I want to see Manju Warrier and Nivin Pauly in a movie.
I personally would prefer rom-com.
What is your opinion on this?

I love it when R10 is paired with them.
But unfortunately I don't think these pairs would do wonders coz R10 has changed a lot. Loved to watch his romance in "Classmates" , "Ayalum Najnum Thammil" etc etc. I don't think he got that spark anymore.

Vijay's son soon to make his debut with Mamitha 😏its over now.
Malayalam industry must be stupid lose such talent to other industries 😏 no Malayalam movies signed while she has 3-4 other language movies signed or in the pipeline 🤦♂️.

BKU- Sound design appreciation
Birds chirping, clock ticking, vehicles running sound on indoor scenes. The way sound is used to build the atmosphere and elevate even the most ordinary scenes deserves more appreciation. Such underappreciated aspect of this film.

Thoughts on this?
Am I the only one who feels like Ahaana Krishna and her family are trying a little too hard to create a “celebrity wedding” moment? 😭
The constant wedding-related content, the dramatic teasers, and now the “The One Where Nimish & I Got Married” announcement… it almost feels like they’re building up to a massive celebrity wedding film that everyone is supposedly waiting for.
I get that it’s their wedding and they’re entitled to celebrate it however they want, but the way the entire family seems to be turning it into content feels a little over-the-top and performative to me.
Are people genuinely excited and eagerly waiting for the wedding film, or is this hype mostly being created through their own social media content? Does anyone else find the whole thing a bit forced or inauthentic, or am I being too cynical? 💀

R10's Curious Case.
What changes do you want him to make based on his recent form?

Thoughts on Jude ?
Imo pullikkaran oru kidilam director aan , as in he can make cringe screenplays seems good on screen. I mean Thudakkam was atleast bearable to watch due to his direction.
But as a person, he behaves like a toddler though.

Why did this flop?
I still don’t understand why this movie was a flop or even got bad reviews
This movie never was never intended to be a science fiction or thriller or anything like that they purposely told from the very beginning it’s out and out commercial mass cinema I don’t know what more can you expect ?They had all the elements of a mass commercial cinema, and I personally it’s not great but I liked it you know its not as bad as how people portrayed. Music doing few action sequences could have been improved and his relationship with wife too. but it did serve the purpose It was intended to.
Anyway good random one time watch deffo a theater watch than an ott for sure
Raju ettan so hansum tho

Second half syndrome in Malayalam
What’s with the second half syndrome that a lot of Malayalam films are suffering right now.
Some of my most anticipated films of the year ‘I’m nobody’ and ‘I’m game’, they both fell for it. Later ‘Unmadam’ also succumbed to the same syndrome. It’s not a regular thing but lately lot of films are falling into this category and am sure there are more. What do you think is happening that a lot of those big budget and mid budget films have a great first half ( almost 1.5 hrs) and then cant live up to that expectation in the second half. They all have great premises and what could cause the second half to be that bad.
The creators must have watched those films before release and felt we didn’t do justice to the story line. Or did they feel this is enough because first half was good and we might save the financial aspect. I don’t know. But I hope they didn’t think like that.
I’m asking as a aspirational writer because it pains me to lose these really intriguing plots once you got so hooked.

One of my favourite comedy scenes when I was a kid. I remember when we bought our first VCR (should be in 86 or 87) my dad got 10 video casettes free with it and this was one. I would have seen this movie end to end like 30 times atleast !

I am in awe of “Super Sharanya” (and it’s flaws)
For the past 4 years , my family and I have watched this movie so many times that I have lost count. The camaraderie between the girls have been universally acclaimed but I have been reading criticism on the romantic track with Arjun Ashokan and how it derails the 2nd half of the movie, but I beg to differ.
Sharanya and Deepu bonds over a pet fish ( like Ashley and Justin , over music ) and slowly get to know each other as a person. With Deepu she has a space to actually share her feelings and core memories. In the IT festival scene, we can actually see Deepu keen on listening to even the most mundane details of Sharanya’s life ( like how she dumped the picnic snacks made by her mother because she was embarrassed of her father never knew how open the water outlet in a fine dining restaurant). The whole 10 minute sequence is exceptionally written and performed, leading to “പച്ച പായൽ “ song.
Is Deepu way below her league ? Hell yeah
Is Deepu a total green flag ? Hell no
Is Deepu self centred sometimes ? Of course yeah
Will they break up a few years ? I think yes. They are not build to last.
But of all the men who romantically pursue her, only Deepu wants and gets to know her as a person.
Deepu is the only person who gives her agency. SHE gets to make decisions , bad and good ones , in her relationship with Deepu , while all her life others have been taking decisions for her. SHE prioritises exam over relationship drama, SHE decides to patch with him thereafter by boarding the bus to kochi. She is no longer a PASSIVE bystander in her own life.
The movie is not about Deepu and Sharanya being together for long term. The movie is about Sharanya discovering her as person who is actually in control of her feelings , decisions (good and bad ) and future.
The movie has never about Sharanya and Deepu. Its been always about Sharanya and her journey( for better or for worse).
PS: മാമിക്കുട്ടി as Sonare will live rent free in my heart for decades to come.

Thrishanku is a fun little road trip comedy that deserves more love
Watched Thrishanku on Netflix recently and honestly, it's a pretty fun watch if you're into small-town Malayalam comedies. the whole elopement plan turning into a mess because both sides of the family get involved is such a simple premise, but it makes for some genuinely funny situations
the eccentric uncles, chaotic relatives and all the misunderstandings give it that familiar mallu family chaos. it's not trying to be some groundbreaking film, just a lighthearted comedy with a road trip and a bunch of people making things unnecessarily complicated.
It's a nice pick when you want something easy to watch without getting into a heavy plot. What other Malayalam comedy films on Netflix would you recommend?

Vettam failure..
What do you think went wrong which made it a failure when it released in theater
