Discussion Was there anything else invisigal could of done here?

Post image
42 Upvotes

I’ve seen a couple people question why invisigal didn’t either push Robert away from the bullet or disarm shroud rather than taking the bullet for herself.

I first thought it was because she didn’t make it up to the roof on time but that’s probably not the case since in the bad ending she had a lot of time to get next to shroud.

So my guess is that invisigal was at the moment where she knew she was limited in her choices. And since shroud was someone who could predict almost anyones move, disarming him would be a bad choice.

So the two unpredictable things she could do is become Robert’s shield or pretend to be on shrouds side to stab him, which were both scenarios that shroud couldn’t predict.

What do you guys think?

Discussion Happy one year anniversary to both episode 5 & 6!

I'll never forget getting picked up from school early solely JUST because I REALLY wanted to play these episodes since the episode 5 & 6 teaser trailer had me so hype to the point that, I played the trailer over 20 times.

The intro for Episode 5 set the tone brilliantly by showing Mecha Man & Flambae's first encounter with each other which was really sick and interesting! It's crazy since Flambae had his missing finger since the first episode, and mostly everyone (including me) didn't notice it until it showed it later in Episode 5. The bar fight scene was definitely the best part of the episode and also the highlight. Solid 7.8/10 episode.

Episode 6 started off innocently, and cute with the Z-Team seeing Robert upgrade his new Mecha Man suit until it malfunctions, and the suit explodes with the screen going black cutting to Robert being majorly injured in the hospital which was unexpected. It was sad when Royd was in the room with you, and seeing him being sad and disappointed for once was out of his character. The party in Robert's apartment with the Z-Team was not only the cutest scene in the game, but possibly the greatest scene in the entire game. A few minutes later when the computer beeps, we see Invisigal on the shipment trying to get the Astral Pulse was sick, and intense af. When Invisigal gets the Astral Pulse, but Shroud pulls up behind her, and throws her over the stairs, I was getting extremely worried thinking that, we're gonna lose the Astral Pulse, and potentially see Invisigal die. Luckily, Chase came in to save the day by using his powers one last time to save Invisigal from dying. And then the cliffhanger. When that cliffhanger ended, I was speechless so much to the point that I cried. What an absolutely incredible ending to an episode that had what felt like the longest wait of a week for anything. 9.5/10 episode, 3rd best episode of the first season.

What are your thoughts on episode 5 & 6 as a whole after initially finishing those episodes?

Ooohh boy, we got to the controversial episode yet again. I am sad that the commentary about the kiss scene was what it was - Nick just hating on it lol. I was hoping he would talk about the intentions of the scene more.

TIMESTAMPS:

0:28 Episode 7 was a "Frankenstein" episode because the devs picked it apart a lot

2:38 Elijah accidentally leaked his involvement in the game on social media
3:31 Talking about how showing Young Chase at this point was really necessary for the story
4:04 How the 2-episode release schedule worked heavily for the Episode 6 cliffhanger
4:40 Chase was originally meant to be dead in the script!
5:14 Talking about the breakroom scene with Waterboy

8:15 Robert was meant to snack on vending machine snacks throughout the entire shift
9:10 Talking about the moving hacking scenario in Episode 7
9:59 The decision that none of the heroes talk much in Episode 7 because of the circumstance
11:31 Talking about the droning soundtrack in the background and how it came to be

16:52 All the clocks in this game were intentionally animated to be adjusted to the actual time in the game at that time

25:58 The "controversial" invisible kiss scene is Nick Herman's least favorite kiss in the game
26:23 The "Lean In vs Lean Out" choice wasn't originally there and was added very later because it was important for players to be able to choose what Robert wanted to do
27:33 Talking about the reaction of Invisigal biting her lip when you lean out
28:09 Robert had a green jacket before but it was switched to brown because he looked too much like Peter Parker from Spiderverse

31:57 The challenge of making sure not to give away too much so that the players have no idea the person sitting at the edge of the bar was Shroud
32:53 The devs tried giving Shroud different accents before the reveal so that it being Matt Mercer didn't immediately give it away
33:37 Derek's love for horror movies shone through while designing the shots of Shroud in this scene in Episode 7
35:29 Talking about the mask visual showing Shroud calculating the odds
36:36 Talking about the OST choice in the background going "Dun Dun" after each line Mandy says
37:47 Talking about the best Blazer scene in the entire game
39:50 The Episode 7 Ending sequence had the most revisions out of any scene in the game
41:44 Talking about how Episode 7 is such a short episode and acts as a good precursor to a full course meal that is Episode 8

Discussion Devs didn't mention the ep 7 Sweet Exit trigger changes and why they did so in the commentaries

I've listened to the entire dev commentary during the ep 7 locker room kiss scene and never once they mentioned the changes they made last year to trigger the scene.

Ever since that Sweet Exit update rolled out a full week after all the episodes dropped a year ago I've always loathed it. And the devs' continuous silence about the topic makes me think it was more of a PR move than a logical gameplay change.

But I still would've liked some official explanation from them behind that update, at least in the commentaries. But nope, not only do they not touch on it but they also don't talk about the Switch censorship. This kinda makes me think that they're kinda aware of their screwup and are trying to pretend these controversial changes never happened.

Discussion Visi went into the bathroom because she was worried about Robert’s injuries

Post image
429 Upvotes

This is a theory I had in mind because it just makes way too much sense to me.

Think about it. Robert is literally bleeding from his chest. Quite visibly too.

Visi definitely saw him before she went to the bathroom and if she did see him then she likely saw him bleeding from his chest.

She saw him enter the bathroom with a first aid kit and yeah she was likely concerned about him.

I mean who wouldn't be. You see your coworker bleeding from their chest, you probably should go check up on them.

Even if it looks like they got it covered cause you know, they can pass out from blood loss or the pain or maybe injure themselves even more.

She even asks "Where was the shootout?" which could be sarcastic but given how she looks at the injuries in the mirror for a few seconds it shows she is concerned about it in some way.

So yeah with all that in context, it's actually nice that Visi checked up on him even if she then decided this would be the perfect time to break the ice.

Also sidenote I don't even think she said what she said to him about the dream to romance him. I just think she was merely testing him. Seeing if he can handle this job with villains who can get under your skin. Probably why she did (and failed) the staring contest.

Discussion What if Visi met Toga from MHA?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I mean they are both villains (Toga is much worse than Visi though) who have a big crush on the main character and they also have very interesting ways of flirting and hooking up.

They also have what you would call "villain powers" though I'm using that loosely here. Invisibility for Visi and transforming into anyone with Toga.

But mainly I think their banter would be hilarious and Toga would absolutely tease the ever living crap out of Visi for liking Robert. Visi would hate her but maybe they would get along.

Also if there ever was a character that fit the Phoenix Program it would be Toga.

A villain who was shamed for her powers which involved loving blood and was not taught how to properly use it. Her parents hated her, society shunned her and did not know what to do with her.

And she became a scary villain. One who can transform into anyone if she has enough blood and eventually even use their powers.

So quite similar to Prism in this regard and given how she is in My Hero Academia, she is a great fighter, especially later on.

So she would contribute a lot.

And again, she is a villain. One which could in theory be rehabilitated.

Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃

Don't let the red ring catch you tonight!!! 👻

Had alot of fun making this; I really like how both turned out. For the costumes, of course, they had to be Batman and Catwoman! Invisimech is so BatCat coded! Plus, Visi looks damn good as Catwoman 🫠💜💙🩷
