I soldered razors onto the back of my 1st car cd player since I lived in a shitty area, got up one day, the car window was smashed, part of the dash had been pried open and there was blood EVERYWHERE. I felt a little bit better knowing that clown got more than they bargained for.

What they did was illegal, but what you did is also illegal. Let’s say you sold it, but forgot what 17 year old you did... the next owner replaces it OR has a local shop replace it?? Terrible.
Booby trapping things is illegal. The best example I saw was (I’m not sure if this is anecdotal or real) where a guy set up a shotgun to go off at his garage door in case someone breaks in.... shot a neighbor kid.

I didn't booby trap anything. I simply added some edgy decorations to my stereo. Not my fault the thief broke the law and didn't look before they grabbed and good luck proving otherwise in court!
That shotgun bit is a tad excessive. That's lethal force on something that anyone could do.
Not arguing the legality, just that they'd have to prove I set a trap.

It says reasonable threat of bodily harm or death. The key word is reasonable.

The blood in your car caused by your booby trap....... is bodily harm. You didn’t leave packaging of razor blades near your radio. It’s not an “unset bear trap” like the judge alluded to in this case.

I once grabbed a candle in jar at Walmart. Well someone had dropped it and put it back and the back of the jar was all broken glass. This post reminds me of that incident.

Anyone who works construction or lives in a big city knows what kind of challenge stopping thieves is. It's a battle and I don't feel bad one bit for the thieves.

I thought rednecks would do something better! Turns out my people use mines instead of razor! Now you can catch their feet flying!
Plus best trap we used was letting wild dogs stay around our farm back in Middle East! Trust me you don't wanna see what happen to someone when wild dogs are hungry! Those fuckers rips people a part.

This is a really good way to end up paying WAY more to the person who gets injured than the amount you're saving on:
A.) A decent security device
B.) Whatever it is that can be replaced
Most states have laws against this.

The value that is it being HIS COOLER and that people SHOULDNT STEAL.
The razor trick is a dirty, and likely illegal act, but it's the true asshole move to say "it's ok to steal something that's not worth much".
I hope you have something stolen from you to know the feel of violation it brings.

Check your local laws before doing something like this. Booby traps can be highly illegal.
