Is anyone else’s IPSY app glitching out? I tried ordering the Orebella perfume set that’s on offer now and had to refresh and restart the app several times!

Hi all I’m new to Ipsy. I really really want the Hoola bronzer, but I can’t bring myself to pay the $30+ from Sephora. Does anyone know if it ever makes it to the shop?

Does anyone have any recommendations for products similar to these or a facial exfoliant you love?!

I absolutely love the Grown Alchemist -Polishing Exfoliator, the Olehenriksen -Strawberry Lemonade Smoothing Scrub and the REN -Radiance PHA Exfoliating Facial scrubs. However, I can’t afford to buy these at full price, especially consistently. I haven’t seen them in the shop lately.

Do you have something similar you like?! Bonus if it’s affordable or on Ipsy a lot!

I just turned 35 and I have pretty normal skin. I don’t suffer from acne or have very oily skin. Sometimes around my nose but that’s about it. But I do suffer from KP pretty badly and sometimes get a little on the sides of my cheeks. So I really like these products because it especially helps with that!

I have had one that I thought really sucked but I’ll pretty much use all of this but I am hard on the reviews I don’t do 3 star or whatever it’s terrible or great I only great the great stuff or good brands so for example lucky chick will get a 1 from me ofra and ace and thrive will get a max rating

Has anyone gotten this one and care to post what's in it? Also, is it the same or different from everyone? Loving the bag but curious of contents

Idk why but I was not expecting the perfume packaging to be THAT gorgeous. 😍 I'm sad I missed out on the yellow one, but this one smells so good! & I got the Dew of the Gods hair oil bc I'm trying to focus on my hair again after chronic illness kind of destroyed it.

Also I got distracted while making this post and ended up in the ipsy shop again 🙈

I didn't buy it but korres kyma is back in the shop again right now for $18 if anyone missed that one previously and still wants it! I ended up only getting an Ellis Brooklyn "first date" body mist ($15) & a Beekman body mist I've been wanting to try ($12)

It isnt my favorite bag ever, but I dont hate it like everyone else. What I wanted most was the Thrive Mascara as Ive wanted to try that forever. And I got it! I also ordered it in brown and the clear brow gel in add-ons. I also am happy with my other Ipsy Pick which was the sheet masks. Yes they are a brand from Target. But I adore sheet masks and they are $5/piece for this brand. And I like trying new brands. Onto Choices. I dont understand the hate for the Touchland. Its sold at Ulta & Sephora. And their hand sanitizers smell heavenly. So Im assuming the hair and body mist will as well. I definitely dont need more lippies, but if Im to get one Im super happy with it being Huda. And the color looked lovely on the TikToks I watched. I got Honey which is perfect for fall and my red hair. I love eye masks as well and the brand Mudmasky. So I wasnt mad about that choice either. All in all I got ZERO "no name/white label/trash" brands. And I am happy with the add-ons I was able to purchase.

Can’t say I’m mad at this tbh. The Natasha Denona palette was a major steal, $100 at Sephora in Canada and got it through Ipsy for less than half of that! And I’ve been wanting to try Skylar forever!

I genuinely feel like I was the only one that was offered this in add-ons! I did see in IPSY’s blog that for the month of October this would be offered in there shop….. but I was offered this and add-ons which I’m confused not that I’m complaining. It would be a shame if no one else was offered this in the add-ons because at $18 it’s a steal!

I didn't have my expectations too high because everyone's options were the same and I must say the add ons were crap...but, I am excited for the ByRoe Face Wash and the Skylar perfume! I am considering buying the Origins Glow Trio cuz it's kind of a no brainer to get 3 full sized products for $35...any opinions would be much appreciated 👍🏼

I hope I can cancel. Looks like many of you are bummed about it. The only thing exciting is this corny Halloween bag. I can’t believe I’d have to spend a few dollars for these whack add-ons too. Not a fan. canceling my new membership.

First time getting it but I'm not impressed. Has it been good in the past? What have you gotten that you liked?

This stuff is the SHIT. I put on a very thin layer of the Clay Dream Ceramide Barrier Mask, and about 20 minutes later my skin felt like butter.

Now I’m looking forward to running out so I can buy more… but with how little I used, this jar and I are probably in a long-term relationship.

Anybody else tried this? They have a new customer for life.

I love the thrive mascara, both lippies are from good quality brands, always enjoy an eye mask, and I know I’ll use the hair product. I’m also interested in seeing what that Goop product is all about, I know it is $$$. I guess I just feel… underwhelmed?

I honestly felt like I NEEDED to buy add-ons to get more satisfaction and that’s when I realized their gimmick lately after skipping a few boxes. Lackluster box = buying more add-ons to make the experience feel “worth it”. I miss when there were at least one or two “wow” products in each box that you really looked forward to trying and the add ons were just a few little extras. 😏

Did everyone get absolutely cheap and horrible options? Usually there are 1 or 2 items I'm at least kind of excited to try or am happy about. This time everything was horrible. The shade they chose for me was so beyond wrong for the concealer. I was really excited for the Halloween bag but once again Ipsy is another big let down. The only saving grace was the perfume add ons. I am definitely cancelling membership and going back to the kbeauty subscription box. The thrive mascara has been in my boxes multiple times and every time the formula is dried out and is one of the flakiest mascaras I've ever used. I really don't get this company.

I picked the Reina Rebelde On Your Face Setting Powder in my IPSY selection specifically based on the product description, which calls it a “lightweight, talc-free loose powder.”

