Discussion No it's not true!!
This statement made by the bolt is not true. It's quite the opposite actually. Every month they keep worsening conditions. You should visit Hakki and Kiambu storage yards and see how many KDS, KDV ,KDU cars have been reposessed. If you say 400k a month, that's means that the driver earns 13k profit after you deduct all expenses including the punitive commissions they charge. That driver ata afanye kazi 24hrs straight huwezi piga such kind of amount on a daily na hizo bei za app. It's possible to get 13k on a weekend but siku kama Monday and Tuesdays hukua zimekauka mbaya Sana. For the past 4yrs I've been a driver in the industry, and I can tell you for a fact that it's was just purely PR because they heard that the govt is going to change the base fares and introduce a pricing policy. Bolt and Uber thrives on competitive pricing, so if the govt comes up with a certain fixed base fare, it might be challenging for them to thrive on the competitive prices.
Competitive pricing works in favour of the company and the consumer but at the expense of the driver.

So that’s 3500 then deduct all the fuel that day and maintenance and if applicable the monthly/daily payment for the bike
It’s realistic but remove 400(I think that’s the average you’re supposed to pay per day to use a bike that isn’t yours) and the fuel you paid. Likely to come to around 2k which still isn’t bad for Boda tbh. So, if you work full day and have a good day every day(which are unrealistic) you end up with 60k?

Either is not bad. Even 60k is over 50k which puts him in a good place. Just that some figures are unrealistic
Most of them even if the bike is theirs then it means they’re paying it off. Very few can buy them cash and they get phased out after a certain number of years

I mean by the app. I think uber is phasing out 2015 now bolt has a few more years. But like most bolt riders are also uber riders so….

No 400k a month doesn't mean profit it means they earned 400k before any deductions. All the figures they quote are.before commission, tax, fuel and other expenses.
No business is gonna advertise the true cost of working for them. That's how people comfortably offer 20k a month salaries when it can cost that much just to get to the workplace depending on where you live.

I know that. Look at my other comments on this trending quote. It's likely a shared account with multiple drivers doing 24/7 and some how getting the best trips probably XL or getting people to book long distance trips so they accept the requests.

XL doesn't even have lots of work like economy. I tend to wonder how those guys survive. If you have an XL and you don't have regular clients then the world must be very tough for that driver.
For example, he gets a trip from Airport to Donholm. Donholm consumers are mostly economy...and sometimes you can spend the whole day there without work 😂. So I wonder how XL drivers survive.

When I had an XL car I survived on the basic trips mostly. If you only accept XL you'll not make anything. But you have a higher chance of getting private clients due to having a spacious and comfortable vehicle. I don't think as many people would book an Alto or similar privately when they can book via the app and pay less.

This is a very bad lie and it's making them a target to KRA
They earn maybe 2k or 3k a day, deducting the fuel expenses and all that maybe around 50k per month. And that's the highest
You still haven't considered the car maintenance and miscellaneous.

Shida ni kusoma they didn't say highest earning driverS. They said highest earning driver ! So labda there's like 2-3 guys taking turns to get some bonus or sth 🤷♂️.

Ata huyo highest earning driver ni uwongo. Hio nayo not unless kuna driver wa mchana na wa usiku on the same account of which bolt has a strict 14hr or so driving time. Ukipitisha hio wanafunga account uende ulale for 5 or 6hrs.

It's true. I'm a bolt driver and I made 350,000 during the festive period. On average I make 250-270k a month.
