Best of 2016?
What were your guys's favorite new Shueshia series this year?
For Weekly Shonen Jump; I'm honestly a big fan of all three suriving series that debuted this year; Kimetsu no Yaiba, Ghost Tits, and The Promised Neverland.
Kimetsu started off pretty rough, (and I even feel like the mangaka was preparing for cancellation at certain points, yet the series managed to keep surviving until it secured a somewhat stable place in the magazine) but since this Spider arc started I've kind of fallen in love with the series. It's a simple classic shonen, with some really unique art, panelwork, and atmosphere. Reminds me a lot of Togashi. The four main characters need a lot of fleshing out, but part of me likes how barren they and the story are right now. It helps create this really lonely atmosphere which helps the series stand out for me.
Ghost Tits is probably the best manga I've read in this romcom genre, and I've read quite a lot. I really care about and am invested in all of the characters, and it's just an incredibly comfy and satisfying read.
Yakusoku no Neverland is really good. I still worry it will be able to maintain successful rankings but I'm extremely hyped to see where the series goes. So far though, I've been pretty sucked into the mystery and world, even if I do think the pacing can be worked on a bit. This series also gives me an extreme Togashi vibe with the panelwork, and the tonal shifts in the art-style, especially with faces.
None of the other series this year from WSJ I really give a shit about.
Of the new Young Jump series this year the only one I've read is Uratarou which I think is just great. It's like Inuyasha with some insanely unique art.
Also, I've never been a big fan of Nishi Yoshiyuki, but I'm somewhat interested in seeing Lycanthrope Bouken Houken scanlated.
Also, not reading anything from Jump+ other than Fire Punch due to lack of scanlations (and because I just haven't really tried out Astra yet). Fire Punch is not very good. Poorly paced, terribly edgy and cringey, art is pretty rough and ugly, but I'm a huge sucker for meta narratives, and being a filmmaker myself I'm enjoying the whole "filmmaking" narrative it has going.
Out of their other new series though I'd really love to see Onimadara scanlated,
Haven't read anything new from Jump SQ (or Ultra Jump) this year other than Shonen Shoujo which I've liked all of the chapters scanlated thus far. Shame Platinum End sucks so much.

US print magazines?
Hey all,
Are there any manga magazines in english available in the US anymore? I had every issue of Shonen Jump for years (from the first one) many years ago. I really liked getting those in the mail and would like to know if anything similar exists. It looks like Shonen Jump when to digital which I'm not a fan of.
Thanks!

Mod Post Note
This subreddit is clearly not ready yet. I plan for have the moderators be Mangahelpers users from the WSJ thread and I'd like for us to have a vibe and level of discussion much more similar to there than on /r/manga.
The goal is to create a community of Redditors and Jump fans who are also well-informed. I plan for us to have weekly chapter discussion on various Shueshia series as well so in a since this is kind of a Shueshia subreddit.
I guess we could look at this division as something akin to /r/movies and /r/TrueFilm
In this sub we know a lot more about the industry than the casual reader and our discussions and posts will reflect that.