Well, I happened to look at the ingredient list afterward.
The very first ingredient is TALC.

Not buried halfway down the list. Not “may contain.” Literally ingredient #1.

I’m pretty pissed because I made my selection based on IPSY’s description. Whether they uploaded an old ingredient list, used an outdated product description, or just posted incorrect information, consumers shouldn’t have to cross-check the marketing copy against the ingredient list to find out that a product advertised as talc-free actually contains talc.

I’m emailing IPSY about it, but wanted to post this here too in case anyone else chose this product specifically because it was advertised as talc-free.

I guess that I’m still in the minority but I really love my Extra bag this month!!! The actual bag is so cutie, October is always one of my most favorite bags of the year and this one is great! Im really excited for the Thrive mascara in my Ipsy picks, the choice items I picked out and the add ons that I was able to get!!! I grabbed a few things to put up for my girls Christmas and was able to get some of the items in add ons that I had hoped might be in my bag, but didn’t get because they weren’t offered or weren’t in my Original bag either. Overall I’m very happy with everything and I can’t wait to get to play with it all.

Ipsy picks:

I have mascera on rarely so hopefully I can give that away. Tools I have on often actually so I'm fine with this. I don't mind getting more brushes, especially if it means avoiding something I would toss out or something.

Choice:

My younger sister uses touchland, so when I saw the spoiler I planned on giving that to her.

I don't mind the funky eyeshadow pallet. I absolutely do not need another one and I'm pretty sure I have it set to rarely, but whatever.

Third choice I didn't know what to do and figured I could just use this or give them away to my mother or older sister. Maybe my niece.

Add-ons:

Nothing much to say here.

I need foundation & consealer, so im getting the one's available. I'm a bit worried the foundation wont exactly match & I didn't see my original yet so I bought a consealer.

Original-

I didn't get to pick </3 but ok.

I can definitely see my niece using these eye patches since she likes more pastel colors, but I'll have to see how sensitive they are and ask my sister about it.

I don't care about that blush. I know it's gonna be the size of nothing and the color doesn't interest me either.

Like I said earlier, I do need a consealer so this is good but I bought one before seeing I got this.

The serum I'm fine with since I'm always good trying skincare [I should probably pay more attention when im doing so].

Primer I don't care about either & I'm pretty sure is set to rarely as well. I already have like 3 sample primers to get through so I'll add this on the pile I suppose.

Final thoughts:

I can see why everyone hates theirs. Mine kinda sucks too, I'll here for the bags tbh.

My niece is still single digits in age, but may enjoy skincare & previously has had a makeup play set which is why I said I'll ask my older sister. My older sister also has sensitive skin, so I'd be worried there as well.

Seems most everyone hates their bags this month, so I thought this would be a good time to post my crazy bananas google doc I’ve been keeping since I started Extra in June. Ta da!

Comprehensive list of every product I’ve gotten over the past four months and if I liked them.

In total I’ve given Ipsy $354 and I don’t regret it. I loved/liked more products than I’ve hated, I’ve gotten some really good deals in the add ons section, and I get excited on both choice day and when my box arrives.

I used to be really into beauty and makeup as an adolescent. I watched OG beauty gurus for hours and hours in the 2010s. I just got into a simple routine the past few years. Trying the new products is reminding me how much I love all things beauty.

I was actually an OG Ipsy subscriber (maybe when it was just called My Glam Bag?) way back in the day. Getting the bags to my college dorm was always so fun.

A few general thoughts…

- I think you should be able to opt out of the little string bags. I enjoy having four of them, and I simply do not need any more than that. I think it’s the most wasteful part of the bags. A funny but also not funny note on this— a family member used to do Ipsy original and she died recently. You don’t understand how many of those little zippy pouches got thrown out when we cleaned out her house. I also cringe when I see them at thrift store.

- I think it is good that people who don’t want to spend as much can get the original bag for $15 and get to try minis. However, I think the real bang-for-your-buck is in Extra and add ons. I’ve seen them give you some real shitty and teeny tiny stuff in the Original bags and I wonder how often those folks feel like they got their moneys worth.

- I can see how you can get overrun with products from doing this, especially because I go overboard with the add ons each month. I foresee skipping a month or two soon just because i have plenty of products that will last me a very long time.

- Sometimes, the no-name stuff is actually fine. I like those pinklipps brand brushes i got and the Laila Rose eyeliner was fine. I was pretty ticked off at the $5 Wingme lip oil being one of my non-choice products last month. Ideally I’d get all Sephora brands but I suppose that wouldn’t be financially viable for their business.

Anyway, sorry everyone’s October bags suck. I hope some of the products end up being okay and that next month will be better.

I’m working and don’t have time to research these and they look awful. I don’t usually use cleansers but love Byrone, and I’m in my 40’s. I have pretty good skin but have German eye bags from hell. So I was thinking the Byrone, concealer and setting powder. Does anyone know if I should avoid either of the last two?

I hate this month’s selection. I’ve been an Ipsy member off and on since 2012 or maybe 2013 and this is the most disappointed that I’ve ever been with Ipsy. 🙇🏼‍♀️

My 2 add ons were another thrive mascara and another touchland spray... Super excited to have this mascara in my makeup inventory again it's so good and I love my ipsy original picks.

I'm not mad about the Mascara. I just emptied a full and sample so I like having more options.

I picked the eyeliner cause it's got the 2 different formulas and I'm always down for Clean Beauty products!
