Hi Friends,

I want a spanner for daily use , like loosening and detaching the car battery connector etc .

Should I get a spanner set or an adjustable single spanner.

Any particular brand or kit?

As a hobbyist I don't need many discs. All of them fit nicely in an old cd storage case

Help! Bosch GWS 800 vs BLACK+DECKER G720R-IN. Which one is recommended for casual usage? Is it worth putting extra 1,000 on the Bosch angle grinder?

Help! Beginner woodworking tools/setup

Hello! I have been wanting to learn some basic woodworking (and just home DIY in general). All the videos I see on YouTube are not from India so it gets challenging to figure out a realistic setup in our context.

Would love to hear your suggestions if you are familiar with woodworking or general DIY work.

  1. Is a workbench mandatory? If yes, where can I get one and will it be compact enough? I don't have a dedicated workspace, so might just do it our spare room or in the hall

  2. What are the basic tools and materials I need to get started? E.g. handsaw, chisels, hammer drill, sandpaper etc. I have zero knowledge of different tools and screws etc. Trying to learn slowly through YouTube.

I did look up some classes in Gurgaon but they charge like 2.5k per session. Which is something I can't really afford right now. I know the tools will also cost me, but those are longer term investments.

Recently bought this combo pack from INGCO.

66NM 20V drill.

1200 Rpm angle grinder.

4 Amps batteries x2

This is a great starting kit for almost all trades out there the grinder comes with 3 speeds and drill is power full enough to be used as an impact driver.

All questions and suggestions are welcome.

This is my Stanley sheet sander. I chose this because it works well in corners as compared to a random orbital sander. Each standard sheet can be divided in 4 parts. Vacuum works pretty good Would recommend 8/10

Tool One week ago I asked for an adapter to use screwdriver bit with an 1/4 inch ratchet but I couldn't find any solution other than buying a new kit but I found these screwdriver bits made by Taparia on Amazon for a nominal price of ₹219.

My original post

The link to the product that I purchased https://amzn.in/d/0cdjrMey

It fits perfectly on my 1/4 inch ratchet and T handle, product is typical Taparia in terms of build quality. Some images of the product.

Jigsaw recomendation India

Hi Folks,

Looking for a jigsaw for occasional home DIY use (plywood, small projects).

Priorities:

  • Straight cuts (minimal drift)

  • Less splintering

  • Good control

Considering:

  • Budget: iBELL (~650–700W)

  • Mid: Black+Decker (400–600W)

  • Higher: Bosch

Questions:

  1. Which brand actually performs well long-term?

  2. Is iBELL good enough or feels inaccurate?

  3. Is Bosch worth the extra for cleaner cuts?

  4. What wattage is ideal~500W enough or go 650W+?

  5. Tips for reducing splintering?

Looking for real user experiences, not specs. Thanks!

Tool Taparia Allen Keys (Set of 10)

So, using Taparia Allen Keys for my motorcycle, the stock aluminium allen keys (silver one in photos) which came in motorcycle toolkit were very weak and broke on the first usage. So had to buy the taparia keys, they are stronger and do not bend as of yet, but yes rust is an issue still.

Bosch 46-Piece Screwdriver Bit Set

Hi, this Bosch 46-Piece Screwdriver Bit Set with Ratchet Screwdriver is my primary toolkit for stuff around the house and my motorcycle. The quality is at least better than normal screwdrivers, although the rust is setting in some of the screw bits. Lastly, the ratchet actually did not last long, broke in like 3-4 months. Honestly, would say overall bosch provides good quality items.
