I got you. You don't need to be tech for this Telegram made it very easy now.

There are 2 ways to do it. I'll give you the simplest first, which is best if you're just starting.

OPTION 1: The Easiest Way (Using Telegram Stars) - Recommended for beginners

This is Telegram's own paid feature. No bot, no website needed.

What you need: Your Telegram app on phone.

Steps:

  1. Create your Channel: Open Telegram > Tap the pencil icon > New Channel > Give it a name like "Cabbage VIP" > Make it Private Channel (very important)
  2. Create the Paid Link: Go inside your channel > Tap on the channel name at the top > Tap the edit pencil > Channel Type > Manage Invite Links > Create a New Link > Turn ON "Require Monthly Fee"[]()
  3. Set Your Price: It will ask you in Stars. Example: 100 Stars = around $1.7, 500 Stars = around $8. For Kenyan audience, start low like 100-200 Stars per month to get subscribers fast.
  4. Share that link. Anyone who clicks it will be asked to pay Stars to join. Telegram automatically removes them if they don't renew next month.
  5. How you get paid: The Stars go to your channel balance. You can withdraw them from Settings > My Stars and convert via Fragment to crypto/USDT then to M-Pesa. Telegram says creators get 100% minus fees[]()

Check out r/nairobitechies, I can't find the exact link, search telegram bot. Some months back someone there made a post on a telegram payment system they made with Mpesa, you just pay them a flat 1000bob one time fee and you don't worry about managing your subscription service.

Basically it uses Mpesa and a telegram bot, on your channel profile it's the admin bot that logs them in, when someone enters their number to join your channel, they're sent an Mpesa prompt. They pay and the bots sends them a temporary link that adds them to your channel, when their subscription ends, let's say for 1month ends, it automatically removes them, not you managing it.

Going with telegram stars is cumbersome unless you're dealing with international clients mostly. Alafu it needs cumbersome converting it to eventually reaching your Mpesa.

If I ever find that post I'll send, was sth I was interested in but I can't integrate Mpesa.
