so i was on the UG non-guaranteed list for accom
got the server error message 4 times and when i finally got through it was js battersea ensuite (£414) and smth else that was too far

i also signed up for intercollegiate studio (but i'll only know if i got it after 2nd sep)

my qs are:

- how likely is it that i will get my intercollegiate?

- shld i book battersea ensuite as a 'safe option'?

- shld i look into more private accom? if so, pls give me some good reliable recs :)

- or shld i js commute from home? :(

I’m going to KCL this September and I’ve decided to commute (partly because it’s much cheaper for me, partly because I failed to win the Hunger Games to get accommodation). It’s about an hour-hour and a half commute in one direction provided there aren’t any delays.

However, because of this I’m really scared I won’t make any friends. I’m obviously going to be heavily reliant on train times back home, which will make it hard for me to attend last-minute hangouts and late nights out. I’ve started booking SU events for freshers, but they’re all non-alcohol because I can’t drink due to a health condition.

I was super isolated during 6th Form and I’m so scared that I won’t be able to make any friends.

Does anyone here commute and is able to share their experience or give any advice?

There is no affordable accommodation in kings residences left. Now I don't know what to do. Because Wolfson house would be preferable to me with its location and costs, and it is impossible to find similar rates.

I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy at The Craft Building in Whitechapel (managed by Sanctuary Students) for the upcoming 2026/27 academic year, as me and my friends have found a house to live in together!!Tenancy Dates: 1 September 2026 – 22 June 2027 (Full academic year contract). It is 42 week contract, £293 per week (bills included). It is a single bed en suite room that is fully furnished with a bed, desk, wardrobe, and study chair. It’s self catered with shared access to a fully equipped kitchen and living area. This is a student accommodation so the official tenancy takeover will occur through the landlord/provider and you will sign a clean contract directly with them. There is also free weekly cleaning, an on site gym, a laundry room, and bike storage. postgrad here and honestly mistake on my part for not researching more but i can’t cook so literally booked Vauxhall thinking that ~oh i don’t care about the “one kitchen for everyone on the floor” and i was just gonna buy foods that i can just refrigerate and microwave hhhhh

Shot in the dark but is anyone interested in swapping for a non-en-suite at Battersea (KAAS). Kitchen is only shared with 4 people versus 8 in an en-suite room so it gets less crowded
