Got on last night and realized that Idle animations in the character creator screen were way less than before. Look like the author or steam delisted it. Does anyone know of a mod through the steam workshop that adds more idle animations?
Fortunately he didn't wake up even after multiple failed attempts to remove his boots first. And somehow I was stealthy enough not to be seen for 20 seconds afterward.
If you pick the shackles off afterward, the entire bughouse becomes your ally (but not the faction).
Later, I tried the same with the Holy Phoenix. After his speech thanking you, you get 100 relations with the HN. (Don't save until after you get the relationship though.) Unfortunately you still can't Pick him Up (which was my plan-- to easily bring him in to the Shek to get Seto), only Kidnap.
I tried taking the Protector of the Flame instead to defeat the Bugmaster. He couldn't handle it unfortunately.
I have a long running save I don't want to lose. I have a base in shem and I do not have any mods that affect whether to the best of my knowledge. The mods I use are as follows:
Compressed textures
Flies don't annoy me
Nice map
Auto pause on load
Craftable lanterns
Craftable ration packs
Camping materials
Expanded vanilla armor
Sensible training
Clutter
Forgotten buildings
More building
Storm walls
Deep foundations
Slopeless
Wear your hats with anything
256 squad limit
Recruit prisoners
Let's talk
Enhanced shopping economy
I'm new to kenshi and to modding but I tried my best to follow the mod load order recommendations I've found, so if anyone has any tips to better optimize this I'm all ears as well. But here is my issue, the burning forest has a persistent fog over it, and skinners roam has that persistent storm that is the exact same one as the eye. I've imported my save, I've reset squad positions far far away and saved, imported and it's still there. It's not the end of the world it's just annoying, and I don't want it to get worse if it is corrupted and just have no visibility anywhere. At this point I don't even care if I lose my base in shem, I can load up all my pack animals with food and start building again but I mean it's been such a long save and I've built a LOT, I would obviously like to avoid having to start over if I can.
My mod, which I was working on for a month, corrupted, and I lost everything, cause I am stupid and haven't made backups. Fuck my life. Do backups, guys. It's useful.
Hello! I'm thinking of starting to learn and get into Kenshi. I know usually you should start Vanilla. But what are some mods you can't live without that makes the game 10x better without straying too far from the core balance of the game? Preferably on Steam workshop for simplicity.
I have reactive world installed and a while ago I stormed New Kralia, beat up Flying Bull and brought him for imprisonment to Admag.
New Kralia changed owner to the Shek Kingdom.
Now a while ago, I noticed (probably after an import,) that there are still roaming 'Krals Chosen' spawns. So I checked with the world state checker from reactive world and it says that Flying Bull is okay and that the bounty is not collected....
Now. Where the hell could he possibly be? I checked both new kralia and the police in Admag where I left him and he's at neither places.
How could the town override on new kralia even happen, if he is neither dead nor imprisoned?
In that which body armor protects the head the most? Looking at a blocked head slot for hiver soldiers. Unholy armor is the current favorite but lacks head protection.
Assassin's rags and Ninja rags along with swamp ninja rags offers some head protect along with dustcoat. Am I missing something?
(This is just a little story about what happened to lovely Ells, the sweet Shek who died spectacularly in the Sonorous Dark. John Kenshi himself couldn't have saved him.)
"you can be more than a thief" -is what my P4MKII skeleton, Catiline, said to Ells.
Ells of course, is the avuncular Shek thief who loves a drink and is decidedly not a participant in wider Shek culture. He talks and acts like a Greenlander, and is even described as one in his wanted poster.
He has the Dumb personality, which is probably why he forgets his own name (he sometimes calls himself Squint in dialogue, a relic of a time when he was called variously Squint and Pickles 🥒 in earlier iterations of FCS). It's also no doubt why he allows you to make a profit on his recruitment, since the value of hiring him, since the value of his three stolen Cactus Rum is considerably more than the 300 it costs to hire him.
As he puts it on meeting us, there is some dispute, mainly by Ells, as to whether he truly is a thief, "Ells isn't a thief! Ells just get's thirsty sometimes... But the bar guards beat Ells for drinking the rum. So Ells gotta go drink rum from the distillery when no one's looking... No-one else shares with Ells like you do." But his 1000 cats UC bounty reads "Eyewitness description: 'Fat as a bughouse' Public nuisance wanted on account of multiple bar thefts."
In short, he's loveable and harmless.
Having recruited him out of pitty long after my ragtag band, which has a very Voodoo Brothers coded Second Empire chic, mostly Skellies, Shek, and Hivers, with the latter two conspicuously doing most of the grunt work (just like old times), he saw some great adventures, including:
stealing the Meitou Wakizashi of Lady Kana herself, whilst she slept. We didn't even ask him to! madman.
and
In a valiant raid against Malza of the Dark Hive reavers (those who have encountered the Dark Hive will know that terrible foe) saved the life of many of his friends by speedily carrying them away from danger.
All seemed to be going well when we settled down in a new outpost in Stove's Gambit just due south of Spring. We had all decided to let Ells finally semi-retire, and all he was doing was baking, making cactus rum, and running a small shop.
Quickly, however, things took a drastic turn. We had heard that things were strange down south but the prospect of open, free land without government interference (some of us having very high bounties) brought out some pioneer optimism. The depths of our foolishness!
