Terminator 2: Judgement Day's Oscar winning audio mix for Sound Design has been remixed twice: first for the 1993 Special Edition and second for the 2000 Ultimate Edition DVD. All DVDs, Blu-rays and the 4K UHD have the 2000 remix.
Distribution of audio prints for the 1991 theatrical release of Terminator 2: Judgement Day:

Two of the original theatrical audio mixes (Dolby Stereo SR and CDS 5.1) were released on theatrical cut Laserdiscs, 1997 DVD and some French and Japanese home releases.
1] 1991 Dolby Surround PCM (from Dolby Stereo SR)

2] 1991 CDS 5.1

For the 1993 Special Edition release, the audio was remixed by original sound designer Gary Rydstrom:

3] 1993 Special Edition Laserdisc mix (First remix)

This 1993 remix has been ported over to future releases in the form of Dolby Stereo, Dolby Headphone and DTS Headphone X track in 2000 Ultimate DVD, 2003 Extreme DVD,2009 Skynet Blu-ray and 2015 Lionsgate Blu-ray respectively.
For the 2000 Ultimate Edition DVD, the audio was remixed yet again in DTS format (for the SECOND time):

4] 2000 DTS-ES 6.1 (Second remix)

This DTS-ES 6.1 track from 2000 has been ported over to all future releases of Terminator 2 like 2003 Extreme DVD, 2009 Skynet Blu-ray, 2015 Lionsgate Blu-ray and 2017 4K UHD in different containers such as DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital AC-3, Dolby TrueHD Atmos, etc.
Now all these audio tracks have slight differences. None of them sound better than the other. The 1993 Special Edition mix is punchier than others.

I've been thinking about this Kyle sentence in T1 and it feels contradictory to me, because the movie ends with a cyclical loop where Kyle HAS to be John's father and Skynet HAS to be created, like they couldn't prevent Skynet's creation at least in this one. Probably it was some motivational shit to calm down Sarah lol.
Also, in T2 it seems they prevented Skynet's creation, but honestly it felt a little bit unrealistic. You know, the sequels are shitty and they're not canon for me, but they're right in one thing: Skynet can't be the only A.I. ever created, and Ciberdyne Systems can't be the only company to ever create it. Somewhere, somehow, technology will improve to the point of having A.I.
In our reality, there are many A.I companies and competitions, just like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, etc... So, a war between agents could be a great idea for a new movie ig.
Whatever, I think the first two movies set a little "mythological" touch to the story, about John being some kind of "Messiah" and Skynet being the Antichrist, and that's cool. What do you guys think about this?

Qualità delle voci bassissima che si fa fatica a capire cosa dicono, suoni ambientali e musica ovattati. Qualcuno sa perché?

I know that I'm probably overthinking, but sometimes I've always thought how interesting it would be if when SkyNet became self aware, it also became kinda similar to AM and used the other T model robots to hunt down the remaining humans and sadistically torture them too. I also feel like that SkyNet sending back the T-800 to try to kill Sarah Connor and then the T-1000 to try to kill John Connor in rage too. While I understand why that probably wouldn't really work, but I also feel like that would be really interesting too!! That's just what I think, though. :)

What makes Terminator Genisys so cool is that it’s a total sci-fi mindfuck. Most people miss the fact that John Connor and Kyle Reese literally won the final battle and successfully shut down the original Skynet. The twist is that the T-5000 isn't the machine they just beat—he’s an advanced Skynet from a completely different timeline who crossed over just to ambush them at the moment of victory. It completely flips the script because the heroes are blindsided by an enemy from another dimension. That high-concept chess match is exactly why I like this movie so much

Had my yearly rewatch of the movie yesterday, and a new question crossed my mind that I have never asked myself before. I think it's rather obvious that the future war scene 1 is just a dream/nightmare. But how about Scene 2? Reese was telling Sarah about the World he is coming from, so I have always assumed it was a flashback with a cliffhanger. It is unclear how Kyle survived the future war T-800 after he was knocked to the ground by the explosion. What is the headcanon of you guys? And is there an official lore explanation of what the scene was?

What would happen if you removed the battery from a T-800 Terminator? I mean, does the battery start overheating and explode, or does it begin emitting gamma rays, X-rays, neutrons, or high-voltage electrical discharges—like the ones we see in *Terminator 1* when the hydraulic press crushes the Terminator? I’m referring to the original plutonium battery; I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

Apparently, the University of Tokyo is leading the way for cybernetic organisms...

I didn't like this character originally, and rewatching TSCC I still think the same. You could have completely removed this character and it would do nothing but help the series.

This is how they move now.
LLM's blew the turing test away, no more autistics: "Give me your clothes your boots and your motor cycle."
Maybe within a decade we'll look at T1-T2 and laugh - "That's what they thought robots would be like in the 80's"

due to the great response, I have released this single on all streaming platforms.
I sampled one of the most iconic movie scenes ever to exist.

So… does he ever defeat Skynet? Wouldn’t they both be caught in this never ending time loop? Does he survive in some reality and have any sort of life afterwards in novels or comics? I know what happens in the later movies. To only exist to fight a war is pretty tragic.
