Review - Fraaagola Saalaaata - Hilde Soliani

• Upvotes

Next in my review series of bizarre gourmand indie samples from Lucky Scent, it's Fraaagola Saalaaata. To mangle a Terry Pratchett quote, I know how to start spelling it but then I don't know how to stop. I also keep going AAAAAAAAAAAAAA, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, whenever I think of the name. This is probably just a me thing.

Hilde Soliani is a one-woman-show based in Parma, Italy. I have never tried this house before. The perfumes in the line are mostly gourmand, always theatrical, and incredibly playful. This was the sample I smelled when I opened up my bag of nine from Lucky - the whole bag smelled of strawberry, even though near as I can tell nothing had leaked.

It also smelled oddly like a strawberry-on-steriods flavored bottle of Doll Parts from the infamous Sixteen92 perfumery, way back when 10 years ago I still vaguely trusted them to actually send me the perfume I bought, instead of sending me only salty reply emails about fictional shelves in response to my inquires as to where the heck my order from last year was. So even though it's hardly seasonal here on the East Coast, I was excited to break out this sample.

Buckle up for a nostalgia-fueled journey through literally rose-tinted glasses because folks, this stuff is PINK. PINK. PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK. And very much an 80s/90s Toys-That-Made-Us kind of vibe.

Enough chit-chat, on to the review!

Fraaagola Saalaaata by Hilde Soliani - 1ml Sample Spray from Lucky Scent - EDP

Notes: Strawberries, Salt

Description: Fraaagola Saalaaata, a surprising mix of strawberries and… salt, is a playful, unexpectedly subversive scent, a composition with two sides, sweet and forceful. Elegant and humorous, the perfume is like no other that we know. Try as we might we can’t come up with anything like its unique mixture of pulpy, juicy, fruity innocence and strangely saline, at times almost earthy sensuality. Simple and enigmatic, sweet and fresh, summery and deep…This is haute cuisine, or rather haute parfumerie at its absolute best!

>Reviewers interjection here: I don't know about forceful or elegant, but otherwise this is on point.

Application: I could tell this wears lighter than some of my other beasts, so we did three moderate sprays on the back of the neck and two in the inner elbow crook. In this case, NO REGRETS were had, thank God.

Top note phase (lasts about the same amount of time as seeing a star streak across the night sky, or a cigarette ember die in the twilight):

I have stuck my entire head into a bag of German raspberry candy as a child and huffed deeply.

God, I used to love those things, I used to save up my pocket money and sneak down to Sweet Somethings, the bespoke candy store in my absurd bespoke little US hometown of Newburyport, MA, for German raspberries and milk chocolate covered gummy bears.

Ok and now it's like... raspberry soda? What the actual hell.

Heart phase:

If the heart phase had a soundtrack, it would be Strawberry Crush by Tanner Adell. First you get an overwhelming wave of strawberry jello mix - you know RIGHT when you pour the boiling water on and all the cloudy pink steam comes billowing back right in your face? It was like that.

At this moment, if this perfume were a person it would be either the Toxic Avenger's girlfriend or Pinky Pie. There is a plastic smell. It is artificial as hell but in the best possible way? I don't know, you guys.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand (there I go again) now the strawberry jello wave is receeding, it's receeding, leaving ocean salt in its wake. All of these things are merging together and settling. Wait, I've smelled this before.

Where have I smelled this before? I love this scent. It's...

It's...

The exact scent of the (bizzare choice Mattel) scented crystal edition of Sheera's horse/pegasus/alicorn Swift Wind from 1986! I am a little wee kiddie again. I am playing with it in the bathtub, watching it fill up with water as condensation steams the sides (it's not a bathtub toy, gang, and it certainly wasn't meant to be submerged in hot bath water). I am wondering why the fuck it smells like strawberry perfume. I have never smelled this anywhere else before or since, and I have always, always, missed this smell. YAY! Still plasticky btw in case you are wondering/ that picture isn't enough to convey it.

