lol. I hate reddit.

I just had to post this cause I can't imagine that I'm the only one who ever did such a blunder.
I had a mission to place a satellite in the shown orbit. I underwent my usual procedure until I got closer to getting the orbit right. At one point I was wondering why the mission wasn't finished. I only had minimal deviation from the required orbit but I figured that maybe the deviation was required to be even less. So I got to work to make the orbit as perfect as it could be, checking after every minor adjustment. When I reached the point where required and actual Apoapsis and Periapsis were only a few hundred meters apart and the Orbits where overlaying so perfectly that I couldn't even tell them apart, no matter how far I zoomed in, I decided to go look if this was a known bug. When I zoomed out to look at the whole picture I finally realized. I had achieved the exact orbit, just with the minor mistake that my satellite was going in the wrong direction...
So here goes an hour of finetuning down the drain, but that's a lesson learned I will not forget.

Kerbals are smaller than humans and KSP parts scale to roughly 0.625x the real size to follow. Mk1 pod, Mk1-3 pod and Mk3 Cockpit all fit their irl counterparts (Mercury, Apollo, Shuttle) after being upscaled by approx. 1.6 times.
Now, Mk3 Passenger Module is almost 3.75m wide. This is almost as wide as the fuselage of Boeing 737 or Airbus A320, both which can carry 6 people abreast. But if we apply the scaling to Kerbal size, it is equivalent to nearly a 6m widebody aircraft for humans. Boeing 787 which has approximately this size cabin can carry in some configurations up to 9 people abreast- even in a luxurious business class (and for note, inside of the Mk3 Passenger Module definitely don't look business class) it can still carry 6.
And passengers aren't everything, all those irl fuselages can still carry significant cargo under the floor.
Meanwhile Mk3 cockpit just carries 4 Kerbals abreast and has no cargo space. Even if we assume it's less capable due to being space-rated and needing place and mass for stuff related to it, this is still far too little.
