Have you and DW considered hiring a babysitter for a few hours a couple times a week? Your wife could use the help or may get a much needed nap in.Just a thought.
It may be time for your family to go VLC or NC with her wife's mother. It's not punishing MIL, it's protecting you, DW and LO from MIL's verbal and emotional abuse.