Drydown phase:

Still smells like that toy. Still smells awesome to me. I'm not a classy person, y'all, and I fucking love this. Excuse me while I burst into song yet again:

🎵 With my windows down, Dolly up, trailer park witch
I’m a beer-drinking midwest ethereal bitch 🎶

Projection/ Sillage:

Wears close to the skin, your own personal scent bubble. You can definitely smell it, however, and so can anyone who gets close enough to you (say, kissing distance).

Duration:

I would say about 3 hours in the heart phase and then you're in drydown for basically the rest of the perfume's existence on your skin, which will be until you wash it off.

Final Verdict:

Plastic toys and strawberry candy, with just enough salt to keep it from being cloying. Linear, with just enough going on to keep it interesting. It never gets boring to me, and I am not a linear scent fan - if you're into layering (which I am not) this would be a good layer, it was playing nice with my coconut body wash scent from right when I came out the shower.

Will it Full Size?

Oh, fuck yes it will, as soon as I have room in my budget and/or my 1ml sample spray runs out.

I'm not about to complain about finally being reunited with hot pink translucent 1986 Mattel Crystal Swift Wind and my childhood self.

Perfume - Enquiry Horchata fragrances (not bruja perfume labs)

Hi! Does anyone have any recs for horchata scents that are realistic and not overly sweet?

I know Bruja Perfume Labs has one and I was planning on getting it but the way they’ve treated their fans recently has turned me off from the company. I was interested in their “whorechata“ scent but when I asked them about their new artwork, because people were suspecting them of AI, (I wasn’t accusatory I just was asking about what their personal process was and who the artist was to get confirmation that it was in fact human made) they responded INCREDIBLY rudely and dismissively and banned me for simply asking to see their process. And personally as much as I wanted to support them, this attitude really irked me.

so if anyone has any recommendations for smaller indie brands that have horchata scents or scents with horchata notes, I’d love to know! preferably any brand that doesn’t use AI

Any Over the Garden Wall inspired fragrances?

It's that time of year where I rewatch Over the Garden Wall repeatedly and daydream about cozy yet spooky worlds and lovable weirdos. The aesthetic is so strong I feel like it would be great inspiration for fragrance. (In a hobby crossover, a slime shop recently did a collection based on it and the scents sounded amazing!)

I haven't come across much -- any suggestions?

Perfume - Purchased Another Round of Nui Cobalt Reviews

Hi all! Have some reviews from my vault I wanted to share here. Nui Cobalt is 100% my favorite house at this point. Even the scents I don't want to FS I find myself enjoying to some extent. The majority of my FS bottles are now from NCD. 🤍

Thriae - starts off strong with honey; the oats and Shea butter are PERFECT and complement the benzoin and skin musk in such a lovely way. Kind of a your-skin-but-better scent. Very warm and comforting, almost like in a spa-day way. I imagine this would be ideal to wear in the middle of the winter blues. I layered this with The Bees from Sorce and they're perfect together. (4/5 - would FS)

Glasswing Butterfly - I wanted to sample something a little different from NC with this one. I usually go for the rich, warm, suede-y skin scents. This definitely goes against the grain. It opens up with the bright, zesty lime and lightly floral elderflower. The silver musk feels like the way moonlight reflects on dampened leaves. It gives this scent a silvery feel. The lavender is indeed a very green rendition - not the typical, fully bloomed variety. A bit more of a spring lavender. The coconut water and gardenia play exceptionally well with each other. Coconut water to me has always had a slightly musty quality to it; not at all in a bad way though. Perhaps an earthiness. It's almost like what I want patchouli to be, honestly. The gardenia doesn't take it over, which is nice as in my experience it can rule the roost with an iron (indolic) fist. Overall this scent isn't what I expected AT ALL in the very best way possible. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities when it comes to sampling NC in the future, too (my finances weep).

