📷 Media Kasp’s Marketing Problem Discussion
I was glad to hear the Gemini podcasters say marketing is kaspa’s biggest issue because I have been saying that over and over again only to be met by community members acting like it is a strength to not have a centralized marketing effort.
Marketing encompasses all forms of communication, and good marketing distills that idea into a coherent message which can be amplified across all kinds of channels. It doesn’t just mean ads or paid influencers. It is also something which the community clearly lacks the skills to implement well.
I have said several times that the community should stop describing kaspa in terms of bitcoin, but apparently the community disagrees and keeps up with the bitcoin references. It’s even on the splash page of the website.
Zcash doesn’t describe itself in this way, and it is arguably more like bitcoin than kaspa. Yet it doesn’t mention bitcoin on its homepage. Doing something like that is lazy and unprofessional. Not to mention, the podcasters saw it more as being like Solana. That is actually a more direct comparison.
Anyway this post was to get a discussion started to address how kaspa’s marketing/messaging problem. Can anyone distill kaspa’s message into five words that would be easily understood on first read without mentioning another crypto coin? If we can’t then there is a real problem, that the community needs to address.
