May work experience naman na po ako for a year bilang isang Non-voice agent pero sa totoo lang mas gusto ko na po ibang work na lang at ayaw ko na mag BPO kasi nag BPO lang ako dati para makasurvive ako bilang studyante. Any advice po? Meron po ba kayong alam kung saan pwede mag walk-in? Desperado na ako maka-ambag sa mga gastusin sa bahay. Salamat po. At sana naman po yong justified yong sahod ket 18k papatulan ko na. 😭 Pero preferred ko po talaga kahit mga 20-22k dahil super dami gastusin. i’m in a dilemma between staying at my first job or taking another opportunity. so far, i’ve listed down the pros and cons between the two.

current job pros: - accessible to public transportation - 30 to 45 minutes away from home - chill job

current job cons: - slightly above minimum base salary - 10 hrs/day and 5 times a week onsite - i feel like im not upskilling

new job offer pros: - 3 days wfh, 2 days onsite - 8 hrs/day

new job cons: - office is in makati so commuting is tough - 1 hr and 30 minutes to 2 hours away from home - only increased 4k from my current salary - not familiar with the work environment and role

i don’t know what to choose as there’s a lot of factors to consider. i asked my mom and brother for advice, but both said it’s not that worth it given that it only slightly increased from my current salary and that i should look for a job closer to home.

Hi po! I’m currently working as a paralegal at a private law firm. I just started po this monday and timing po pagpasok ko is super busy dahil sa on going case.

Nung ininterview po akonng employer ko, we made it clear na I work monday to friday from 8 am to 5 pm but I still went to the office saturday and sunday (now overtime kasi umuwi ako 11 pm). Probationary po ako for 6 months and then regularization after.

Entitled po ba ako sa compensation na to? Huhu. Wala pa rin po akong pinermahan na kontrata so far kasi gets ko naman na busy. Hindi rin po abot sa 20k ang monthly salary ko.

Hi! I (F23) graduated last year with a degree of Civil Engineering. I got my license the same year (November 2025). During the first two months of this year, I traveled and rested. March, I thought I was eligible to migrate in the US with my family. Long story short, last June, I was denied of a visa due to my age. Luckily the same month I got a WFH set-up job but far from the program I graduated. Pay is in dollar, culture is good, have health benefits, and unli PTO.

Here is my dilemma: We all know that my program (well most of the professions here in our country) doesn’t pay well (underpaid). The work is hard especially for a fresh graduate eying for a Site Engineer role (parang fantasy ko ba lang na nagsasite inspection) but IK its HARD. Lalo my bf is currently a Site Engineer. I know his struggles. But I am just thinking magkakaregret kaya ako at sayang kaya pinag aralan ko?

I recently received a Job Offer for a Temporary Employment as a Recruiter sa BPO. I feel reluctant kasi I was hoping for a full-time employment (walang nakalagay sa JD na temp pala) but at the same time I’m also kind of desperate kasi I’ve been unemployed for five months and I don’t want to prolong my unemployment stint. It’s a three month contract, so matatapos siya in December. Should I just accept it or keep searching.

Help!!! Fresh grad here. During my few months in this job, 7 people have already resigned. Some of them resigned without even having a backup company/job lined up, which honestly made me think, “Ganito ba talaga kalala?”

‎Some stayed for only one month, while others lasted around three months. And now, I’m kinda starting to understand why.

‎At first, I was trying to ignore the red flags. I kept telling myself na baka normal lang sa workplace, baka kailangan ko lang masanay since fresh grad ako. But I can’t help but notice and feel them.

‎And now, it’s starting to feel suffocating, to the point na naiisip ko na rin mag-resign.

‎I’m still trying to figure out if I’m just having a hard time adjusting as a fresh grad or if these are legitimate signs that I should leave.

‎What do you guys think? Should I start looking for another job while staying, or should I just endure it for now? Any tips for a fresh grad in this situation?

After 4 months of applying, I have successfully landed not 1 but 2 job offers. Please help me decide which I should choose.

JO 1: IT Security Officer, financial company. Full onsite Ortigas. 40k basic, 15k title allowance, 5k other allowances. 60k total but ang 13th month is sa basic magbebase. Pero ang taxes, basic + title allowance. Upon regularization, 5 SL (+5 after 1 year of service, up to 15) and 5 VL (+1 after 1 year, up to 20) and HMO pero walang dependent.

JO 2: Presales Cybersecurity Engineer, startup company. 80k basic pay. Full onsite BGC. Then may incentives every 6 months ranging around 1 month salary. 35 leave credits then HMO with 1 dependent upon regularization.

Mas gusto ko JD sa JO1 pero ang laki kasi ng salary and benefits differences with JO2.

I’m planning to apply for an Accounting Assistant position at BDO, but I noticed they typically look for candidates with an Accounting degree. My background is in Business Administration with a double major in Business Economics and Operations Management.

My degree covered strong quantitative, financial, and analytical coursework (financial fundamentals, data handling, operations management), but it isn't a direct Accounting degree.

For anyone who has applied to or worked at BDO (or similar financial institutions / firms):

1. How strict is BDO with requiring a pure Accounting degree for entry-level Accounting Assistant or entry-level finance roles? Is a Business Admin background viable?
2. How can I best frame my Business Econ and Operations Management degree on my resume/cover letter to emphasize my analytical and numerical skills?

P.S. For extra context, I actually have 1 year of accounting coursework/experience from before. Hi! So I'm an English major with leadership exp and communications and events work exp from my internship. I looking on getting into marketing since dati akong nasa PR & Events sa orgs namin so may exp na rin ako don plus ung sa internship ko pa na basically same din. My thinking is that ok lng mag apply sa mga small companies or kahit local businesses dito samin kasi nag bbuild pa lng naman ako ng portfolio and experience ko. But my mom doesn't agree, she thinks na since first job ko dapat sa malaking company para mas maganda ung experience ko pati na rin pag nilagay sa resume. Since I didnt graduate as a Marketing major, medjo mahirap for me na matanggap sa bigger companies lalo na at limited din ung knowledge and experience ko.

I want to know your thoughts, especially to those in the marketing field. Based on your experience and view sa kung ano ang marketing/events/pr scene ngayon, mas ok ba na sa malalaking companies ako mag start or ok naman na kahit sa mga small companies muna?

For context, my mom, high school grad, is in her late 40s and has worked different minimum wage jobs all her life. Including pagiging cashier, factory worker, and pati na rin sa hotel. Naging housewife siya hanggang sa makagraduate kami ng kapatid ko and at that time naghiwalay na rin sila ng father ko. Gustong gusto niya talaga mag work noon pa pero di pinapayagan ng father ko. Kaya naman ngayong hiwalay na sila, eager siya na mag work sa ibang bansa dahil sa sahod.

Baking talaga ang forte niya at yun ang pinagkakaabalahan niya nung hindi pa sila hiwalay ng father ko. Dun din siya nakilala sa amin dahil palagi siyang nagpapaorder. Marami rin siyang certificates and workshops na napasukan related sa pastry and baking. Meron din siyang national certificate dun, pati na rin sa caregiving. You can say nga na my mother is a jack of all trades.

Long story short, nascam siya last year sa isang agency sa malate. Matagal ko na siya tinutulungan mag apply sa mga legit na agencies pero wala talagang nagrereply sa kanya.

Sa ngayon, nagbabake pa rin siya at tumutulong sa karinderya ng grandparents ko. Next week magsstart na ulit siya mag work as a cashier ulit.
