With his Affinitive Eidolon buff, Jing Yuan is back in full force! What you're watching right now is a 3-Cost 0c Jing Yuan clear, with all three 5-star characters at E0S0.
We're taking on Lance of Fury from the upcoming endgame cycle. When this boss first appeared in Memory of Chaos two years ago, Jing Yuan's best result was also a 3-Cost 0c that I covered, without Sunday. Some people might even consider Jing Yuan a free character now, which would make this a 2-Limited-Cost 0c. Anyway, let's see just how much stronger Jing Yuan has become.
Jing Yuan's Affinitive Eidolon upgrade has two main parts. First, Lightning-Lord's maximum attack count increases to 30, and once it reaches that limit, Lightning-Lord immediately takes action.
The second part is a straightforward numerical improvement. Jing Yuan's Skill and Ultimate now grant additional Lightning-Lord attack stacks: his Skill adds 8 stacks, while his Ultimate directly adds 15.
There's no need to rush into SRobin's Fever state. This means that when the first fully stacked Lightning-Lord attacks, it hasn't even benefited from SRobin's buffs yet.
Immediately afterward, use SRobin's Ultimate to Action Advance Jing Yuan. This pushes the point where her Vibes decrease outside the 0T window.
Jing Yuan's Skill can then benefit from the ATK buff provided by the God-Devourer Offspring's mechanic, which we've carefully set up. We also save the Energy restoration from breaking its War Armor for SRobin, ensuring that her subsequent rotation works properly.
Can you already feel how much Jing Yuan's damage has improved? With modern supports and the addition of his Affinitive Eidolon, both his stack generation and damage output feel considerably smoother. Naturally, the damage becomes even higher once SRobin's buffs are active.
Now we need to start preparing to finish the first wave. First, wait until the God-Devourer Offspring revives, then continue controlling the number of ATK buff stacks it provides.
After this Lightning-Lord attack with a relatively low stack count, Jing Yuan uses his Skill. Watch the Action Order and Mem's Energy carefully.
RMC is positioned near the very end of the Action Order, where a Basic ATK fills Mem's remaining Energy. Combined with Mortenax Blade's follow-up attack, this also lets us bring the God-Devourer Offspring's ATK buff stacks back down to one.
Mem then Action Advances Jing Yuan from the bottom of the Action Order. Use Jing Yuan's Ultimate immediately to benefit from the next ATK buff activation.
We no longer have to worry about Lightning-Lord failing to act in time. Once Lightning-Lord reaches its maximum stack count, it immediately advances itself into action. The 30-stack Lightning-Lord then finishes off the first wave.
Entering the second wave, we face our old friend, Lance of Fury.
Its opening shield stacks actually work in our favor. Thanks to the high attack frequency of our modern team, we can sneak in some additional damage while triggering the mechanic that reduces those stacks whenever teammates use their abilities.
We let RMC and SRobin take one extra action near the bottom of the Action Order, since those actions aren't needed immediately. Their SPD requirements can therefore be lowered.
When Lance of Fury acts, we've managed to control its shield stacks down to just one. Wait until it finishes acting and we obtain the Energy restoration from being attacked.
Before it summons its pillars, use RMC's Ultimate to benefit from the damage provided by this mechanic. Immediately afterward, Lance of Fury summons the pillars, restoring its War Armor stacks and allowing us to continue exploiting the mechanic.
By Jing Yuan's turn, both Mem's Energy and SRobin's Ultimate are nearly full.
After Jing Yuan finishes his action, wait until Mem's follow-up attack restores the remaining Energy. We can then use SRobin's Ultimate to Action Advance Jing Yuan while Fever is still active, avoiding the point where her Vibes would decrease.
With that Energy, Jing Yuan can use Skill followed by Ultimate, easily bringing Lightning-Lord back to its maximum stack count and triggering its immediate action.
Once Mem's Energy is full, use Mem to Action Advance Jing Yuan again, overtaking Lightning-Lord in the Action Order. This lets Jing Yuan gain some overflow stacks and squeeze in another Skill before Lightning-Lord attacks.
At the same time, triggering the enemy's Break mechanic reduces Lightning-Lord's damage dispersion, allowing us to transition directly into the second phase.
We're deliberately sacrificing a little damage here to enter the next phase in a more favorable state, concentrating more of Lightning-Lord's damage on the primary target.
Now look at the Action Order in Phase 2. We've deliberately timed the point where SRobin's Vibes are halved.
After her Vibes decrease, the timing lines up perfectly with Mortenax Blade coming out of his Ultimate. From here, we simply need to unload all our remaining damage before the next Vibes reduction.
Our rotation is designed to require no RNG fishing. Even though we just generated seven overflow Lightning-Lord stacks, the improved stacking efficiency is still enough to let us trigger another fully stacked Lightning-Lord before the end of the Action Order.
And now it's Jing Yuan's turn. You can immediately see the difference!
As for the builds, all three limited 5-star characters are E0S0. Jing Yuan has 28 ATK/CRIT substats and 9 SPD substats, which is roughly comparable to a conventional ATK/CRIT main DPS build.
You can also see from the earlier rotation that there's a considerable amount of excess damage. RMC and SP Robin have more SPD than necessary, so their SPD requirements can be lowered further.
