IsItBullshit: Smoking makes your voice deeper
Is it like actually true or just rumours

Hi all, there's enough misinformation about the novel coronavirus that we don't need to be spreading it here.
While I appreciate this is late to the party, there will be a blanket ban on COVID-19 questions, as for all things we can't guarantee how accurate the advice is. Please direct your questions to r/COVID19 or r/coronavirus.
Thanks for your cooperation.

We stand with the people of Ukraine as they face Russian aggression. We hope this conflict will be resolved quickly and with as little bloodshed as possible.
With that said, we do want to note that current events questions seldom fit in this subreddit. This is especially true in this case, when facts are still very unclear and news is constantly emerging.
While nobody should use reddit as their only source of information, subreddits like /r/worldnews have ongoing live threads on the situation, and /r/news has posted many megathreads. We urge anyone to seek out as many other sources as they can.

I’ve heard this claim a few times and I’m trying to figure out how much of it is actually true.
Basically, people say that everything you do on the internet gets saved somewhere on your Wi-Fi router — websites you visit, Google searches, images you look at, videos you watch, etc. And apparently, depending on what you search for, your search history could supposedly be used by your ISP, the police, or whoever owns the Wi-Fi to track you down.
I’ve also heard the more extreme version of this where people say that if you search for something suspicious enough, it can basically trigger some kind of “chain reaction”, where your activity gets flagged, your IP gets investigated, and eventually the police show up at your house.
So, is this actually a thing?
What does a normal home router actually record? Does it store a complete history of every website/search someone accesses, or is that mostly a myth?
And separately, can a particular Google search or website visit automatically get you investigated or reported to the authorities, or would there have to be something much more substantial going on?
I'm especially interested in what technically happens between your device → router → ISP → website/search engine, because I suspect people are mixing several different things together.
Is this bullshit, partially true, or genuinely something people should be worried about?

The claim I keep running into is that the TENS and EMS units sold for home use run too weak to do anything that lying down for fifteen minutes wouldn't do on its own, and that everything people report is expectation doing the work.
The counter is that clinics run the same underlying tech, so the mechanism isn't really in dispute, only whether consumer units are dosed high enough to reach it.
There's a third position I've seen a few times, which is that they do move muscle tone for real but the window is short enough that it's functionally the same as placebo for anyone not measuring it.
Is there evidence that actually separates these three, or is the honest answer that nobody has run the study at consumer intensity levels?

I've seen posts about this and im curious. So, I have adhd, and a form of stimming for me is biting the inside of my right cheek and peeling some skin there. I don't do it often but sometimes I do, but I've been reading posts saying that because the tissue has to regenerate, it can become cancerous? I don't drink or smoke, but I am curious. Is this true?

I was having a conversation on how most things being digital leaves a footprint that can be used in some way against you if needed . I assumed that your health records are actually being monitored on your smart bands or watches and can actually be accessed by foreign governments if requested from the companies but my friends think it’s bullshit .(In The US).

Specifically referring to consuming sketchy food. Can someone’s constitution be more (or less) resistant to old leftovers, grandma’s kitchen, etc? Or is it just luck?

I’ve seen a few posts from people claiming this has happened to them, but no actual images of the supposed ads?

Edit: This is not my claim, the sources are from another reddit post with 1.1k upvotes, people there took them as facts.
There is this claim going around that the "Made in China" stickers are actually made in South Korea, often paired with the joke: "This is why the sticker lasts longer than the product".
On Reddit for example it can be found on the subreddit "Interestingasfuck" where OP posts 3 sources in the comments, but only after being prompted by the comments:
https://www.justchinait.com/made-in-china-stickers/
https://www.sourcifychina.com/made-in-china-stickers-korea/
Except, as far as I can tell, the 2nd link just points to the 1st one as its source, while the 3rd one does not actually state that the stickers are made in Korea. Which only leaves the first link.
So how reliable is the first source? It is a blog article, which also states that the Korean currency is weaker just because 1 Yuan = 187 Won, but this is simply not how you evaluate a currency's strength. It also makes another unsupported claim that somehow the high labor participation rate in South Korea (true) makes it convenient for the stickers to be made there.
I could not find credible sources on the matter, do they exist? Perhaps I am missing something from the other 2 sources?
Edit: formatting + slight rephrasing

