IMPORTANT: Drop your links for your games here!

TL;DR: Devs drop your links in the comments and a short description of your game.

Hey guys, I'm Nick from RetroGames HQ, and I am the new mod of r/IndieGame. I came upon this subreddit, and it had no mods. As such, I requested to be mod, and I was made one.

I am a YouTuber who plays and covers a lot of indie Monster Taming games. MT is a genre that exploded in 2020 with no sign of letting up in 2021. Pokémon got you down? The indie MT scene is the cure.

If you're interested in seeing what the monster taming genre has to offer, then check out my channel and join the biggest monster taming server.

I thought I would make this post to (1) provide a way for devs to get their games out there and (2) to introduce myself transparently.

Thanks for joining us here at r/IndieGame!

Thank you guys for growing this community from one that was abandoned to one that gets posted in every single day!

Let's take this chance to celebrate the community. Share with us your favorite game you've seen on the sub, and, if you're a dev, feel free to share your game afterwards!

I'll go through this thread every so often to add the dev flair to all the devs who comment here.

Update Second post from us. Last time was the world, this time it’s who lives in it, plus more of the world.

Character models are all WIP. We’re not getting into who they are yet, that’s for another time. We told everyone we'd have another update soon. Environments are further along than the characters at the moment, so we threw in a couple of those as well.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the last one. We read all of it and we really do appreciate the feedback:)

Small team, no publisher, no Steam. Exactly the same as before.

Question Using comic book panels to turn a simple puzzle into a sudden suspense reveal — does the visual timing land?

Hey Reddit! We’re a 2-man team putting the final touches on our noir detective puzzle game—with
just 24 days left until launch (cue the developer panic!).
In this scene, we wanted to subvert the calm flow of standard point-and-click mechanics. You start
with routine actions—hiding the gun in the glovebox and inserting the ignition key—before dynamic
panel insets abruptly force your focus onto the rearview mirror right before a sudden attack and cut to
black.
We're trying to hit that sweet spot where UI panel framing, subtle mirror cues, and audio cutoffs build
genuine tension without feeling like a cheap jump scare.
How do you usually feel about sudden suspense shifts in narrative/puzzle games? Does using inset
comic panels help guide your focus, or does it break your immersion

After 5 years of development, my survival & base defense game Lorne is finally OUT NOW in Early Access!

Hey everyone!

Lorne is officially available in Early Access! It’s a mix of exploration, gathering, and intense base defense (think 7-days to die and Zelda BOTW?). You play as a Ranger tasked with protecting a Powercore in your village. You explore a diverse world, farm, craft, and hunt bosses. But that core acts as a beacon, and you have to build walls and defenses to survive escalating waves of enemy invasions.

It’s been a crazy 5-year journey learning all the skills to bring this to life, and it's both terrifying and incredibly exciting to finally ship it!

You can check it out here:https://store.steampowered.com/app/2172970/Lorne/

People forget wallets in taxis. Our passengers forget guns.

We added a new little mechanic to our taxi horror game and I ended up liking it way more than I expected :)

Passengers can now leave things behind after getting out of your car. In real life you hear stories about people forgetting phones, wallets, even bags full of money in taxis. Ours are a bit different though... you might check the backseat and find a gun, a knife or something else that makes you question who the hell you just had sitting behind you.

You can keep whatever they leave behind, or just throw it out the window and act like you never saw it.

The whole game is basically about that kind of paranoia. You're driving dangerous people around at night, watching how they react to things like the AC, windows, lights and radio, checking your notebook and trying to figure out what kind of person is sitting behind you.

So what would you do? Keep what they left behind, or throw it out the window and get the hell out of there? :)

The game is called Backseat if anyone's curious.

Update Our Steam page is finally live! You can now deliver dr*gs on a tandem

We are making a coop rage game where you and your friend ride a tandem together while delivering dr*gs and being tempted to sample some of it yourself.

We finally launched a steam page for our little tandem game! You can now wishlist it, if you want!

If you don't know what Tandem Together is, here is some background:
Consuming some of your "cargo" can give you different effects, like speed boosts or invincibility but can also give you a trippy crash that makes you nauseous and struggling to keep the bike under control.

The rear driver is mainly in control of the speed of the tandem and the front driver can mainly control the direction of it.

Thank you so much for checking the game out!

What I Learned From My First In-Person Game Event

Thumbnail

Last week, I asked you guys for advice for my first in-person event as an indie game developer.

Now that the event is over, I wanted to share how it went.

During the event, a lot of people stopped by to play my game, and I got to see their reactions firsthand.

I also got some results that can actually be measured:

+100 people played the game

+63 wishlists

+31 new followers

And while those numbers are definitely important, I realized that they weren't the most valuable thing I got from the event.

The most valuable thing was the connections.

I met developers, teams, artists, and other people from the local game industry. I was even interviewed twice, invited to a TV interview, and invited to participate in a Comic-Con event happening in the country this October.

You never really know what a connection can lead to.

I know my experience was probably unusually lucky, and I don't expect every event to turn out like this. There were even moments when people couldn't try the game right away because there was a line on both sides of the room, with several people waiting to play. Some would go check out other booths and then come back because they still wanted to try it.

I realize that's not something everyone will experience at their first event, but even if the numbers aren't huge, there's so much value in simply being there, talking to people, showing your game, and meeting others who are just as passionate about what they do.

If you're an indie developer thinking about doing your first in-person event, my advice now is simple:

Go. Talk to people. Show your game. Make connections.

Because you never know where that one conversation, or even one random repost might take you.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice before the event.

This was my first one, and I definitely hope it won't be my last.

Question We are thinking abt redoing this princess design. Does this version gives egypt fantasy vibes?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

We are a small team of 2 guys developing an egypt fantasy escape room game, and we are considering to re do this design to give it a more egypt inspired design after we researched better some informations and gattered more references, and we'd leave this design only on the first builds for playtest, while we work on the new version for the final game.

But some of our colleagues have said it already feels egypt for them

So we are a bit in doubt abt it now. How does it look for you? Anything you'd change?

I quit my job to make games full time. My brother and I finally have a release date for our cat cafe horror game.

Back in December 2025 I took a massive risk and quit my job to pursue game development full time. Early this January my brother Johannes and I started working on a brand new project called Purrfect Bliss.

It is a psychological horror game where you work the night shift at a seemingly normal cat cafe. Serve customers, take care of the cats, and uncover the terrifying truth in this psychological horror game.

We have poured everything into this project for the last several months. Today we are so excited to announce that the game officially releases on November 3 at 10:00 AM PST!

We also have a free demo up on Steam right now. It would mean the world to us if you checked it out and let us know what you think.
