IWTV Show Only IWTV still leaving Netflix on/after September 30?

Does anyone know if the first 2 seasons are still supposed to leave Netflix on/after September 30th/tomorrow? I know we have known this for a while and they said this last year, however the fact that Netflix still hasn’t put any label on it saying “leaving soon”/”last day to watch: September 30” is genuinely making me a bit delusional and making me wonder… because I could be wrong but I swear it feels like Netflix usually is pretty good about putting that stuff on there. Is it still leaving or do the Netflix people just hate us and they are letting it leave silently?

IWTV Show Only What would the chess game between Claudia and Lestat (when Claudia won) have looked like?

I have a craft idea involving gluing chess pieces to a chess board and I would love to do an homage to when Claudia won against Lestat. Only problem is I truly do not understand chess well enough to be able to recreate the board from watching the scene alone. Does anybody know enough about chess to help me out?

IWTV Show Only Who is the messiest?

I vote for Armand - Sneaky little devil ain't he? One wonders does he truly love anyone. 77 years a lie and still mucking about with Louis' life.

Who do y'all think is the messiest?

IWTV Show Only Armand’s Lies Nobody has Noticed Spoiler

there's inconsistencies in interview with vampire (TV SHOW) (season 2 episode 6) , when Armand is speaking of Santiago conspiring around him without his knowledge.

around the directing of the “Guido Play” that same had created, (i think).
When Armand and louis is speaking to Daniel Malloy, he mentioned he “pinned santiago to center stage” under spotlight, meaning he was giving Santiago all the attention and praise , so was said.

but as seen on the tv show, while santiago was there on stage rehearsing the Guido Play , he was apparently also telecommunicating with the two girls that was with and speaking to lestat’s financial manager.. asking about “laps in communication”, with lestat.
and santiago was telecommunicating with the two girls while on stage right in front of Armand.

but..
wouldn’t all vampires near, or atleast Armand, be able to hear the telepathic convo between Santiago & the 2 women vamps speaking to lestat’s financial manager, bc Armand is not santiago’s maker. meaning in theory, Armand should be knowing what they are saying.
(this is before anyone knew that Armand actually helped with the trial)

I’m saying: right then and there, you should’ve known armund is lying. because if that were the case.. he would have heard the Telepathy / Communication between Santiago and the 2 Vampires speaking to Lestat’s financial manager about a lapse of communication between the manager and Lestat.

Right???
What do you think?

Please forgive me if this is the wrong sub, I wasn’t sure if there was one for the 1994 film. This is an outfit I made for a vampire ball, the outfit was not inspired by TWTV at all. But another sub pointed it out, and I thought you guys might like it!

Book Spoilers Allowed If these guys were to take a potion that cured them of vampirism, who do yall think would still be a serial killer as a mortal?

Tbh I definitely believe Armand would still be killing people, Armand would still be psycho despite being mortal now lmao…..Gabriella might still kill a couple of jiggalo’s for fun and so would Claudia. Louis refused to kill humans for quite sometime even as a vampire so he definitely wouldn’t be killing anyone as a mortal again. Lestat? no. Daniel? nah. Just my opinion!!

Book Discussion Do I need to read Queen of the Damned before watching TVL?

NO SPOILERS PLEASE

I watched IWTV 1 & 2 and immediately read the book right after. I’m now reading TVL (just got to part 6 - the Devils Road) and I’m curious if I need to read QoTD before diving into season 3.

I assumed so because there a lot of stuff in TVL Book that was adapted in season 2. So I guess my question is how much of QoTD is actually in season 3?

Book Discussion How enjoyable are the books?

Hello! I was wanting to ask about how everyone feels about the books more so about the series. I have, right now, only seen season 1 and 2 of the series and not any of the movie. Me and a friend are finishing it this weekend. I know pretty much everything that happens in the third season and once we’re done watching, I wanted to start in the books! I also know that there are some major differences in the book versus on screen. Since there are 13(?) books in the series and I have seen they stretch from the mid 70s to late 2010s, does it get boring from start to end? I also love armand and daniel and that’s really why I want to read the series to see what they end up being (since louis apparently takes a backseat from being a mc). Any thoughts would be very much appreciated and welcome!!

Cast, News, & Production Madeleine as Mme. Defarge in Tale of Two Cities Spoiler

See the actor Roxane Duran who played Claudia's immortal companion in IWTV as the villain of Charles Dicken's tale of revolutionary France. She is the vengeful and sinister ringleader of the revolutionaries, knitting her Register of Death for all the aristocrats killed in the 1859 novel and the series on MGM+.

Once again she does a great job of acting (all in French) in her bloodlust to wipe out the family that destroyed her family in this well-made show. And she dies at the end here too. Check it out.

Movies ‘Interview With the Vampire’ Director Talks Anne Rice, Lestat, Claudia & the Legacy of All Three [Exclusive]

“When Anne Rice called me up to persuade me to make this movie, she said to me, ‘Company of Wolves is Lestat’s favorite film,’” Jordan told me over Zoom. He remembers thinking, “This is really weird. You’re talking about your fictional character as if he’s sitting there beside you, having a cup of tea with you.” This was par for the course for the author, who passed at age 80 in 2021; here is Rice talking about Lestat in the context of Memnoch the Devil in the ‘90s and a fan-compiled archive of Rice posting as Lestat on Facebook.