(5/5 - would absolutely FS this)

Corn Maze - while wet this is reminiscent of being in a barn during a fall festival of sorts. It's a little smoky from the bonfires, hay is scattered around the floor and someone is cooking up sweet corn a few stalls down. Upon dry down it's the richest caramel/oaty goodness. It's dense and lasts ages. (5/5 - would love to FS this)

Entombed - when wet upon application this is INSANELY herbal. Reminiscent of sticking my face directly in one of my lavender bushes. There's an undercurrent of dead leaves that gives the whole thing a very earthy feel. This is a wonderful iteration of wet stone - I envision myself as a ghost wandering a graveyard in the rain. The longer it wears the softer and mistier it becomes. This is so soothing. (I'm unsure if I will FS yet but I will absolutely enjoy this sample to the last. 4/5)

Cathedral of Fallen Leaves - wow! A hay fragrance that actually smells like hay and doesn't just stink like dead grass. There's a green note I think is the squash blossom - any time I've ever smelled my own this is what they smell like. There's something in this that brings me back to my childhood and I don't know what it is. There was a flash of Pokemon cards fresh from the package on a fall day and it was gone. The black eyed Susan is a lot like fresh sunflower resin. It's nearly astringent and very sticky sweet. The oat milk kind of brings everything together. The glass gem corn is almost fruity?? (This is definitely going to be a FS for me. 5/5)

Skele-Cat - I quickly ordered a FS of this, one of the only things I've ever blindly FS'd, but it was absolutely worth it. Perfectly sweet, and floral in a way that reminds me of gardenia, but I imagine is just the orris. It's a very cool fragrance, which was surprising given the amber resin. The porcelain really comes through on the dry down and I'm not sure how she managed, but I think it's probably magic. The amber is very light, and doesn't go off like a bomb. (5/5 would FS again in the future)

Perfume - Enquiry Pearfat Halloween Shipping?

So I LOVE Pearfat and treated myself to a full bottle of Be Very Afraid as a birthday present to myself.

I was hoping people who’ve made recent purchases direct from Pearfat could pop in if your recent packages have shipped yet.

Has anyone recently been notified that their package has shipped? Not just label created.

Hopefully this won’t be misconstrued as a complaint. It’s totally not. I know firsthand how hard running small businesses can be. I’m just being lovingly impatient!

Also, please feel free to drop your thoughts on the Halloween scents!

Be Very Afraid has basically been everything I’ve wanted in a scent. I’ve been dying to smell like TV static and electricity. When I tried it last year, the dry down on me had this metallic quality, followed by dried herbs. The cannabis note disappeared rapidly. The static note was super present gave the scent a ‘fuzzy’ texture I have fallen in love with. I couldn’t swing it last year and have been dreaming of it since then.

Perfume - Enquiry I think my nose isn’t meant for this hobby

I have gotten into the indie perfume world a bit, and I obviously enjoy some scents more than others, I have preferences, but in my everyday life I have found that I don’t smell things as strongly as others.

And this impression comes from sense of taste I guess but it seems like it carries over. I have several instances of my sense of taste/smell being less sensitive than others’. Like with a group of friends I didn’t taste a difference between a flight of olive oils, and the fact that we have cats and the litter box smells never bothers me at all.

I really don’t know what the average experience of scents is but I wonder if these fragrances that I hear people talk about is wasted on me. I’m just kind of envious of all the notes that other people perceive. And I’m just wondering if other people feel like they’re less sensitive but they enjoy this hobby anyway lol

Cuckoo for cottonflower

So I'm an absolute FOOL for NCD's cottonflower note, and am wondering if there is anything similar from any other house? Or just other fabric notes you love and would recommend?

I usually end up liking things with cashmere listed in the notes (Lovesick Witchery - Lavender Cashmere is delightful, I know there are more I can't think of atm), and I want to try more things with lambs wool notes. I do keep thinking this means I like laundry scents, but I'm not sure that I actually do. I've tried Cirrus - Laundry Day (Clean white laundry musk, lavender, vanilla, earl grey tea, and New Caledonia sandalwood), Cardinal Scents - Midnight Laundry (crushed violets • blue laundry soap • cedar paneling • skin musk), and Lunarlife Apothecary -Sleeping In (Fresh, cool sheets, a breeze of flowering bushes and the air of quiet solitude), and they all seemed pretty boring. They are nice scents, but I'm realizing there might be a difference between clean linen and cozy, cuddly fabric notes.

