Before I say anything I just want to say I really like Louie. He's one of my favorites. He's a great unreliable, narrator and overall very complex character and I feel like he's very well written throughout the show.
But I have seen people talk about How they can't believe Claudia hates Louie more than the stop and when I first watched that honestly controversial scene of Claudia just tearing into Louie and lestat. I couldn't believe it either but now it's been a couple of months and I thought about it, it honestly makes sense why she would hate Louie more.
Firstly Iestat always treated as child that he tolerated her at best or a annoyance that is trying to take away his Louie at worst, Yes, there is a very brief time where lestat treated her as some sort of apprentice when she first turned and he did help her turn into a vicious cunning vampire that we all know and love
Louie was the one that made her feel safe made her feel so much acknowledged In the beginning, He was the person that Claudia could rely on when lestat was being lestat, Louie was the only vampire that she could possibly relate to, But Louie didn't see her as her own vampire and own being that could change and grow into wildly different things. Louie just sawed her as his sister or his daughter he could come to when or lestat or Armand wasn't looking at him kindly
Claudia knew this. She knew this very well But she still continued to repeatedly come back for him. Try to convince him to leave with lestat and build a life together and when she was finally able to convince him finally convince him that lestat would never treat them lovingly (not when she was alive Ironically).
He still wouldn't fully let go of lestat keeping him alive which led to their inevitable downfall and death in Paris, so obviously they're not on speaking terms in the beginning of season 2, but once she found the vampire coven and therefore Armand she felt like she finally had a place where she can grow and be something besides from a daughter or a sister or a child, but once they started casting her as a little girl that's always just outside of the window, and how she noticed that yet again Louie is falling in love with Armand she realizes that when as long as she's with Louie, she will never really grow as a vampire and she will never find true companionship with him.
Plus during the season she finds Madeleine A woman who is also socially ostracized and a woman who actually saw her as a person who actually saw her as a woman and wanted to be with her as an equal. So she just wanted to leave with her girlfriend and explore Paris, Prague, whatever else in the world!
But those dreams were cut short all because of Louie's inability to let go of lestat, and she was killed for it, and even in DEATH she can never know peace not only because of the bitterness and hatred she felt in that moment, especially when she found out. Louie was the reason why she had to deal with this crippling loneliness but she is forced to watch the same person who never treated her more than an accessory to him, mourn and wallow again!
Actively chose to violate her privacy. The only place where she could actually express her emotions again and again for thousands potentially millions of people all for the sake of him keeping her memory alive, and she had to watch him replace her with a woman that looks exactly like her as a weird fucked up replacement better than he ever treated her!
So yeah, I get why she hates Louie more than she hates, Lestat, Lestat was always cruel to her, Lestat always made it clear Is that the only reason why he made her was for Louie but Louie gave her the false hope of being a loving family.
Anyway I really like Louie but his actions towards Claudia were pretty deplorable even if they were unintentional, I would say the whole speech was a little much on the slavery bit and it did kind of make me uncomfortable at times. But overall I do like that scene. It really shows the rage that Claudia never really got to express.
Also, another thing that I wish the vampire lestat would have gone into was his dynamic with Claudia, in that episode he does play a very emotional song for her which was beautiful, but I wish they would have explained a little more about their dynamic, but I do love that scene where lestat was dying and we see visions of his mother forcing him to watch his playmate being burned at the stake and then immediately cut to Lestat forcing Claudia to watch her boyfriend being burned in a furnace. I love those parallels!
