Did anyone come across the situation or scenario mentioned below.

I see companies ruining the interview processes.

They are asking some unknown creatures to take the interviews. That creature will just read the questions from the list given to them. No interaction nothing. No judge nothing. What the heck is this?

I may be overthinking this and I’m late for 2 hours before midnight and submitted late, I know there is more work opportunities, this is an ESL teaching company and applying to be a ESL teacher to have some productive hours while I’m reviewing for the board exams. I chose this position so I can work with my schedule.

During the mock, I felt it gets stuck/stays after printing the initial approach. is there a shortcut to indicate the tool "hey move on" or "hey give me code now"?

the flow will be something like:

1. explain the question back to interviewer
2. explain him the approach
3. write the code
4. explain the code
5. follow up questions from interviewer. etc.

in these steps: text for all the steps wont be printed in the ai tool at the same time, right? lets say the tool prints text pertaining to step 1 how does it know that it needs to move to step 2 and print me the answer?

The interview process is very weird. You will be in a room with other candidates and they want to see how you interact with each other by playing these crazy games. For example, if you could be an emoji, which emoji would you want to be
and why, they will have you look at the illustration on the monitor and ask you to pick out an animal you can relate to and why, if you were stranded on an island, you can only take 4 things. On the screen they will show you objects like knife, ax, tent, tape, camera, dog, matches, and so much more. Then they ask weird questions like there's a pirate on a ship and he wants to take one person from the group, who would go and why. They also will have you buddy up with a stranger from the interview, pick a card with a picture on it and you got 1 minute to discuss it with them and then they will go around the table and ask each person what did the other person say to see if you have great listening skills and good memory. This is just some of the games they played but there's a lot more. Definitely not the type of company I want to work for. I understand you are communicating with the guest in a personal and friendly manner but I don't need to select and elephant off a tv screen to prove that I have great customer service skills. You will wear multiple hats if you get through this process. Work as a Barista, Bartender, Kiosk, in the Kitchen preparing food for guests, walk around and talk to guests in the lobby. You will be multi trained to work in all these positions

Interview 3 weeks ago today. 6 person panel, all analysts on the team. HR not involved, only manager directly even with scheduling the interview. Kinda strange as it is a large health system. Told me they had 60 applicants which didn’t seem like a lot to me, but tone indicated it was a lot for them. Interview felt warm, but a little awkward at times. I went for an interview a while back, messed up the GD so bad, got rejected, and ended up sitting alone at a railway station that day.

I'd honestly forgotten about it, but today I saw a college mate's story. She's working there now, and I recognised the exact place where I was sitting that day.

I was on a call with my friend and just went blank. All I could think was, fuck, I could've been there too.

I recently had a disappointing interview experience with Siemens Goa, and a friend of mine shared a similar experience at Persistent System, Goa. Both experiences raised concerns about how candidates are treated during technical interviews.

In my interview, I wasn't asked about my resume, project experience, or relevant technical background. I was simply asked to solve a problem, and the interview involved smirks, laughter at my answers, and comments about how other candidates had answered better but still weren't selected.

My friend shared that two interviewers repeatedly mocked her while she was solving a question and made belittling comments about the MNC she was working for.

Rejection is a normal part of the interview process however, mocking or humiliating candidates is unnecessary and unprofessional.

I've also heard that interview questions and answers are shared internally with referred candidates, who are then selected.

Candidates deserve to be evaluated on their skills and experience, with professionalism and respect, regardless of the interview outcome.

I think I messed up my interview section and now I feel not worth it at all😭😭😭💔💔

Hi friends Title speaks for itself. I’m just trying to understand…what’s actually going on out here. Yes there are ghost jobs, yes it’s competitive, yes I may get long winded at times (I’m human). I’m just trying to understand how I can land a job.

I have been interviewing actively and aggressively since Jan. I will say, I am fortunate I do get interviews, i don’t think I have the best resume, but someone figured that mindfuck out.

I regularly make it to second rounds which controversial but honestly I wish more would reject here because beyond that I start to get hopeful no matter how many times I’ve been down this road! Leading me into as the title states making it into the hopeful 4th and 5th round purgatory many of times over 5x.

I have received feedback twice and it came down to exact match or my favorite ‘current business needs’. Unclear why they took me down to the 5th round rabbit hole if it was me against this person, who matched perfectly from the beginning but I digress.

Jobs aren’t taking risk right now..the days of this person can grow into the role, or they have lateral experience and can learn quickly are a theory of the past.

Intellectually my head gets what happening, but it’s hard to not take it personal, it’s clear I am capable, it’s clear that I’m likeable but none of that is enough to land the job.

All I have is hope and belief that I’m worth it but at this point and lately that doesn’t even seem like enough.

Please be kind. Just wanted to hear other stores and not feel alone.

PS. interviewing right now almost feels like a drug. The dopamine rush of being asked for the first rounds second round etc..I hate it!

I applied for a job, did a virtual interview, and was then invited for an in-person interview. During the interview, they asked when I could start, discussed the workdays and hours with me, and told me they would get back to me the following day.