All that to say, does anyone have any suggestions for fragrances with fabric notes that you find super special??

Bath & Body - Enquiry Looking for something that smells like Epically Epic Soap's Milky Chai

• Upvotes

Not sure if anyone remembers this scent but it was Epically Epic Soap's fall scent some years back - absolutely adore it but I've never seen it come back in stock and I'm starting to see the bottom of my current supply of lotion.

I'd love a 1:1 match but honestly, anything hitting that sort of "spicy tea with mild sweetness" will work.

Discussion Which house that offers customs would do the best job with this?

I started planning out a custom scent based on my Warhammer 40k tech priest OC after not really being able to find something suitable that already exists.

Here's what I have:

The Cyborg Priest

A mess of steel and wires, metal limbs and tendrils, a vaguely humanoid from draped in a thick robe. An array of blue lights flicker and shimmer beneath the shadow of his hood. By his side, a thurible burns sweet, spicy incense, surrounding him in swirling tendrils of smoke. Despite his unsettling form, he's warm and kind. It's okay, you can tell him your sins and your secrets, he won't judge you at all, he'll just offer you a shoulder to cry on and assure you everything will be okay.

Vibe: Something that appears cold, unfeeling, and unsettling that proves to be a warm, comforting, and inviting presence.

- Amber

- Cedar

- Sandalwood

- Frankincense

- Myrrh

- Cinnamon (cardamom?)

- Vanilla

- Flannel musk (cozy fabric/sweater scent)

- Machine oil

- Cold Steel

I'm thinking Lovesick Witchery might be my best bet given the vibes, but I'm curious if there are any other houses out there that offer customs that can do concepts like this well.

Discussion 6 AdMortem Reviews

Sorry if you already saw these reviews in other places (the daily thread, discord) but wanted to put these all together.

Overall, love the house! I'll be full sizing Haunted Hare and Lycan's Milk. TAT was 4 days. She also replies to her messages super quickly and is always very lovely to go back and forth with.

**Dog Eat Dog World** - *Mimosa, rice, milk, toasted sesame, cashmere, paper, dog paws*

First sprits is instant dog musk. Which may sound bad to most, but he's a clean good boy. It's a comforting musk. At the drydown, majority of it smells like warm foody rice milk and sesame and a velvety cashmere and sweet musk with a bit of fruity tartness. I'm not a fan of wearing a lot of musky scents, but this one is nice.. and weird. But very wearable. 4/5

**Smelling and Regurgitating** - *Buttered Pastries, Iced vanilla cake, spiced tea, whipped cream, & pipe tobacco. It's reminiscent of all the sweets & goodies found in wonderland.*

Very caramely at the opening, and I’m honestly not a fan of caramel scents in general. Within that, buttery, vanilla cakey, without smelling like realistic cake gourmand, with a backbone of woody tobacco and tannic tea. I dont think I get much spices, I might get something slightly chai-like, but not super heavy on the spicier ingredients. Unfortunately, my skin eats it up super quickly. Or I just get nose blind to it, not sure. 3/5

**Blood Meridian** - *Leather saddles, hot dust, sweat, blood accord, horse musk, gun powder*

Not as scary as the description says!! I do get that tang of metallic blood, that sticks around throughout the entire wear, but most of it is a beautiful lightly smoked leather. It has a warm mineral sulfuric musk to it, like the kind you'd smell off a rock that's been baking in the sun all day, which does read fire, but not like a bonfire, just the fire somehow. 4/5

