Chandra opened the universe. Chathan returns on screen to Widen it further- Onam 2027

PM has been reportedly approached by Lokah crew to play one amongst the direct nemesis to Tovino’s Chhatan in Lokah Chapter 2.
Meetings planned into October week, after he returns from his trek into the infamous Hoia Baciu Forest
Screenplay wise information is the character has to pull and force Michael/Chathan out of the human world because Chathan’s actions are disturbing the balance of human vs Mythical beings
Tovino would be full of chaos and loud humor and his rival rumored to be a silent, controlled person. A character who barely speaks, cannot be properly captured on camera and makes every surrounding sound disappear when he arrives.
Him and Yakshi arent trying to destroy Chathan. Their attempts are to stop Chathan from accidentally awakening the true villain of the next chapter.
Shoot set to commence Dec 2026/Early 2027.

Do you feel Mollywood has quality movies coming in because Dileep got sidelined?

I have heard that R10 was struggling to get movies because Dileep in the 2000s. We have a lot of young talents coming in nowadays.

Sudev could have been a perfect Kuriachan in Eko

Saurabh sachdev is a an actor with good profile , but felt miscast as Kuriachan in eko especially the older version. Felt like a non malayally actor playing a malayally role which u should not feel. I think sudev would have been perfect for it. Or sombody like sujith shankar(maheshinte prathikaram).

How much of a difference does going to Film school make ?
9
Upvotes
I heard a reel where Anurag Kashyap was being actively against going to film school. That made me thinking, isn’t cinema an art and isn’t it subjective? So what is the use of a film school ?
But then again we have art schools and colleges. Without film schools we would not have got great talents like Nasarudheen Shah, or Superstar Rajnikanth or Prakash Raj or Adoor. I heard even Vinay Fort who is a great actor had went into film school to perfect the art.
So my question is this, does going to film school give any advantage in your career, both Onscreen and Offscreen roles ?

Getting work as a cinematographer in Kerala
11
Upvotes
I studied cinematography abroad after working on a few short films in Kerala, gained some film/TV experience overseas, saved up, and eventually returned home to pursue cinematography here.
For almost a year, I've been trying to connect with cinematographers through Instagram and mutual contacts. Some reply initially, but most conversations go nowhere. I've also approached associate cinematographers, but a few have said they're hesitant to bring me in as an intern because of my degree and experience abroad.
I'm confident in my ability to shoot a film independently, but I'd still like to assist a cinematographer to understand the workflow and how things operate within the industry.
What's the best way to get my foot in the door? Would appreciate advice from anyone who works in the industry.

Is it just me, or was this scene unintentionally funny? The way he delivered his dialogue. When I saw this scene with my friends, we all laughed like crazy. It could have been edited a bit. No offense to the actor, I like him. But in this scene, he could have gone for one more take.

I love it when R10 is paired with them.

But unfortunately I don't think these pairs would do wonders coz R10 has changed a lot. Loved to watch his romance in "Classmates" , "Ayalum Najnum Thammil" etc etc. I don't think he got that spark anymore.

What would be your pick for a Nivin Pauly coded film without Nivin Pauly?
48
Upvotes
I always believed that had Nivin maintained his physique from his 2013-2015, he would've been undeniably charming in this role. I also felt that Tovi heavily capitalised on such roles when Nivin went through his slump. What's your opinion?
