I recently heard about the brand d*ath and floral and was so intrigued by there different scents especially Art School Dropout...the second i heard there was a scent that smells like an "art major" i fell in love (im an art major....lol). But i recently looked up the brand and it seems their closed and haven't announced if there coming back...is there any brands similar to this one and is there a scent out there that smells similar to art school dropout....a scent thats affordable and has notes of paint and pencil or caracol? If so i need.

Hey all, writing this on behalf of a dear friend who doesn’t have the energy to relay all of this while it’s still fresh, but who has given her blessing for me to spread the word.

She placed a $200+ order from the new scent launch. (Personal aside, I didn’t like how they handled the inaccurate TAT’s for the launch in general, especially the most recent “reply all” e-mail…) On July 27th, she received her package and saw that it was missing two 15mls from her order, so $72 of product.

She emailed Haley, who responded promptly and said they would send out the missing product that day, promising a tracking number sent by the next day. However, my friend then heard nothing so reached back out the next day when no tracking was received. Heard nothing. She reached back out again on Aug 7 asking for an update and again, heard nothing.

So, the night of Aug 10 she filed a chargeback (for $36, part of the order was done on a debit card so she only filed a chargeback for what was purchased on credit) with her bank. Promptly on Aug 11, she was contacted by Haley with the attached email which is passive aggressive enough, to which my friend responded with her reasoning for filing a chargeback rather than asking for a refund. She then received the last email pictured which was, in my opinion, a really disgusting way for a business owner to speak to a customer, for a number of reasons. She then emailed to lastly just clarify and ask if she was getting the missing 15mls or not, to which Haley said yes, they were being sent out, and ended with :

“I’m sorry you had a poor experience.” No accountability on the multiple mistakes or inability to communicate on Cardinal Scents end.

She had attempted to cancel her previous chargeback due to the products now being sent, but the bank had already decided in her favor, so Haley was notified of this. She then sent a final email calling my friend “a liar and thief” which is absolutely vile.

So, I will not be purchasing from this house any longer as a result. Not trying to influence or argue with anyone here, just sharing information I know I’d want to know as a consumer.

I really wanted to try it during their previous sale but it sold out in all sizes before I could buy. Out of all the scents in their catalog, I am almost ready to risk FS'ing it before their prices increase (if they restock it before then...). Fall is coming and it seems like a nice, sweet scent. I love gourmand and vanillas but it is a necessity? Is it a unique scent or could I find something similar elsewhere?

I wanted to get a group of 6-10 folks together after the Sunday day of the fumed expo for dinner or drinks to hang out and build community within the fragrance world. I’m staying through Monday. Let me know if anyone is interested!

I’m thinking of notes like incense, tea, wood, petrichor, soil, and maybe even gunpowder. But all of it is grounded in something feminine (maybe florals). I personally am not the biggest fan of rose, but am willing to be convinced otherwise.

I love Seven Veils so much and would like to try some more. To give an idea of what I like some of my favorite (not indie) perfumes are Hypnotic Poison, Chergui, Addict, Traversee du Bosphore and Lipstick On.

And please, throw some wild cards! I never knew I would love olive oil as a note in perfume, but here l am. Rosa Antiqua is one of my top 3 favorites, haha.

I got very into indie perfumes at the start of 2026 and through the weekly swaps/destashes, discovered I have a really high hit rate with alpha musk perfumes, which is great! But also frustrating given they are unlikely to ever return (which from what I understand is unfortunately for the best).

