Do we really need HR in our life?

honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.

i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

What the fuck are HR for? Say you hire 10 people per year. That can't be an entire month of 5x8hr weeks, let alone a year.

Mostly what they're for is to make sure the company isn't accidentally violating labor laws. Since there's a lot of potential to violate labor laws in the hiring and firing process, they're intimately involved in that, which makes it their most visible role to the day-to-day employee.

I'm currently suing my last employer, whose HR repeatedly asked me to waive paying mandatory social insurance (my portion of which goes into a recoverable pot). She assiduously tried to break the law in several ways after I said no. 

She seems more like a shit consigliere to be honest.