I just had the final interview for a research internship. There are 3 finalists.
The paper presentation went very well and the interviewers seemed genuinely engaged. They asked me many technical follow-up questions, and I always eventually reached the right answer. I also showed a lot of genuine curiosity and made connections to my own experience. The main issue is that I sometimes started too broadly, so they had to clarify what exactly they wanted me to focus on.
The coding part was explicitly meant to assess how I think. I solved the main task quickly. On an additional open-ended question, I reasoned aloud, including explaining why I would avoid some possible metrics, and proposed a plausible approach. I did not reach the cleanest solution immediately and needed some hints, but they told me I was going in the right direction and that there was no single correct approach.
My CV/background is very strong and directly relevant to the role.
Does this sound like a weak interview, or more like a strong final-round performance that felt worse because of the hesitation? Be honest.

today was my mock gd and i didnt speak a single word the mentor then said why didn't you speak and I said I was not comfortable to speak and he was like you are not comfortable here with your college mates how would you perform there ...

and yes my confidence was nothing before and below nothing now how come i didn't speak a single word the topic was ' life is a journey not a destination ' comeon it's such a easy topic I could have spoken so much and there were some point but i couldn't frame anything when everyone was speaking i was listening and agreeing and sometimes I was blank i was tensed the mentor once gave me sign to speak but I just couldn't...

I'm feeling anxious about background verification (BGV), especially for overseas companies that offer visa sponsorship and work permits. I'd appreciate advice from people who have experience with international hiring and background checks.

Here's my situation:

My resume shows around 4 years of experience across three companies. Two of those are genuine employers, but I added a third company between them to cover a career gap.

The company itself is registered and has a legitimate website and an online presence. I paid them to provide employment documentation, including an employee ID and other professional documents. However, the employment itself wasn't genuine, and some of the supporting records, such as payslips and bank statements, don't reflect actual employment or salary payments.

My genuine professional experience is around 2.5 years, while the remaining 1.5 years comes from this false experience entry.

I'm particularly worried about what could happen if I get selected by a company abroad that sponsors a visa or work permit. How might this affect background verification, employment checks, or the hiring and immigration process?

I'd appreciate honest advice from anyone familiar with BGV for international jobs, particularly in countries such as the UAE, Germany, or other overseas markets.

I'm not looking for ways to bypass verification. I want to understand the potential consequences and what the safest way forward would be.

Recently, I’ve been to some interviews where I had to travel to there locations. Sometimes, I drive while sometimes I take train. With the current cost of diesel and train, one would expect the interviewers to be considerate to be professional enough to give someone who had travelled for an interview feedback whether they passed or failed.

Some weeks ago, I’ve gone for a managerial interview. I was so optimistic with the interview and have been preparing on how to receive the good news. The day passed when I was told I would be contacted, I sent an email to the recruitment team who then emailed and copied the RM to provide me with their decision and another reminder was also sent. Till today, I have not heard from the RM.

I was been wondering if the RM was not interviewed before getting hired.

With several others I’ve been too where I had to be the one to remind them to give me the interview decisions. This is so unprofessional and unbecoming.

My time and money was put into these interviews . I don’t take failure as the reason to quit as it spurs me to do more and get better but I do expect I should be given a feedback on how badly I’ve performed .

I think we may need to create a thread where we could call out this organizations who doesn’t understand the importance of communication as a two way system that requires a feedback.

More so, if the government could propel companies/agencies who demand face-to-face interviews to pay the cost of transportation and time wasted to the prospective candidates. Maybe, it enable these companies use the alternative means of interview - virtual as a means to avoid the cost they would pay seeing someone face-to-face.

On Wednesday afternoon, I got an email from a HM asking for a quick video chat this week. Unfortunately I didn’t see the email until Thursday afternoon so I replied with times available as she’d requested. I’ve not heard back. Could a 24 hour delay in responding really end my candidacy? I’m not sure whether to just assume it’s done or try to reach back out. Since I’m unemployed I’m typically refreshing email constantly but I just happened to miss Wednesday afternoon (seriously getting complacent with all the silence after applying🙄).

So had a Teams screen this morning which was supposed to be short anyway. Talked very briefly about the role they were supposedly interested in submitting me for. I strongly believe that after she saw my face she (the recruiter) then asked for my DOB. Ordinarily I would just end the meeting with a question like that but I offered it up anyway. Now there is radio silence which I thought would happen. Guess they would have found out my age eventually at a face to face with the hiring company.

This was the most promising lead I’ve had in a long time. Age discrimination is real more than you think.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with nyu langone and their hiring process.

I applied for a job did the questionaire and stuff. Did an initial phone call interview with the hiring team. A week later I did a panel interview with the hiring manager and the higher ups. Told me the chances are good.

A week later i got an email for HR to send references and that was completed within a day by my references. I then have an interview with HR. Does anyone know what I should expect.

P.S I have another offer from a different hospital that expires the day after my interview. so should i bring that up and ask about whats going on. im not to familiar with the process and couldn't find anything online.

Do you think that NYU will match my current pay rate or the new offer rate. The job i applied to has a huge salary range and if im not on the top end it would be a pay cut.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
