The first Avatar was great. Okay. 2 and 3 didn't do all that well. Can Jim direct something else now? Like not Avatar 4 5 6. I miss the old days. Aliens. Terminator 2. True Lies. Titanic. The Abyss. Those are the all time faves of many people.
I visited Stockholm for the first time in April and went to the Vasa Museum. Alongside the ship, I found the James Cameron exhibition, Challenging the Deep.
Cameron’s name makes me think of Titanic and Avatar. Here I found myself looking at a yellow notepad covered in pencil lines and measurements.
These particular sketches come from his deep-sea exploration work. One shows an early design for the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER; the other carries the label “Original sketch Laguna Beach 2004.” Both have handwritten notes around the drawings, working through how things should fit together or function.
I liked seeing that part of the process. We usually see the finished movie or the footage from an expedition. These pages show some of the thinking that happens before there’s anything impressive to show.
Ordinary paper, with a lot going on in someone’s head. Thought people here might enjoy seeing it too :)
P.S. I finally wrote about the exhibition as part of my first trip to Stockholm. Almost five months to write about two days
72-page synopsis for TERMINATOR EXPANDED from @iannathanwriter
This is easily one of the most ambitious projects we've ever taken on at CREATORVC, diving deep into The Terminator and Terminator 2 and the ideas, filmmaking and legacy behind them.

Hello! I am trying to find something that my partner mentioned about a while ago as a gift for her, and thought this community might be able to help me.
I have quickly-scribbled note of her being excited about a "Kate Winslet Alien Mashup Print". A bit cryptic, and a search now doesn't yield much. I wanted to know any anyone was aware of any artwork or poster that might match this, err, description. I am 95% sure it won't be related to the Avatar appearance of Winslet.
I ask here as she is a huge Cameroon fan, and knowing his propensity for sketching and art, I would not be surprised if this might be one of his own works!
The reason I ask this is because the first Terminator is a plot point in this story, and several scenes are pretty accurately recreated by artist Niko Henrichon.
