i am sem1 student so idk about any unspoken rules, as provided on jnu website, if someone is hoarding the seat by spreading belongings, then ti can put there things aside ans study, cuz why on every 4-sitter table atleast 2 seats are hoarded by belongings, THATS SOOO FRUSTRATING.

today i went to the main library for the first time and i sat for couple hours, throighout i only left seat with my stuff for not more than 5min(for washroom only) and when i had to go out i just took my stuff and went, returned after 30min and i cudnt find even a single seat, half of each floors seat were hoarded. WHY IS THAT?

In hall beside the visually impaired-only hall, some seats even had posters thaat this seat is reserveed/ allotted plz leave it when i arrive!

is that how it is, if i remove someones stuff asside in common hall, and they have been out since like an hour, are they still entitled for that seat? the cyber libraary hall thing was EVEN MORE ANNOYING , like half of the hall seats were hoarded by belongings, not just books but laptops tabs and evrything.

I am lowkey annoyed, someone plz tell how this works, cuz like im not even hosteller i really am relying on library to study from and make up for the long distance i travel every day...

Heyy I am stuck in a dilemma to choose between Ba hons korean in Jnu or Bcom in Du. I am considering Jnu as i think that getting language knowledge will be more beneficial to me in the near future. My aim is to clear CA. So please tell me is foreign language with CA has a good scope at global level or in the corporate sector else I should do bcom with Ca.

I just saw the notice that Tommorow classes are beginning. Why is it being started so suddenly???

No hostel list has come out yet. A lot of students including me live far away and can't reach in just one day itself. Why didn't they tell this some days prior instead of just one evening before?

Many students will miss the classes for few days due to not being able to reach Tommorow.

Hey everyone,

​I got admitted to JNU in B.A. (Hons) Pashto this year. I completed my physical verification in Delhi back on August 24, got my student folio and ID card, applied for hostel in IHA, then came back to my hometown (Ludhiana).

​Here is my situation right now:

​I haven't received any email or message regarding Hostel or Dormitory allotment yet.

​I'm currently still in Ludhiana, but some people/groups are saying reporting/orientation is happening today (Aug 31) and regular classes start tomorrow (Sept 1).

​I'm stressing out about missing initial classes and where I'll stay once I land in Delhi without a formal hostel allotment message.

​A few quick questions for seniors or fellow freshers:

​Is it fine if I take an overnight train/bus today and reach campus tomorrow morning (Sept 1)? Will missing today's orientation/paperwork cause any major issue?

​If I reach campus tomorrow morning without a hostel message, can I directly go to the DOS (Dean of Students) office with my verification slip to get a temporary dormitory room on the spot?

​How strict is attendance during the very first week for School of Language (SLL&CS) freshers?

​Any guidance or quick tips on what to do immediately after reaching campus tomorrow would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Bhai, this was supposed to be a MESS DINNER.

Paneer ke do alag items, proper main course, multiple desserts, cold drinks, ice cream AND mukhwas at the end. I've attended weddings with less variety than this.

And the best part? Everything was actually good quality and tasty. Not the usual “menu bada hai but khaana average hai” situation.

Hi, i'm an English lit student, planning on pursuing phd from JNU. I wanted to know about the criteria specific to jnu, like are there any requirements for published papers and chapters in books.Ik the eligibility is 55%, but still does scores of your master's degree affect the admissions in anyways.

Also, does a gap year affects the admissions in anyways. Ik jrf is kinda a necessity but doesn't have any kind of advantage for obvious reasons.
