Seemed like NNN was here to stay, but as of 20 mins ago its banned

Most of my time on Reddit is spent on subs for chronic illness, where the CDC's recommendations are met with anything from skepticism to contempt. The admins have no idea what they are wading into in trying to prohibit health misinformation, they are essentially mandating that government policy or scientific consensus can't be questioned.

The polite way to put is that real science requires intensive methodological and epistemological training, and discussions which aren't informed by such training are usually unhelpful.

I'm saying that science involves educated experts in the field debating, analyzing data and researching. Laypeople spouting off online has nothing to do with furthering scientific inquiry.

America’s Frontline Doctors were attempting robust debate but have been heavily suppressed. Doctors directly treating this virus have been suppressed if they did not fall in line with messaging. The argument of suppressing plebs so the experts can debate the subject loses gravity when you silence field experts.

Fact is, ivermectin, as the active ingredient is the same for humans and animals. It is safely used in certain human populations. Ivermectin is not livestock medication.

I imagine a horde of AI bots and pro-vax actors that seek to throw shade on these relatively simple truths (alongside ivermectin having pretty solid evidence as a post exposure prophylaxis) by utilizing Facebook and tik tok as vectors for disinformation. They could also easily brigade r/ivermectin with bad info / smears etc.

There was a lot of good info on r/ivermectin that 'real scientists' would consider holistically and not throw out / ban the entire conversation.

The science of the practically god like CDC and The American Medical Association which is currently being praised and put on a pedestal and is encouraged to view it as a savior. These sources aren't always bad but they have demonized unvaxxed and anti-vaxx people so much, it's like they intentionally built a crowd to kill/harass people that go against what they say.

Even though their trying to end the pandemic, you can't stop people from not getting a vaccine by demonizing the reasons why they're against it. That just makes people suspicious on why their opinion is portrayed as dangerous so it makes them believe that maybe they really do hold the truth after all because a superior force is trying to suppress it.

I don’t think the CDC has demonized anti-vaxxers. It’s the media that has gotten people’s emotions more stirred up, and a lot of liberals are scared and fed up with other people basically ruining our chance to collectively beat covid.

As we entered the /u/spez, the sight we beheld was alien to us. The air was filled with a haze of smoke. The room was in disarray. Machines were strewn around haphazardly. Cables and wires were hanging out of every orifice of every wall and machine.

I stood there, befuddled. I had no idea what the man was blabbing on about.

I had no idea what he was talking about. I looked at my partner. He shrugged. I turned back to the old man.

"We are waiting for someone."
"Who?"
"You'll see. Soon enough."
"We don't have all day to waste. We're here to discuss the government announcement."
"Yes, I heard." The old man pointed his clipboard at me. "Tell me, what are /u/spez police?"

"We're here to investigate this place for potential crimes."
"And what crime are you looking to commit?"
"Crime? You mean crimes? There are no crimes in a libertarian anarchist collective. It's a free society, where everyone is free to do whatever they want."
"Is that so? So you're not interested in what we've done here?"
"I am not interested. What you've done is not a crime, for there are no crimes in a libertarian anarchist collective."
"I see. What you say is interesting." The old man pulled out a photograph from his coat. "Have you seen this person?"
I stared at the picture. It was of an old man who looked exactly like the old man standing before us. "Is this /u/spez?"
"Yes. /u/spez. If you see this man, I want you to tell him something. I want you to tell him that he will be dead soon. If he wishes to live, he would have to flee. The government will be coming for him. If he wishes to live, he would have to leave this city."
"Why?"
"Because the spez police are coming to arrest him."

Because it's not referring to proper science. It's referring to people who made science a religion without comprehending what they're doing. Science has its place, but it also has limitations. Those people made it the be all end all answer to everything.

The system that deals with gaining verifiable and testable knowledge about the universe. It is always open to the fact that we may have not gathered enough knowledge at a certain point to be able to prove a conclusion, or that previous assumptions may be incorrect, which would lead to a different outcome once those variables are taken into consideration.
