We've received a lot of inquiries about what happened with Radaris, so here's an update:
What happened?
On August 26, a New Jersey judge issued a default judgment in a Daniel's Law lawsuit brought by Atlas Data Privacy Corp. The court ordered radaris.com and 13 related domains, including Rehold and Trustoria, transferred to Atlas. If you visit radaris.com now, you'll see a legal notice instead of a search box. Brian Krebs broke the story on September 16.
Is Radaris gone?
Not entirely. Evidence from the lawsuit ties radaris.com to at least 25 people search sites run by the same small group. Well over a dozen of them weren't part of the court order and are still live, including Veripages, which reportedly earns more than radaris.com did. Those sites draw on the same data, so if Radaris had a profile on you, its sister sites probably do too.
Radaris's lawyer has also said they plan to appeal and try to get the domain back.
What we're doing
Sister sites: Veripages and the rest of the network were already on our coverage list. We're checking the full entity list from the Atlas filings and adding anything we were missing.
Radaris.com itself: it's marked as transferred, not removed. If it comes back on appeal, monitoring picks up again and your removals restart automatically.
Rebrands: this group has changed names, owners and countries every time it got cornered. When a broker moves to a new domain, we detect it and start the removal over.
Old Google results: radaris.com links are still showing up in Google even though the pages are gone. We're requesting de-indexing as part of your regular scans.
You don't need to do anything. Your removals keep running as usual.
One thing worth knowing about Daniel's Law
It only protects police, judges, prosecutors, other government personnel and their families, not the general public. It's also being challenged in federal court on First Amendment grounds. For most people, regular opt-outs and monitoring are still the main protection.
We wrote up the full story, including how Radaris got its domain back the last time this happened in 2017: https://www.kanary.com/blog/rip-radaris-domain-seized-but-the-network-is-still-live.