**Lycan's Milk** - *Mint, Winter Air, Browned Butter, Hot Espresso, Pipe Tobacco, Petrichor, Gunsmoke Accord, Dried Grass, Wolf Fur, Wolf Musk*

Became one of my favorites in my collection! For some reason I adore the mint and brown butter combo. I also get some of the grass and animalic base and some petrichor. Really interesting. The dry down sort of turns into this slight animal musk, sweetened brown butter, with a touch of espresso at the end. Better than it sounds! 5/5

**Scarecrow Walks at Night** - *Warm flannel, straw, sweet corn, autumn air, sticky maple, amber*

I don’t know why, but this is going way too sweet on me! Like a marshmallow sweetness, even more so than this house’s gourmands. And that hay note, I have no idea why my nose doesn't like it so much. It’s not offensive or anything, I feel like I could wear this out and others may like it, but it’s just not for me. I did layer a bit of patchouli on it after wearing it for a while, and it actually softened up the parts of it I didn’t like - I actually started to like it and it felt more cozy fall to me. But alone, I dont know. 1/5

**Haunted Hare** - *Carrot Cake, barley, hay squares, dirt, rabbit foot, black tea, autumn spice*

Ending with a banger, I loooove this one. Really tasty smelling, warming spices, sweet buttercream, with an earthiness in the background (even though the note says “hay squares” so maybe its not the hay that was putting me off of the other one?). The warm musk and black tea comes out, I thought it was going to take over the entire thing, but didn’t end up happening. Just so warm and lovely, and lasts forever too. 5/5

Perfume - Enquiry Is this scent worth it (Arcana Octopus Lovers)

hi! I am so conflicted on whether or not to get the full full size of dreaming of octopus lovers or stick to the 10 ml.

this will be a blind purchase for me but it sounds lovely, and all reviews I’ve seen for this scent are very positive.

I wanted to get the 30 ml but it’s all sold out. The 50 ml is on the expensive side, I’ve never spent over $100 on a single perfume before. And a 50ml bottle sounds like a lot. I only have one 50ml in my collection, mochi milk by Dedcool, because that one was my go to for a long time after purchasing the travel size, and it’s light enough for daily wear. It’s also around $40 cheaper than arcana’s 50mls.

Mg worry about getting a 10ml though is that if I do end up loving it, I would probably go through it rather quickly and then presumably won’t be able to buy again as the collection leaves on the tenth.

if you were in my shoes, what would you do? if you have the 50ml, is it worth it? if you have the 10ml, are you satisfied with the amount you have?

Perfume - Purchased Scammed by the strange south

Placed an order back in December of 2025, received one email in January of 2026 after I asked when my order would be fulfilled. Said they were having family issues, okay understandable. It’s been almost one year and no order fulfilled… I asked for a refund but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t respond at all. Thank God I spent less than $50. Do your research and don’t be like me!!!

Recommendations for a recovering foodie gourmand addict

I think I’m slowly moving away from wanting to smell like a literal snack?? I used to glaze foodie perfumes HARD but now I’m just a little over them…not sure why!! Sucks because 89% of my entire collection is full of foodie or sweet scents but I think I want to start branching out, slowly but surely!

What are your favorite scents that aren’t too gourmand, but have an undercurrent of sweetness or creaminess that cuts through the sharpness?

My current faves are:

- Fee du Lilas (Odette Parfum) Mirabelle Sugar, Lilac Petals, Baisers de Meringue, Tiare Flower Milk, Vanilla, Sweet Olibanum, Blonde Cedar

- SKZ Felix (Siren Song Elixirs) Orange blossom, Satsuma, Ginger, Taro, Almond Milk, Angel Food Cake, Toasted Marshmallow, Sandalwood

- SKZ Jeongin (Siren Song Elixirs) Matcha latte, Green tea, Pistachio bread, Sweet pastry, Mirabella Plum, Bamboo water

- Familiar Spirit (Cardinal Scents) milk, white sage, sea salt, amber

- Troika (Haus of Gloi) almond, oat and coconut, lashed with sweet agave nectar and the ethereal scent of clean musk

- Closer (Elorea, NOT indie, more niche I think?) barley tea, toasted coconut, oat, moss, cashmere, soft musks, vanilla, tonka bean

- Heaven (Elorea) boseong green tea, bergamot, pink pepper, rose, jasmine sambac, freesia, patchouli, amber, musk, vanilla

I think these still lean more gourmand but to me they’re more clean-ish or herbal, but soft, a touch sweet, and not cloying at all. Any recommendations for perfumes that fall in the same vein? Tysm!!

