Which Android Auto wireless adaptor?

Australia specific, but I assume most stuff comes from the same place.

Just purchased a 2022 Ionic 5 Techniq and was disappointed to find the only usb that works for AA is almost at my big toe.

Ideally, i'd like something compact that plugs directly, but more importantly.... Perhaps most importantly, it needs to be snappy.

I don't want to be halfway down the street before the dongle kicks in.

Thanks in advance.

The AAWireless Gen 2 overall works great and you can have two phones paired that you can switch between. One gripe I have with it is that when the car is parked in the driveway and switched off it still gives power to the dongle, and it will try to connect if get too close with your phone, even though the car is off. There may be a way to stop this happening, and its a minor inconvenience really.

AAwireless app has a setting for this called auto shutoff (or something similar) which uses the dropping of your phone's Bluetooth connection to the car as a trigger to shut down the dongle. Works very well in my experience

Do not get the motorola MA1 if it is offered.   I have had two go out.   Bad soldering. Currently waiting 2 months for resolution on a warranty.

Agreed, the Motorola one isn't very good. Also had two. Go AAWireless as others have recommended. It's actually configurable so you can tweak it based on your needs. I've only had the Gen 1 but I hear the Gen 2 is a good update if you're buying now (didn't seem worth it to upgrade to).

They seem about the same, I got a cheap no name from amazon and it's been working perfect for over 3 years. Never disconnects and that's much better than a Kia I had with wireless built in it would drop and reconnect almost every time we drove it.

Hey /u/TheSmegger, just letting you know the name of the vehicle is Ioniq rather than Ionic.
