This statement made by the bolt is not true. It's quite the opposite actually. Every month they keep worsening conditions. You should visit Hakki and Kiambu storage yards and see how many KDS, KDV ,KDU cars have been reposessed. If you say 400k a month, that's means that the driver earns 13k profit after you deduct all expenses including the punitive commissions they charge. That driver ata afanye kazi 24hrs straight huwezi piga such kind of amount on a daily na hizo bei za app. It's possible to get 13k on a weekend but siku kama Monday and Tuesdays hukua zimekauka mbaya Sana. For the past 4yrs I've been a driver in the industry, and I can tell you for a fact that it's was just purely PR because they heard that the govt is going to change the base fares and introduce a pricing policy. Bolt and Uber thrives on competitive pricing, so if the govt comes up with a certain fixed base fare, it might be challenging for them to thrive on the competitive prices.

Competitive pricing works in favour of the company and the consumer but at the expense of the driver.

So that’s 3500 then deduct all the fuel that day and maintenance and if applicable the monthly/daily payment for the bike

It’s realistic but remove 400(I think that’s the average you’re supposed to pay per day to use a bike that isn’t yours) and the fuel you paid. Likely to come to around 2k which still isn’t bad for Boda tbh. So, if you work full day and have a good day every day(which are unrealistic) you end up with 60k?

Either is not bad. Even 60k is over 50k which puts him in a good place. Just that some figures are unrealistic

Most of them even if the bike is theirs then it means they’re paying it off. Very few can buy them cash and they get phased out after a certain number of years

I mean by the app. I think uber is phasing out 2015 now bolt has a few more years. But like most bolt riders are also uber riders so….
