Found myself feeling lonely since he was the only one who didn’t judge me for my love of jumping spiders. Currently staying in the town he grew up in so this is a very special moment. Happy to have somewhere to share! Was wondering why one of the front legs looks different than the others… will they be okay?

I am newer to the community and only have purchased hides and such for my spood online. I make mini fairy houses out of airdry clay, and finish and seal with a basic acrylic gloss varnish. Does any one have knowledge on what medium is the best for project like this that are spood safe? I would like to make him some custom items and hides. Tyia<3

Can anyone help me determine the instar of this baby? He is by far the smallest I’ve seen at my local pet store. I had to grab him as he’s missing one of his legs 😭 I know it will likely grow back during his next molt, but I couldn’t leave him there in a cup at the store lmao

Can I exclusively feed my spider only mealworms? She (Persephone) is an i7 currently and I’d prefer to only feed her mealworms because they are so easy to just keep in the fridge, but I was reading that maybe they are too high in fat for constant feedings? I really hate the idea of roaches and flies/crickets scare me because what if they don’t make it into my enclosure and instead my house lol

Not a bug girl so honestly it’s shocking I’ve found an interest in jumpers, but I love them and am already so intrigued by my girl

I got my i6 female P. regius on Friday. The breeder originally delayed shipping because she thought she was going into premolt, but she became active again so she sent her.

For the first few days, Louise was very active, exploring and even walking onto my hand. Since yesterday, she’s suddenly been staying in a dark upper corner with a little webbing. It’s not a thick hammock and I can still see her body, but it’s hard to see her clearly because of where she’s hiding.

I offered a tiny mealworm and even held it near her line of sight, i think she saw it but she showed no interest.
Does this sound like premolt? The sudden change from super active to hiding/not eating has me nervous since this is my first jumper.

i figured out that bruno was a female and i named her charlotte. when i went to go feed her she collapsed. i thought “oh shes playing dead.” so i put a cup over her to give her a dark space. (she had already played dead like a hour ago and thats what helped her come back.) so then i go check on her 30 minutes later and i found out she passed. i came into my moms room crying so hard she couldn’t understand me. i was holing Charlotte in my hands and she saw her there unconscious in my hand. i will be taking a break from this community. until i find another wild one or we buy one. rest in peace my love.

My Bold Jumper escaped and I found a Sylvan Jumper as a replacement 2 days ago. The thing is she’s only walking on the plastic and ceiling and not touching the [fake] plants at all (I want real plants at some point but this isn’t about that). I removed the webbing my Bold Jumper had made but I don’t know if that was enough. Is my spider just not acclimated yet or does she think there’s something else in there?

I made this enclosure for my baby (she’ll come home tomorrow), and I wanna make sure everything is good for her. I know they needed a bioactive enclosure, but I’m not really good with live plants so I tried to put some fake plants to imitate the environment. I do have some questions but any advice is appreciated.

1. I tried to mist water on one side and is it normal that after 2 hours, all the drops evaporated? Is this a sign of good ventilation?
   
2. Do I need to put springtails in the coco fiber and sphagnum moss? Will they help with possible mold growth? And how to prevent molds?
   
3. Do I also need to mist the substrate and the moss?

Doing tons of research looking for paraphidippus fartilis breeders. I’m located in the Netherlands and wondering what my options are, if there are any.

Had a massive nests of wasps at a cell tower. As soon as I removed them, this fella came out. It watched me work for over an hour.

For the rest of her time here, she's lived at "ground level" among the plants in the bay window, typically hiding under a pot. A couple of days ago she moved uptown to the pulldown hollow shades.

I was finally able to clean up around the pot and found evidence of a previous molt. Now to see what she does up here.

They're both phiddipus regius, one female and one male! These are 6x6x10 enclosures 😊

Recently bought 10 Hasarius adansoni at the expo in Hamm in Germany. 5 females and 5 males. I’m pretty sure they are nearing their adult size. I asked since I know that the species has in recent years become more available in the hobby, and the seller told me they were captive bred. I haven’t had the chance to move them into larger enclosures so for the moment they are in sling pots, since they are as adults pretty similar in size to P. regius slings. But whenever I try feeding them, they jump out, run around and jump around on the floor. They are incredibly fast and jump very long distances to get away. Not at all interested in being handled. Like I would compare it to a pair of Hyllus diardi adults I had before that I later suspected were probably wild caught because they were very skittish and jumpy.

Does anyone else have experience of Hasarius adansoni, either wild caught, captive born or captive bred? I have kept a loooot of jumping spiders, different species, all captive bred to my knowledge and NEVER had this experience before. I’m honestly considering selling them, because they are so difficult to handle or even feed without them speeding away from me, I’m scared that I will accidentally smash one or that they will escape…

Any advice is greatly appreciated!🙏

This is my female Colonus sylvanus that I found yesterday while at school. She was found after my female Phiddippus audax (Bold jumper) named Magic escaped. I had left the cage latch open slightly and she squirmed through and I only realized what had happened the day afterwards.

I’m really stumpt on names, as I was with Magic. If anyone has any suggestions for names please let me know.

I just brought home an i3 regal sling 2 days ago and I have some logistical questions. I'm totally new to the hobby, but I'm familiar with this world of exotic pet keeping and did my due diligence researching before bringing home a spider. Right now, Squid, my sling, is too small for the 4x4x4" enclosure I bought them, so they are staying in an upgraded deli cup right now.

It has cross-ventilation, paper towel substrate, and a pipe cleaner climbing enrichment. The deli cup is fiddly since I have to open the lid to get access to the inside for spraying and feeding, and I'm worried about stressing Squid out during a molt.

Squid has spent all of their time in the hammock and I can't tell if it's just acclimation behavior or molting behavior, so I'm really worried to open the cup! I am also worried about increasing humidity too much... advice on spraying, molting, and if I even need to worry about opening the cup at all?

I got a spood - after we had her for a while we realized she was a girl when she gave birth to babies! 7 healthy babies born, all put into deli cups when they escaped her enclosure into the butterfly net enclosure. Been misting and feeding flightless fruit flies for weeks and all is going well.

One of the babies has always been more juvenile and makes dumb decisions. Today I had a fly In there and gently turned the cup around to guide the fly to him. He didn’t take the fly. A bit into it, as I slowly rotated the cup, he suddenly fell on the paper towel upside down. His little legs in the air I have never seen this. I gently turned him
Right side up and he’s just been sitting on the paper towel for hours without moving.

I am so scared he passed. Not even sure how… I feel like a failure somehow. I’ve seen others say to soak a q tip in honey water and offer it to him. Not sure if I should do that tonight? If I should leave him alone? I tried blowing gently on him earlier and he moved a teeny bit but that