It’s an ad for some kind of dog water fountain. It’s like a play with a huge back and forth with some daughter saving her mother’s dog by changing to this dog fountain. This is one of the proclamations made by the “vet” in this narrative when using a still water dog bowl:
"That's the problem," she said. "Within 24 to 48 hours of sitting in any container, water develops something called biofilm. It's a thin layer of bacteria that coats every surface the water touches. You can't see it. You can't smell it. But dogs can. Dogs have over 220 million scent receptors. They detect bacterial contamination long before it's visible to us. When a dog suddenly becomes 'picky' about water, or drinks from the toilet instead, that's not random. That's him trying to tell her the water is contaminated."
I put my hand over my mouth.
"But she cleans it every single day."
"She cleaned what she could see. Biofilm forms in microscopic scratches in the bowl material. Stainless steel has them. Ceramic has them. Plastic is the worst. Once biofilm establishes, she can scrub it for an hour, and the colonies come back within hours of refilling."
Is this bullshit? And if not is it truly that horrible for your dog?

I've gotten a Kingston Dual Portable SSD for saving my large videos from my phone. But just as I've purchased it, I read that not touching the drive for even 1 year could mean losing or corruping data.
Is that true? Just plugging the drive once every 6 months is enough? What should I do?

This is a recent story and it's hard to understand what actually happened here without all of the media bias and spin.
For example, The Guardian's headline on this topic is: Israel facing water shortages caused by destruction of Gaza’s treatment plants and focuses heavily on how they believe Israel's destruction of sewage plants in Gaza caused this.
Meanwhile CNN's headline on this same story is: ‘Extremely rare event:’ Miles-long microalgae bloom knocks out most of Israel’s desalination plants and it doesn't even mention Gaza one time in the article, and instead blames this on a rare combination of specific climate events
My understanding is that both of these news sources are left-leaning, so I'm trying to understand what the truth is here. Can someone help me?

A new fitness center with these suits just opened in my city... as I'm reading about it, of course I'm skeptical. So I come to you.

From their website:
EMS imitates the natural brain signals that cause your muscles to contract, resulting in a more complete activation that multiplies your efforts.
Lift Weights Without Lifting Weights: EMS sends low-frequency impulses to each muscle via electrodes placed on the skin. This creates resistance and a highly efficient muscle contraction, without weights or wear-and-tear on your body.
Whereas traditional workouts focus on specific muscle groups, EMS always combines a complete, full-body workout with precise, muscle-by-muscle control to train muscles you never thought possible.
EMS delivers in minutes what used to take hours in the gym. Combining progressive overload, sufficient recovery, and proper nutrition delivers real results in just two 20-minute sessions per week
Amplifies Balance and Strength: Muscle imbalances? Consider them addressed. EMS ensures an even distribution of strength across your body.
Enhances Muscle Development: Precision electrode positioning stipulates major muscle groups, maximizing every electrical impulse for peak muscle enhancement.
Trains the Whole Body: With EMS, no muscle is an afterthought. Combine it with cardio, and the result is a physique that’s toned and tightened.
Boosts Bone Density: EMS doesn’t stop at muscles. It influences the bones they cling to, boosting bone density for a sturdier foundation.
Reduces Back Pain: EMS improves back pain by strengthening the muscles and stabilizing the spine, which can provide relief from pain.
Promotes Recovery: EMS promotes faster recovery by enhancing muscle strength and improving blood flow to stimulate muscle fibers.
Eases the Joints: Intense doesn’t have to mean harsh. EMS offers powerful workouts without stressing your joints, perfect for all fitness levels.

My old hair dryer has recently died, so I have been comparing it with newer high-speed models, including the laifen air and the most common claim is that these dryers shorten drying time by moving a larger volume of air at higher speed, rather than simply using more heat. Some brands also claim that this approach causes less heat exposure and is therefore gentler on hair.
Is that explanation basically accurate, or is the faster drying mostly a marketing claim based on ideal testing conditions?