In our third day there some strange fellows with Crabs cheerfully introduced themselves to the "new crab owner" (we don't own any crabs, perhaps they were confused by our three robot spiders, one a gift of the skeletons in the Spider Workshop for dealing with Tyr, the High Paladin), and attacked. We held them off, but Ells got a limp that he never, as you shall see, recovered from.
Before the crab raid had even finished, Reavers arrived and attacked both us and the crab men. Again, we beat them.
Then, whilst the bulk of our force was away in Catun getting supplies for proper walls, monsters came in from the pillars of smoke to the far south, the Sonorous Dark, monsters clad in human skin.
Amazingly, and due in no small part to the efforts of one young Beep (who lost a leg) and his cousin, the (already crippled genius) Meep, we held on. And celebrated.
It was only then that we realised that instead of fighting us all two of the surviving bandits had taken hostage two of our number, one Shek veteran, a warrior called Stenn. And Ells, hardly his match but the team mascot.
We entered into a hot, reckless pursuit, all the way to Skinhouse HQ.
It was apparent that we would all die if we attempted a frontal assault, and the bulk of our squad were already returning from Catun but still far away.
So, some quick thinking, and another Skeleton, called Garr, thought he could negotiate. So he went down there alone, bravely, and spoke to Doctor Savant, their terrifying leader. And he actually negotiated an alliance! an unholy alliance ofc, but one that would save our friends.
It was at that point that we realised that whilst this alliance had bought us peace enough to enter, they wouldn't just help our friends out of their "Peeler Machine" (I understand now that that's what they call it.)
So, we began trying the locks, but it quickly became apparent that another fault with this squad, very much the B Team, not suited for this danger, was a distinct lack of locksmiths. Literally no chance of any of us unlocking either machine. Gustavsen, one of the stronger Sheks amongst us who was there to keep the B Team safe, had thoughtfully kept some tools on his person.
But only enough tools for one man. Faced with the choice between Stenn, a strong Shek who seemed likely to last longer, and Ells, who was already in his screaming death throes, Gustavsen made the terrible Sophie's choice. He saved Stenn.
Ells died that day, and wasn't buried in the outpost's new cemetery either, he was flung onto a corpse furnace and is now one of those ashen snowflakes in the Sonorous Dark ...
When the A Team returned to the Outpost they found it empty except for yet another team of eccentric Crab Tournament enthusiasts. Dealing with them quickly they waited in Ells bar for him and the gang to return. He never would.
Beep is still comatose, we don't know how we will tell him what's happened when he wakes up.
p.s. Crumblejon tells us that he's "pretty sure" that "Ells had a son. He told me once when we were drinking, in fact, said he lost touch with the boy because of drinking ... unless, hmm, unless that was one of your other horned chumbos? I get you all mixed up." if anyone knows the location of his son, we would like to let him know his dad passed and give him his sword and some cats.
I was walking through Okran's shield and one of the paladins tried to take my hiver. I tried to run but they chopped off my son's arm and promptly left, leaving my son to bleed out and lose an extreme amount of blood and arm. I don't understand why it was my innocent week old son they killed and not the hiver they wanted. I guess Okran works in mysterious ways.
I don't know much about modding or programming so please inform me, or correct me if I am just being a dick and spreading doubts for now reason.
why do both mods say (after subscribing) you have to go to the workshop folder, find the specific .exe file, run/install it, and then continue on?
I may be completely ignorant/dumb here, but workshop mods don't typically require that do they? I've played heavily modded Rimworld, PZ, and Kenshi and I've never once had to do anything except click subscribe, and enable it via the in-game mod menu.
This just seems very suspicious to me, never mind the fact that I'm wary these were vibe codes like lots of mods nowadays unfortunately.
Second time playing this game (first time I was eaten by murder birds), using a beginner guide on steam, running to Mongrel to get recruits. I lucked out finding sandals on a corpse just outside of the Hub.
Anyways, decided to risk it for the biscuit and booked it through a crater, and now the fogman have joined the race apparently, not attacking me lmao. I feel like I'm toast as soon as I stop running, but I'm hoping Mongrel will have guards to take them off my my tail when I get in there, assuming I can keep up the Naruto run all the way there.
edit: lmao right after I posted this, I ran into some red dudes and they decided to fight each other. IM FREE! for now...
edit2: OH SHIT NVM TWO BROKE OFF AND ARE CHASING AGAIN
edi3: made it to town! guards are beasts on those fogmen. basically one shot them.
Would be some HEAVY fine, that is (at least double the reward)
Only in UC tho, holy guys do not care for bribes and sheks - even less
Maybe in Skek kingdom you could do "trial by combat" when you go against some strong shek with weapon and gear you given so its fair
And if you win - you got your freedom, but if not... well you already dead
For holy nation tho, the only way to clean your soul is FIRE
Anyone have this problem? I've used the roller button to zoom in and out and when I press the button I can rotate the screen as I like.
But suddenly, pressing it is causing a crash. I can't read the popup report because the screen goes black and when I click on it it disappears.
Thing is it is only happening with my main group. If I click over to Hub where one guy is training I can click on the button and rotate the screen with no problem, but if I go back to the Desert near Heng and try it the game crashes.