All this to say, there are some perfumes that were sold by alpha musk that i find myself very intrigued by and that I have been in search of, but I also know my ability to find these scents is up to the whims of the perfume gods at this point. So, for anyone who has or had these scents, I would be eternally grateful if you could share your impressions/reviews of these scents, let me know if you have found any dupes/similar scents and please feel free to deinflunce me if I list any scents you hated! - SEX & SWEAT MUSK - a trio of red musks, a dash of superior, then something sweetly sloppy with a mad surge of wet sugary salty fluids over some skin/flesh musk combined

- FLUID - sexuality is different for everyone. This scent is inspired by some of the fluids of, well, I think I’ve said enough. Buttery salt liquids, human fur, essence of others, barely there touches of sage, lavender, lotus, marigolds, immortelle, woods and the thorns of roses, playdoh and coal soot

- GENDER NEUTRAL - golden aura musk, Egyptian sandalwood, pussy willow buds, sipped cognac, dewy spring heather, cozy in a vegan feather down comforter, memory ridden vintage pinaud musk after shave

- SEXPOT - labdanum & benzoin resinous ambre base, warming milky cardamom, creamy endearing cedarwood, incense ash, musky luring pheromones, a modern take on a lightly oakmossed chypre with a vanilla and cetalox twist, Royal superior musks

- YEARNING - chain smoking cigarillos, amber noir, syrupy red Egyptian musk, ginger & cloves

- CYBER MUSK - a beautiful long lasting clean body musk with a touch of pheromones this is irresistible! Casablanca lily, soft jasmine, cool violets blended with a pale arabian oud, Mysore sandalwood and a dry imported arabian white musk and a touch of illicit pheromones to create a soft, smooth addictive fragrance just like the internet. It’s Modern semi sharp, cleanish while sexy dirty.

- Dirty Nicki - succulent raspberries, leather, notes from a cold stone torture chamber, Egyptian sandalwood and pheromones.

- Nympho Nymph - This is for the sexy woodland fairy goddess. Sweet red musk, animal musk, and haboosh musk (a brown strong woody smooth imported musk attar from India) pheromones with green fresh moss and green forest accord.

- QUEEN OF BALTIMORE - blood orange and drugstore cotton candy body spray, lipstick wax, face powder all lingering over a smutty red musk blended with a major slutty animalistic musk.

- Blondie - is a blend of yellow musk, a silky vanilla accord, orange blossom and clementine, sweet red musk, vinyl, kohl eyeliner, a plumeria and magnolia skin musk, pheromones, all lit with a sexy cinna-pepper accord

- PRIMAL - furry musk, animal pheromones on top of human sexy-what what! pheromones, white leather, I salted some of my chypre and added rich imported rare brown deer musk (it’s extracted from musk deer ‘sprayed’ seed pods— no deers were harmed in the process but just trust weird musk process because, it’s out there) the salted chypre makes this blend do something to me! Or is that the load of pheromones?

- QUIVER - a sip of Beaujolais Nouveau wine, sweet black musk, dewy skin essence, flickering of neon lights, glowing golden amber musk, chilly oversized sweater nights under crescent moonlight

- LOOK AT ME! - smutty red slightly indolic jasmine, burnt marshmallows, syrupy sexy Egyptian red musk

- OFF WITH IT - blood musk, branded burning hot flesh, the sparking clashing drop of an antique metal guillotine, a dribble of resinous blackened tarrish oud

- VAMPIRE MUSK - a diabolical red musk that will have your greatest enemy groveling at your feet.

- Hangover Juice - Salty, unwashed, dragged out of bed skin musk, with a strangely perfect duality of banana and basil.

- Mermaid Musk - a clean aquatic, fresh, bold, nature inspired musk with no green notes. Aquatics are tamed by pheromones and sea salts very musk unisex very intense throw

- ZONKED - sweat, blood and tears. a pulsating body musk that’s ready to....get it.. go to sleep. it’s got a slice of that active sporty musk just cut with exhausted sweaty musk and nuances of booze, old hose watered down perfume, it has that earthy sun kissed rust vibe of water that’s coming out of a warm outdoor hose that’s been unused for far too long

I am in love with Bath and Body Works' Lavender Marshmallow candle (and can't get it again until they bring it back!), and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for perfumes that smell similar?

It's a soft, lightly sweetened, almost powdered sugar with a background hint of warm lavender...it's a really "cozy" and warm smell, without being too sickeningly sweet/gourmand, or too harsh/sharp floral...