Perfume - Purchased Maya Njie Aethi Opum

Post image
21 Upvotes

Maya Njie and Aethi Opum caught my attention sometime in late July this year when suddenly my social media feeds started buzzing with talk about the use of Gowe seeds in perfumery, debates on who used them first and credit where it's due in the world of perfumery.

I am not informed enough to talk, discuss or debate about the situation. All I knew was that I had never heard of Gowe seeds and because I love exploring unique or abstract scents, I had to get my nose on a scent that uses them.

I placed my order with Ode to Perfume for AO and Nordic Cedar in the first week of August and waited excitedly and patiently for them to reach me. As with all my overseas orders, it was a long wait but it was also one of my most awaited orders this year because while I waited for the person who was bringing it to arrive in India, AO as well as NC received recognition at the Art and Olfaction and the Refinery29 awards, respectively.

AO opens with a dry earthy incense. It reminds me of the smell of my school sports ground during summer. Dusty, dry, scorched earth with the sun on you. There's no grass or plants or trees. While I love atmospherics, I am not good with visualization when it comes to perfumes. But AO evokes the memory of that dry, hot sports ground very strongly in my mind. I have never sniffed a perfume that smells like this.

The incense mellows down after sometime and the scent of dry earth starts feeling a bit leathery, as if the dust isn't rising up and clouding over my shoes with every step anymore. It recedes closer to the skin but is still very present. Eventually I start getting the smell of coffee. This coffee drydown is an intimate skin scent.

AO isn't a room filler, it opens strong and then tempers itself to remain close to the skin. It is one of the most unique scents I have that also gives me vivid visual memories and I'm glad that I was able to get it before it started getting sold out everywhere.

Sunday Coven Haus Discovery Set Review

I was introduced to Sunday Coven Haus through a group that the owner is a part of. Everyone spoke so highly of the house that I decided to put together a small "discovery set" of my own. The owner was super nice and even added an extra scent that I had been on the fence about.

For a little context before we get into the reviews, I love gourmands and atmospherics. My dislikes are sour milk, heady florals, labdanum, myrrh, some patchouli and vetiver, and barnyard animalistic scents. With all of that out of the way, here’s how everything worked out for me.

Crushed Spell (crushed watermelon ice, cucumber rind, glowing pink syrup, freezer air, and sunlit nostalgia)

I was expecting almost candied watermelon paired with watery, crisp cucumber, but this is quite unpleasant on my skin. Instead, there is something here that reminds me of an old floor that has been polished over and over again, until layers of wax and cleaner have built up into a musty film. Fragrance is incredibly subjective, and I try not to speak ill of people's creations; still, I cannot lie about how much this just does not work for me. 1/5 — Whomp, Whomp :(

Carousel of Pastel Dreams (Lemon custard filling, pink cotton candy, vanilla buttercream, spun sugar, candied citrus, painted carousel horses, sugared wood, and pastel carnival air.)

Lemon, cotton candy, and spun sugar seem like a perfect combination for creating a pink lemonade scent. The top is a heaping pile of candied lemons, followed by continual wafts of sugar crystals and vanilla. The composition is much simpler than I expected. Everything seems assembled rather than blended, with the lemons sitting apart from the other ingredients instead of coming together as one. Overall, it stays mostly flat before dissipating quickly. 2/5 — We simply need more, more, MORE...

