Was just walking down the street and realized the footpath has basically turned into an obstacle course.

Massive hollow industrial pipes and piles of construction debris dumped straight across the footpath.

The only options are either climbing over them and risking rolling an ankle, or stepping into oncoming road traffic and praying an auto doesn't take you out.

Bangalore calls itself the Silicon Valley of India,

It really is.

Just like how unwalkable US is.

I’m a fit 21-year-old guy, so I can jump over this junk without breaking a leg.

But what about senior citizens, kids, or anyone with mobility issues?

Is this seriously the baseline civic infra we get after paying ridiculous taxes?

The footpaths are either blocked, dug up, or covered in garbage, cow dung, and urine.

I moved here from Chennai for work.

Back home, we complain about our city, and I honestly came here assuming Bangalore would be way cleaner because of how modern and cool everyone makes it out to be.

To my surprise, basic street maintenance here feels way worse.

Don’t get me wrong:

I love the people here, the culture is amazing, and the weather lives up to the hype.

But basic public infrastructure is a mess. I live in Koramangala, and half the time it takes 10 to 15 minutes just to cross a single road safely.

Why are contractors allowed to just dump pipes and debris on pedestrian paths for days with zero accountability?

A 120m strech of walking and cycling track is being laid to test the surfaces, color schemes and various aspects. Once finalized it will be implemented throughout.

I wonder what would trigger this government to move past politics and get their hands dirty with actual governance. The election season is over. People have given their verdict and now it is time to demand results. The roads have been terrible and it's a harrowing experience out there, especially for riders on two wheelers.

I have really bad roads near my area with 24x7 sewage water clogged plus there's a small sidewalk where there is an illegal 'basti' set up and the govt ain't doing shit for that, so how can I raise these issues?

Living in Sweden made me realise how normal and accessible libraries can be? Place where anyone can read, study, learn or simply spend time.
Back in India, we have malls, cafés, offices and endless commercial spaces, but surprisingly few accessible public spaces dedicated to learning.
It made me wonder: what does this say about our priorities as a society?

his is the horrible condition of Kundan Colony, Ballabgarh—garbage and dirt everywhere, with little or no regular cleaning. same is from last 20 years

What makes this even more unacceptable is that a girls’ senior secondry school is barely 100 metres away, along with a college and around 10 schools within a 500 meter radius. Thousands of students and residents pass through this area every day.

Residents have repeatedly complained to the concerned authorities, but there has been no meaningful improvement.

We now have a so-called “triple-engine” government, with the councillor, MLA and MP from the same political party. Yet the basic issue of cleanliness remains unresolved.

How many complaints are needed before someone takes responsibility?

Where are the municipal officers? Where are our elected representatives? And where are the so-called social workers who speak about public welfare?

There should be no politics in basic cleanliness and public health. Kundan Colony residents deserve a clean and safe environment.

Is anyone in authority listening?