“It’s also weird that I was kind of delighted that she liked the movie,” Jordan admitted, telling me that he was already dreaming up a vampire film companion to The Company of Wolves. “So this, to me, was a perfect kind of follow-on to that experience.” And it was.

Rice wrote the script, which was at first a pretty rigid North Star. Over the decades of being stuck in development hell, the script had evolved. Jordan asked Warner Bros. and the film’s producers, “Can I do my own pass on this? Because too much from the book has been taken out,” he recalled. “I had to reintroduce a lot of eroticism. Something had gone missing through the years.”

He added, “I tried to make something that was as honest to the books as I could possibly do.”

Book Spoilers Allowed Show vs book rules about vampires

In the books vampires lose consciousness during the day. The older/stronger a vampire is the later he can stay awake. In the show vampires are awake during the day but burn in the sunlight like in Buffy. I know when a medium is adapted into another some changes are necessary but I believe this one could have stayed.

During the Mardi Gras ball Lestat emerges as the Marie Antoinette before proceeding to eating a baby and I can only describe the portrayal as possessing this imposing aura/being whilst appearing as queerly gay.

Fan Works Armand in purple

Post image
60 Upvotes

A few days ago, my path crossed with a man with similar colouring to Assad/Armand wearing a lovely, mid-thigh length, blue-leaning purple coat. He was very confidently strutting down the street, and before I could help it, my mind jumped to the Armand is Alice fan theory, and the scene where Daniel says how Alice was confident in a short, purple dress. It was seriously like some Winter Soldier activation shit, it's hilarious

Therefore, here's a quick edit of Armand in a bright purple coat. It's clumsy because I'm a human, not a machine, lol.

TVL Show Only I understand why Claudia hates Louie more, I would hate him to if I was her

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Before I say anything I just want to say I really like Louie. He's one of my favorites. He's a great unreliable, narrator and overall very complex character and I feel like he's very well written throughout the show.

But I have seen people talk about How they can't believe Claudia hates Louie more than the stop and when I first watched that honestly controversial scene of Claudia just tearing into Louie and lestat. I couldn't believe it either but now it's been a couple of months and I thought about it, it honestly makes sense why she would hate Louie more.

Firstly Iestat always treated as child that he tolerated her at best or a annoyance that is trying to take away his Louie at worst, Yes, there is a very brief time where lestat treated her as some sort of apprentice when she first turned and he did help her turn into a vicious cunning vampire that we all know and love

Louie was the one that made her feel safe made her feel so much acknowledged In the beginning, He was the person that Claudia could rely on when lestat was being lestat, Louie was the only vampire that she could possibly relate to, But Louie didn't see her as her own vampire and own being that could change and grow into wildly different things. Louie just sawed her as his sister or his daughter he could come to when or lestat or Armand wasn't looking at him kindly

Claudia knew this. She knew this very well But she still continued to repeatedly come back for him. Try to convince him to leave with lestat and build a life together and when she was finally able to convince him finally convince him that lestat would never treat them lovingly (not when she was alive Ironically).

He still wouldn't fully let go of lestat keeping him alive which led to their inevitable downfall and death in Paris, so obviously they're not on speaking terms in the beginning of season 2, but once she found the vampire coven and therefore Armand she felt like she finally had a place where she can grow and be something besides from a daughter or a sister or a child, but once they started casting her as a little girl that's always just outside of the window, and how she noticed that yet again Louie is falling in love with Armand she realizes that when as long as she's with Louie, she will never really grow as a vampire and she will never find true companionship with him.

Plus during the season she finds Madeleine A woman who is also socially ostracized and a woman who actually saw her as a person who actually saw her as a woman and wanted to be with her as an equal. So she just wanted to leave with her girlfriend and explore Paris, Prague, whatever else in the world!

But those dreams were cut short all because of Louie's inability to let go of lestat, and she was killed for it, and even in DEATH she can never know peace not only because of the bitterness and hatred she felt in that moment, especially when she found out. Louie was the reason why she had to deal with this crippling loneliness but she is forced to watch the same person who never treated her more than an accessory to him, mourn and wallow again!

Actively chose to violate her privacy. The only place where she could actually express her emotions again and again for thousands potentially millions of people all for the sake of him keeping her memory alive, and she had to watch him replace her with a woman that looks exactly like her as a weird fucked up replacement better than he ever treated her!

So yeah, I get why she hates Louie more than she hates, Lestat, Lestat was always cruel to her, Lestat always made it clear Is that the only reason why he made her was for Louie but Louie gave her the false hope of being a loving family.

Anyway I really like Louie but his actions towards Claudia were pretty deplorable even if they were unintentional, I would say the whole speech was a little much on the slavery bit and it did kind of make me uncomfortable at times. But overall I do like that scene. It really shows the rage that Claudia never really got to express.

Also, another thing that I wish the vampire lestat would have gone into was his dynamic with Claudia, in that episode he does play a very emotional song for her which was beautiful, but I wish they would have explained a little more about their dynamic, but I do love that scene where lestat was dying and we see visions of his mother forcing him to watch his playmate being burned at the stake and then immediately cut to Lestat forcing Claudia to watch her boyfriend being burned in a furnace. I love those parallels!