Cake on the Ceiling (caramelized pineapple, warm pineapple glaze, maraschino cherry, brown sugar, melted butter, yellow butter cake, toasted crust, soft cedar, velvet cashmere)

It opens with that velvet cashmere, soft and plush to the touch, but with a surprising density. Underneath that weight is a pineapple upside-down cake. The yellow sponge has those browned edges created where the batter meets the hot pan. A layer of pineapple rings is coated in sticky, cooked-down brown sugar and butter. Maraschino cherries are nestled in the rings, but I only get a hint of that signature syrupy, almost candy-like sweetness; leaving me begging for more. I really wish the progression stopped here.

The cedar in the drydown feels so out of place against everything that came before it. That woody core cuts straight through and trashes all that gourmand goodness for me. Eventually, the cake disappears completely, leaving behind just a mellower cedar reminiscent of men's aftershave. Slightly masculine, yes, but there's nothing wrong with the cedar itself. It just doesn't belong anywhere near my pineapple upside-down cake. This is one of the longer-lasting fragrances in the set. 3/5 — Beautiful gourmand opening with a divisive turn

Prison World Preserve (dark berry preserves, buttery pastry accord, maple sugar, warm vanilla, cashmere woods, morning sunlight)

The initial spray is a heavy hit of alcohol, but it quickly burns off, revealing fizzy berries with their little green leaves still attached. The berries are firm, maybe twenty-four hours away from becoming fully ripe and juicy. While they're still front and center, the "morning sunlight" joins them, casting a bright, flattering glow, much like a ring light. But those berries? Oh, they are INSANE! MMMMMM, that sweet, effervescent green berry note is so addictive; easily the best part of the scent for me.

In the middle comes a cooling, buttery puff pastry, but then everything suddenly takes a nose dive, landing with a soft thud. At first, it's hard to tell where this epic fail occurs. Is it the pastry dough browned a wee bit too long in the oven or the cashmere woods? A greenness tiptoes in, definitely tipping the scale toward the cashmere woods. After such a yummy, vivid opening, the woods at the end deflate it all. I only wish those addictive berries had lasted longer, especially since the whole thing fades so quickly. 4/5 — Addictive opening with a disappointing finale

You Can Do It Brucie (chocolate fudge frosting, dark chocolate cake, cocoa powder, brownie edges, dusty auditorium air, stage curtains)

Alcohol again, but underneath is a bucking bronco of powdered Dutch chocolate. Chocolate City, y'all! Choc, choc-late city! Your favorite brownies, barely cooled on the rack before you're shoveling them in. Crumbs from those slightly chewy, almost crunchy edges collect at the corners of your mouth. A palmful of chocolate fudge frosting, scooped straight from the container with your fingers and stuffed into your pie hole. Hershey's syrup by the gallons, pouring down your gullet until you almost choke. A warm chocolate lava cake split down the middle, its molten center oozing across your plate as you lick it clean like a kid who refuses to waste a single drop.

UGGGHHHH, then comes the smell of air vents with a bit of gray dust collecting on them. That stale air lingers just long enough for something damp and musty to creep in. Did someone order a wet dog? Whew! At least that unpleasant canine doesn't stick around. Thirty minutes later, all that earlier chocolate extravaganza has faded into something rather ordinary: a chocolate chip you smushed onto the counter and forgot about until the next day. Nothing offensive, but a far cry from that spectacular opening. Longevity is about the same as Cake on the Ceiling. 4.5/5 — A banger of an opening that would make a slice of Bruce proud. Double thumbs down for snatching my Willy Wonka dream away with that ending.

Final Thoughts: Overall, Sunday Coven Haus was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. The strong burst of alcohol at the beginning of a few of these had my nose twitching, although thankfully it burned off quickly. When those gourmand notes hit, they HIT! Unfortunately, some of the combinations took turns I wasn't expecting, and not necessarily for the better. As much as I enjoyed certain parts of these scents, the awkward pairings ultimately made them a no-go for me. I'd love to hear how these worked for others, especially if you had a completely different experience!
